Gehan Homes San Antonio builds beautiful homes! The online sales counselor Ted Higgs was able to…read moreanswer all of our questions and direct us to the community that best suited our family. He set up appointments for us to visit model homes and view some homes that were under construction. The onsite sales counselors were knowledgeable about the homes and really made the whole home buying experience easier.

We have just lived in our new build Brightland Home for 2 years. Last year around 14 months living…read morein the new home and rain season happening I placed a work order in for a roof repair which is causing a leak from the second floor to the bottom floor master bathroom. When i say leak it it more of a stream anytime it rains and it comes pouring down the bathroom vent. It has flooded our bathroom floor several times. We have been contacting warranty and customer care to help solve this issue but being hit with "out of year warranty". This year with the heavy rain our ceiling is trashed and we have had several roof inspectors sharing how this is a building error or a way they cut edges. Not proper vent installation, not proper calking of areas, possible cheap materials use to get the work done. For a brand new home less than two years in to have roofing issues and major leaking or lack of proper installation of a roof is unacceptable and unbelievable to me. I would suggest not using this builder has they don't look out for the homebuyers and selling new homes with major issues.

If you're considering different builders in the area, choose anyone BUT Scott Felder. Like others…read morehave echoed, this has been our biggest regret. They are very communicative and promise everything up until your deposit is placed. And then communication falls apart, and at this point I can't count how many deadlines have been missed. And forget about trying to get ahold of anyone for an update. We wish we had gone with Perry Homes! Edit: Delayed another month. Wish they were able to arrange for materials on time. We had the option of building a home with Perry last year, right in front of a beautiful park. We passed on the lot because they were honest about time frames, u like Scott Felder who projected an unrealistic closing date. I've spoken to another person who went with Scott felder two years ago and they were already having delay issues, and took over double their initial projected build time. The fact that they knew that there were already delays, and told me unrealistic dates, is insane. Meanwhile the home is sitting exposed to the elements, it's clearly falling apart. And again, I'm hearing of a lot of warranty issues occurring with Scott felder homes. I haven't even updated my wife yet about the new delays I'm afraid she'll kill me for choosing Scott felder. I'm officially looking for a new home. Thanks Scott.

(These pictures only include the front 2 rooms and half bath.) Most of these things were caught and pointed out prior to closing - they promised they would fix them after closing. I agreed since we were already 8 months past our closing date and I couldn't afford to keep living in Air BNBs. They have sent multiple people out to look at these issues - Each time they act very concerned and say they will fix the issues ASAP. Still waiting...
