As a long-term customer at multiple iTan locations from San Diego county to Orange County since I moved to California 10 years ago, today was the last time I'll be back. When I first walked in, the two girls behind the desk were both on their phones and appeared unhappy. I had to renew/sign my general release, and I got an attitude asking to have it printed out on paper instead of email. But it's ineligible to read because the printer was out of ink. Please find time to train your employees that have manners and don't sit on their phones during their shifts. read more

Have to go 30 minutes drive to the next closest location that actually has the full services. I joined in my neighborhood for a reason....don't want to go 30 min away every day. This review is more about the amazing staff--specifically Maggie--than just the salon itself. I've been coming here for the past 3.5 months and was really struggling with uneven tanning. I brought up my concerns multiple times to different employees. Some tried to help, while others honestly just looked at me like I was overreacting. I was seriously about to cancel my membership--until I spoke with Maggie. She was professional, polite, sweet, and genuinely attentive. She not only listened to my concerns, but actually followed through and contacted the manager. Turns out, one of the machines wasn't working properly! Thanks to Maggie, the issue was fixed, and I've been getting an amazing, even tan ever since. I came here on Wednesday with my mom, who is a loyal customer. She comes here literally EVERYDAY & has the membership so I got the 7 day trial pass. First off, they have every single tan option you could imagine here! It's definitely a nice setup. I'm actually on my way back right now to tan again with my mom. This review is actually for Chloe. She was the one working when I came in. I just wanted to give her recognition because her customer service was 10/10. She has an amazing personality & is so great with the customers. She also explained literally every single tanning option to me because I didn't know what any of them meant. She answered all of my questions & then some. I've read some reviews on here about the girls that work here are rude and not helpful & that is just the opposite of what I experienced. So yeah, shoutout to Chloe! Thanks for being awesome. Good tanning, but don't like the automatic membership charges every month. I misunderstood that as part of membership, I would be charged monthly. I haven't used the facility services in almost a year, did not realize I was being charged. I haven't tanned in 10 months & discovered i have been charged $700 dollars during this time and have not used the tanning services. Membership should allow you to pay monthly as you go, not automatically charge you monthly. This is good business practice and should be illegal. With the automatic monthly billing process this tanning salon has, I would not patronize it anymore, would never have joined the membership or would recommend ITAN. I came in last week to get a spray tan and signed up for the Yelp offer (or was it their August special ?) monthly membership for unlimited spray tans for $59.99. I think that's a pretty reasonable deal if I do it once a week. They have other services like red light therapy and the traditional tanning beds that will ruin your skin FOREVER so don't EVER lay in a tanning bed. It is the worst possible thing you can do to your skin!! It zaps out all of the collagen and elasticity worse than the sun does!!! The spray tans are great and I love the scent!! 5 stars for mystic tanning!! The directions are easy to follow once you get in the booth. The girl who works here will patiently explain. I really like this place, it was recommended to me by a friend. On a whim I signed up for the spray and spa combo to get some scheduled self care time away from the house and really fell in love with the fit wraps. I tried booking today and was told oh, you can only come every 48 hours for this service. Which is a real bummer to experience and I feel like there should be a notice on this on their menu when it's time to sign up that the service is limited. The positives are the people working here are nice and it's kept clean and is well run. But I'm pretty annoyed that something advertised as unlimited actually isn't. Area manager, Morgan, took the time to specifically blacklist me from going to the other location to book and went out of her way to contact them and then called me to cancel my appointment for lake forest. It seemed ok the first day and as soon as I went into a pool. I became blotchy like a large birth mark on my body. It is awful especially being on vacation. This didn't last 2 days and I look ridiculous! My knees have 2 large orange circles. I did everything they said to do. Big waste of money and tip. read more

I was going to get a tan tonight with my sister that usually gets $10 tans but then I saw she charged $36, I was asking questions and she wouldn't even explain to me how itan works or that her price was over a sale period. I have a completely different skin tone than my sister so obviously I would want a different tan / help choosing a shade. I have never even been here she could have at least explained how their system works or how the tanning machines work instead of just saying "the price is the same" like ok I got that girl. If she would have been the slightest bit helpful or nice or informative I would have had no problem at all spending $36 and even more than that. I have been going to this location for few months. I have to say from all of the locations I have visited , San Clemente has to be the best. It is always clean and inviting. Employees actually look as they are enjoying their job I like to visit places that you know when you walk in there won't be no drama waiting for you. Tonight I had Alexis check me in. She was sweet, knowledge. Took her time and explained products and also she was familiar with the tanning beds In today's economy there are few small pleasures I like to keep Itan is one of them. Just started going here to get a base tan for my upcoming honeymoon. I am super pale so I was a bit apprehensive to tan at all but I don't want to burn on my trip. I was very pleasantly surprised by their fair pricing and knowledgeable employees. They are low pressure but willing to share recommendations with you. I purchased a monthly membership for tanning. When I cancelled my membership/autopay in person, I signed a paper and was told it was done. I asked if I would be given proof of cancellation with a confirmation email. I was told, "no, we don't do that but don't worry because it was cancelled and your credit card won't be charged anymore." I also was not given a copy of the paper I signed. I later found out my credit card continued to be charged for the next 3 months. I called and spoke with the managers Kaylee and Morgan and explained the situation. I was told without proof of cancellation, I could not be refunded. I re-explained I was DENIED proof of cancellation when I cancelled in person. How can I provide proof when I was denied proof? Then I was told I would have to wait 7-10 days to hear back from the district manger if I wanted a refund. Then they ghosted me and after 10 days, no one would return my phone messages or emails. They could see in my profile that I've been coming there for YEARS and this is how I was treated. Be warned! If you sign up for a membership and give them your credit card on auto pay, you will be responsible for unlawful charges and the managers with ghost you. This is fraud! read more

I was tanning here for months with no problems except every time I went their, there was a new person at the desk. The staff was always nice until I went one day to tan and Amber ( Autumn) not sure her exact name was so rude and her comments inappropriate and nothing to do with tanning literally made me not want to return. To make things worse she said she was one of the managers. Now I see why all the other staff leaves. I canceled my membership from a terribly run tanning spa. You are suppose to go there and relax and get a tan not harassed. Find another salon where kind and friendly is the attitude. read more

I have been going to this ITan salon for the past 2 years and have been amazed with their diverse products and services, clean and modern facilities and very professional and informed staff. I have severe chronic back pain and I've tried every pain management treatment in the.past including spinal epidermalI, acupuncture and chiropractors. No other treatment has alleviated my back pain and decreased my inflammation the way infrared light treatments have.. These treatments have changed my life and made it possible for me to enjoy life without debilitating pain. I LOVE this place! I used to go to Amazon Tan across the street for a Mystic Tan and since they closed that, I didn't know where to go for a Mystic so I used Yelp! It had only a few reviews (5) but I decided to try it after looking at their extensive website and finding that this was more than JUST a Tanning Salon/Mystic Tan and a spray tan was ONLY $30! I called in to see if I needed an appointment and talked to a very friendly lady on the phone. Once I arrived at the Tanning Salon, I was greeted by another extremely nice lady who was very eager to help me (I apologize that I cannot remember the name but she was tall, blonde and very pretty!). I simply wanted a Mystic and she told me about 2 different machines. I ended up going into one that was NOT the Mystic and took her word for the other one. Her knowledge and professionalism were GREAT! She listened to what I was looking to have with my spray tan and guaranteed that I would LOVE my spray tan. Best one I have had yet, I am so glad I took her word for it! I could have chosen to have an "instant bronze" but since I was going home for the night I got the one that settled and woke up with a very natural, yet dark (which is what I wanted) spray tan! I didn't smell like one either! I got my spray tan 6 days ago and still have it. Not to mention, this "Tanning Salon" isn't just for tanning or spray tans, there are so many other spa uses that can cater to anyone, including teeth whitening! I got the grand tour and wanted to try it all! They also have packages at a VERY reasonable price. If I ever move back down that way, I will definitely become a member. iTan needed/needs more stars and I wish I could add a few more. This location locked me into a contract when they told me it was cancelled. They sent me no emails letting me know about the membership for over the course of one year. I recently tried to get my money back for the membership they told me was cancelled, and they did nothing. I have now lost $800 for something I have not used once in the past year. All they did was offer me more credit. Clearly I don't use the services they offer so I am not sure why they thought offering credit would be of any use to me. Makenzie was such a sweetheart & very very good at her job. I went in to get an airbrush spray tan and the girl I usually go to is out on maternity leave. So I looked on Yelp to get some advice on where I should go. My boyfriend ( who has perfect olive skin like to go lay in the beds) but me being so fair skin- I always opt for the spray tan. I am always very wary of going any where now- my "tan" would come out streaky, orange, uneven, or spotchy. But after Makenzie worked her magic I walked out of the salon feeling and looking like I just spent an week in Cabo San Lucas! I would definitely recommend iTAN- in San Clemente-if you are starting to lose your summer glow or feeling the fall months are making you pasty white. Then iTAN is the place to call. Went in to get 1 spray tan, got talked into the monthly membership. Told could use all services for the month for no additional fees. True. But where they get you is with the "add ons". Fragrance so you don't smell like spray tan, lotions because "the hydration therapy only works best if you buy the 2 lotions". I could go on and on. Bottom line, if you go DO NOT let them up sell you. I bought a mouse tanning cream on Amazon and that actually worked better than what I got from iTan. read more

Beautiful salon, girls are friendly, although they are nice and most likely pushed to upsale you, it would be nice if they didn't try selling something every time you walk in. The lack of stars given is due to the fact they do not change out their bulbs and getting color is a big issue. I have gone in 5 time, full 10 and 12 min most expensive beds and still no color. I have not tanned in 10 months and I don't see any color and I have put the heart in the same place. I have tanned fir 20 years and always get a little pink the first few visits, obviously not changing bulbs so I do not recommend the beds. read more
