Had them come out to estimate a leaky roof repair. Estimate came back over $900 with no materials. We agreed, they sent out one man. He spent 1:15 hours and left. I called Evergreen to complain about such a high fee for barely an hour worth of work for one man. I was told: "Well, you signed the estimate"! I call that gouging. read more

In 2020 I volunteered to serve on the Board of my HOA with the express intention of shepherding through a much-needed, property-wide roof replacement for 28 units. After reviewing bids from 3 companies we selected Evergreen Roofing - they weren't the highest or the lowest, but their bid was very comprehensive, and Eric Baker was willing to work with us to piece out the project in phases, which was incredibly helpful for us financially. We were able to put together a plan that enabled us to get underway with the bulk of the roofs in November 2021, with the goal of finishing the project by the end of 2023. Evergreen was very speedy and thorough with our first project phase, and while there were some nails left behind, they were responsive to this complaint and sent a crew to do a more thorough pickup of debris. We had been given a "what to expect" document so our homeowners would be aware that dust would settle, and items could become dislodged due to vibration, which was very handy in enabling us all to prepare our homes, patios, and garages accordingly. There was only one leak reported post-construction (at my place, naturally) and they came out immediately to assess and cure the problem. Between phase 1 and phase 2, we became concerned about inflation and asked if we could split phase 2 into 2 pieces so that we could pay for a smaller chunk of the roofs before prices skyrocketed. Eric was happy to do this and phase 2 was quickly completed, with much better cleanup and zero leaks reported. Some time later, one of the last remaining homes reported a major failure of their roof, and Evergreen came out immediately to tarp it in the hope that it would hold until we were able to pay for the final phase of the project. The tarp was not enough to prevent leaking and Evergreen quickly agreed to split the project further, to enable us to replace just this building's roof and protect the home from further damage. As I am writing this it is May 25, 2023, and I'm absolutely delighted to say that Evergreen Roofing is out there right now, finishing the LAST of the roof replacements on our property-wide project. All of the work was done in accordance with the prices in the original quote from 2021, and the cost to tarp the failed roof was deducted from the cost of the final replacement for that building. And they even used the remnants to re-roof the little mailbox structures in our townhome community! Ultimately we were able to bring this project in on budget and 6 months ahead of schedule. I am very happy with Evergreen Roofing's staff and roofing job. Their estimator had years of experience and was very good at listening to my concerns and answering questions. The team leader, Eric was very considerate and ran an efficient crew of 7 hard working fellows. They had such great work ethics. They tidied up the site after the first day then did a thorough clean up the next day when they were done. They took care not to damage my new gutters and cleaned them too. My patio roof rests on the house roof in two places so they had to figure out a method of lifting it carefully, which they did, in order to do the house roof. I was very pleased with getting the job done in only two days. The first day they tore off the old roofing and put on new plywood sheets and weather proofing. The second day they did all the shingles and flashing. It was helpful having 7 hard working guys all focused on getting this done pronto. We recently purchased a house, which needed a new roof. Rob came out & did a thorough inspection of the inside & outside of the house. We were impressed by his integrity and honesty, as well as his thoroughness and sincere care & concern for our needs in giving us the full explanation describing what was needed. (The other bids we received were basically the same price as Evergreen, but it was our interaction with Rob that helped us make our decision to use your company.) Because of the 2 big winter storms & all the damage done, our installation was scheduled for July. Imagine our surprise, when Chad called us on Saturday, April 29th, and asked if we wanted our roof replacement to begin the next week, on May 2nd!! We said YES without hesitation. The crew did a great job. They were efficient, on time, friendly and communicative and clearly knew what they were doing. We've watched other roofing crews in our previous 20-building-apartment-complex, and there is no comparison - your company is far superior! Chad is Evergreen's Greatest Asset! He was our crew leader, and he was informative & helpful, assuring us about the workmanship and scheduling throughout the process in a friendly comfortable way. But wait -- there's more! Seriously, what really astounded us is, that after the roof was completed, we were walking around the property the following rainy Sunday & heard dripping. We noticed a missing corner downspout piece, and we had planned to call the next day to ask what to do about it. We came over to our house the following morning before calling Evergreen and found Chad replacing the downspout! We were shocked - pleasantly so! He told us he found it when he was doing his final inspection after completion of the job! Now that's service!! Evergreen Roofing sent a worker who chose to display a visibly racist tattoo while working on our roof. This worker was shirtless the entire time he was at our house (over multiple days) with a large, impossible to miss, "East Side White Pride" (Portland based hate group) tattoo prominently displayed on his chest. Needless to say, we were extremely uncomfortable. We were also bewildered that he thought that this was ok at a public work site, and that the two other members of his team never said anything to him about it. To make matters worse, we were given no consideration when we tried to report the individual back to Evergreen Roofing. The woman who answered the phone did nothing beyond telling us that she would "pass it along to the supervisor". She did not escalate the call to a manager, and she made no attempt to assure us that the report would be confidential, or the matter handled with sensitivity. It's possible, maybe even likely, that management did not know this individual had such a tattoo. I'm also not claiming that one guy represents that views of an entire company -- however, this worker felt that it was ok to go shirtless displaying his racist message, and Evergreen chose not to respond in any meaningful way after it was reported. read more

Since it was 4 years ago I hesitated to review them. We had a horrible experience w/Evergreen. We hired them to do a roof repair, but they missed 7 leaks. We ended up with water damage in the walls, and a portion of our interior ceiling. They admitted it was their oversight and lack of attention that led to the failure, but them offered to repair it for a large fee and were quite rude to boot. Evergreen was one of the only companies in Eugene that would come out and evaluate my current roof and then provided a quote for either a repair or replacement. For that I thank them. Their estimate guy came out on time and I was impressed with his knowledge and suggestions. I decided to move forward with a complete roof replacement. However, today the new roof has been completely installed, but not without a couple of hiccups. First, they trampled my garden. I don't understand why it was NOT covered by any tarps or coverings of any kind. It was nice that they seemed to attempt to clean up their mess, but my plants suffered. Second, I got the shit scared out of me at 12:30 AM when the packages of shingles that had been propped up on my extremely pitched roof came sliding off. It narrowly missed my car by 2 inches, however it ripped off my gutter and crushed my already suffering garden. Lastly, cleanup options should not include a leaf blower that just blows debris everywhere. If they can improve things with their installation process, 5 stars all the way. My roof does look great, and I am looking forward to many happy years. read more

Professional. Courteous. Flexible. Informative. Responsive. Punctual. Fair pricing. Excellent end product. Grounds were left clean. Eric and his crew faced tremendous challenges on my house: rotted wood, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, rodents, and decay due to the previous roofer's failure to provide appropriate ventilation. Eric offered recommendations for a carpenter to re-frame the roof; the carpenter was quick and did a great job. And though rain stalled the job for well over a week, the Evergreen crew double-wrapped my roof to make it leak-proof. The roof was completed in a timely fashion considering all the obstacles. I wish I could come up with a complaint to make this review more believable, but I am stymied. read more

I cannot begin to say how very pleased I have been with Evergreen Roofing --from start to finish! I write this as a single woman with little, to no, prior knowledge of roofs and, as such, feel as if it's "a man's world" when it comes to roofing and a little uncomfortable. Evergreen is a tried and true company that has been in the area for many a year and all of my questions were answered and I proceeded feeling that I was in good hands-and I was! Evergreen's estimator, Rob, was so prompt and efficient when coming to my home on the McKenzie and I was mailed the proposal very quickly in an easy to understand format. I was in need of having my home re-roofed as soon as possible and Evergreen Roofing was able to work some magic and work began sooner than I had ever hoped for in order to accommodate me. I am very grateful to Rob and Chad for going out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of with amazing expediency. The pricing on re-roofing my home was more than fair. My re-roofing job was an arduous project as 2 layers of old roofing materials, including one layer of wood shingles, needed to be removed and then the house and garage covered with plywood before the actual roofing could begin. Joe's team did the tear off and I couldn't have asked for a greater team of guys! They worked their little hearts out for a week tearing off the the old roof(s) and then hauling away all of the debris that followed. The fellows were so pleasant and thoughtful-- not to mention tolerant of my 6 mo. old puppy who can be a handful. They even carried in groceries for me on a day that I had an emergency! I found Fernando and Johnny to be extremely conscientious when putting on my new roof and I am more than satisfied with the quality of their work. This was hard work as well and the new roof took a little over a week. Everything was done in a very professional and timely manner and I have no question about the quality of the work done. Rob (estimator) paid a followup visit to review the work done and make sure that the property was left neat and clean. How nice! I am befuddled by the negative reviews that I just read but I can endorse Evergreen Roofing with absolutely NO hesitation! read more

Eric and his crew at Evergreeen Roofing of Oregon in Eugene have done work for me twice this year: Once after the ice storm at the beginning of 2017 when a tree branch fell and punctured our roof, and in August when they replaced the entire roof. Each time everyone involved was punctual, considerate and just plain did a great job. They were out to the house within hours of my call about the tree limb, and had the leak stopped and patched up in short order and no further leaks were seen. Th new roof looks great and lots of neighbors have remarked how good it looks. They even threw in a couple of vents that were needed but hadn't been installed previously. The price was good and the service was great. What more could you ask? I'm a happy customer who won't hesitate to use them again. read more

Very unhappy with everyone in this company. After paying over 10,000 dollars for a 30 year warranty roof, I wake up to a bowed ceiling and water pouring out of my ceiling fans. When I called them, they informed me it would be 6 days before they could have someone come look at it. When they did finally did show. They blamed me for not cleaning roof vents. I was never informed that this was needed to be done or that they were even there. The service guy showed me a hand full of moss and said this is your problem. Well there is still a leak, and my skylight on the other end of the house is now leaking. The best part is they just sent me a $185 dollar bill. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The only way I would recommend Evergreen Roofing of Oregon is if you are sure of two things. First, you have a recent tetanus shot, and two, you have run flat tires on any vehicle you bring near your house. The lack of professionalism displayed by the crew clambering about my roof was astonishing. As was the grossly apparent lack of work ethic. Between the nails left in my driveway and front walk (18 of them found so far) the cigarette butts randomly discarded, and even a lunch box, I am astounded that they have not been sued for gross negligence. Further, my garbage receptacle is not an appropriate place for a roofing crew to discard their leftovers. I only hope that the roof remains watertight as the idea of having these buffoons return is distressing to say the least. If you want a roof done, find a company that employs a crew with some semblance of standards and the common courtesy to clean up after themselves. I would however be remiss if I did not add that after a heartfelt complaint to their answering machine after their departure on Friday, a "management" type inspected the premises on Monday after the job was complete. This gentleman was forthright, did not make excuses and was personally searching for garbage and nails. While this was appreciated, it seems that it should be unnecessary. read more

These morons were inconsiderate enough to leave their huge van behind a car in the driveway of their latest customer on 5th Avenue, COMPLETELY BLOCKING THE SIDEWALK, obstructing the way for my DISABLED husband and me with our shopping cart, forcing us to search for a way in the middle of the street to get around this behemoth and then search for another driveway to get back onto the sidewalk. Next time this happens I'm taking down the license plate number and calling it in. A STANDING VIOLATION. Used Evergreen to tarp my roof after storm damage while I waited on my insurance company. We were told it would be $185 unless it took more than an hour. The bill came to $475! They were on my roof for 45min. I timed it. When I asked where this number came from I was told it was for the price of the tarp. When I asked if I could see an invoice for the tarp I was told they didn't have one but I could google it. I asked the dimensions and name brand and I was told they didn't have that information. I was also told that if I used them for my roof replacement that this amount would go down to $185. And as I have seen in the other reviews there were roofing nails all over my yard just from a simple tarping. They were also $1500-2000 more than any other estimate. Run away. Evergreen Roofing has very poor customer service and quality of work. They put in a new roof in 2006. Five years ago it started leaking. We have had to have them out repeatedly to repair our roof, costing us financially each time, not only for the roof repair, but also for replacing wet insulation and repairing our ceiling that was water damaged. Last year we had a repair person who came out who said that the roof had not been put in correctly, and that was why it was leaking. He repaired that area, which seems to have repaired correctly. However, once again, the roof is leaking in a place that had previously "been repaired" and our ceiling is damaged. We have called them repeatedly and no one returns our calls. It is clear that Evergreen Roofing is not interested in customer service or in backing up their work. read more

A tree damaged my roof and gutter in the ice storm. Evergreen was quick to come out, inspect the damage, and provide an estimate. The work was finished quickly and they replaced the roof in a day and the gutters took another day. One thing to note is that there is a 4% surcharge if paid by credit card. read more

Hired evergreen roofing to do a roof inspection for a property I am buying. At first I was super happy with them because they were able to do an inspection for me within a week when all other companies were quoting me months. But that's about the only good thing. First of all, I told them I needed the report to say the roof has at least 3-5 years of life left for it to be accepted by the bank. They assured me that was no problem. Evergreen had actually replaced one side of the roof 9 years prior and the other side of the roof 1 year prior. So I wasn't worried at all. But then I get the report and it says estimated age of roof 18 years! And a $11,000 bid attached. So obviously they either did a crappy job, or they are just trying to get more work. When I called and voiced my complaint they just said "well we can't change the report." So there's $175 down the drain. Too bad for them, they just lost business from me, my dad, and my grandpa which is 3,000 properties. read more

Initially gave a good review. Job was done during bad weather. After finishing we walked around our house and found debris everywhere. Also, damage to siding. We also noticed a small area that had a missing tile to complete a section. Made several calls but to no avail No follow up by Evergreen. Now, after a very heavy rain and wind storm, we noticed a leak in our attic. It was a small leak but still a leak. We called Evergreen and they stated someone would be out the following day to ascertain the problem. Several days have elapsed and no response. It should be pointed out that we had three collector cars in our garage. No one indicated that they were in danger of damage from debris falling from the vent holes that were opened during the process. After the roofers left and the weather improved we decided to wash the vehicles. All three vehicles had damage from falling pieces of roofing. read more
