Let me set the scene: I walk in, ready for a quick tan. Josie at the front tells me the wait is 4 minutes. Cool, I can handle that. But then, what do I see? Josie and three other girls huddled up at the front desk like it's Mean Girls: Tanning Edition, cackling about whose house is hosting the party and what they're doing tonight. Spoiler alert: NONE of those plans involved helping the customers standing right there. Then Josie lets someone else go in ahead of me. When I remind her she told me 4 minutes, her response? "Oh yeah, my bad." Girl, what?? No apology, no solution--just a shrug and back to the gossip circle. Then she has the nerve to tell me to wait another 10 minutes. Absolutely not. You said 4. Try respecting people's time instead of planning your Saturday night at the front counter. Unless you're into bad attitudes, broken promises, and listening to high school hallway chatter, I'd skip this location entirely. iTAN Santee needs a serious customer service wake-up call--starting with Josie. read more

I tan almost weekly and feel lucky to have a membership here. I've tried several of the other locations, and this one is by far the BEST! It's always spotless, the staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, and they always know exactly which bed I should use next. There are so many options for tanning and self-care. They recently added a red light combo tanning bed, and it's definitely the star of the show. I also just learned they offer teeth whitening, which is such a fun bonus! I haven't tanned in a bed in over ten years and I had a few questions. Jenna was most helpful and knowledgeable and explained all the plans when I signed up the other day. The establishment is clean and they have lots of beds available so probably will never have to wait for one which is great. I would've gotten the spa services also for the teeth whitening especially but was deterred by the additional cost of the trays and gel. Paying an additional $40-$60 in addition to the membership is insane. I'll just go get it done at a dentist office instead. read more

Update!!!! The manager called me and we had a nice conversation. She explained the problem and they fixed everything! Tried to sign up and activate my account and get it back up and running!! They activated my account under the wrong person!! With MY credit card information...I went to a different location to tan and that's the only way I found out!! I had to call Santee to ask when I can tan next...and the manager wouldn't even talk with me. Was talking to me through an employee and she was relaying the information to me!! It's been a week and still no resolution! I love ITan...but just drive to El Cajon if you want to open an account! You'll have better luck. read more

I have gone to about three different iTAN salons over the years and absolutely love the ladies at the Santee location. From my initial visit, they have been friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and fun. Ashlyn has become my personal favorite, (although they are all great) my last name is not easy to spell and she quickly familiarized herself with me. When I come in, I don't even have to say anything, she already knows knows my name and preferences. She always has a huge smile on her face and makes you feel very welcome. I understand staffing issue isn't the staff's fault, it is on the business for not managing a better schedule. But every single time I visit, there is always only one person working. This person is responsible for checking people in, cleaning the beds, custom spray tan, everything else. Every s i n g l e time I visit for a less than 10 minute tan, I end up waiting upwards of 20+ minutes before someone can even check me in. My schedule is super tight, so it's just no longer a good fit for me and definitely a huge reason contributing to me cancelling my membership. read more

As summer is approaching I like to build a base tan! I told Anna I'm going on vacation and she got excited for me and was so knowledgeable on helping me get the best tan for my trip! She recommended I go in the beauty angel then go tan in room 2! She educated me on what the benefits are with the beauty angel and let me tell you she was right. When I left I saw the difference in my skin! She also told me about the lotion packages and I left with a great lotion that will help me build a great tan!
