Greatest record store around. The staff are great guys, very helpful. One of them sparked a conversation with me about one of my fav bands, t rex, we talked for a bit, he gave me really good info on some records I didn't know about, and then as I continued to shop, he put a trex album on in the store. Great record store- literally has records for EVERYONE. Jazz, country, hip hop, blues, rock, indie, pop, new releases, punk/hardcore. Huge used section where you can find great records in pretty good condition. "It's a gold mine if you spend the time!" They always have good music playing and the staff is very friendly. I was worried about the parking situation, as I had driven past dozens of times and saw that this store was situated right on a pretty busy street. I guess I had never paid attention before, because there is a free public parking lot not far away! Really a cool place. There are used and new records and CDs as well, plus some other stuff like shop stickers and shirts that you can buy. It's also priced well--I got two new records for $60, which was cheaper than buying them on Amazon with the added bonus of they didn't have to be shipped. A good variety of artists and genres. This place is unreal. Just a music lovers paradise. It has the usual bins of CD's/vinyl but so much more. Tons of hard to find collectible versions of CD's, figurines, books, photos, and posters. Should have taken pics while I was there for 3 hours in my first visit. They also sell tons of DVD/Blu-Rays of old concerts. These are at best soundboard quality and at worst recorded with a handheld from in the middle of the venue. They can be a real hit and miss in quality. I've purchased over a dozen in my last 2 visits. They were all great, but one was absolute garbage quality. I went back and told them and they gave me a full refund and said in the future, they will return any that are not of acceptable quality, which is absolutely amazing. I shopped at Everybody's Records once about a decade ago. Not much has changed it seems other than they seem to have even more stuff now and prices are (obviously with the vinyl resurgence) higher now. For used records they seemed pretty fair with their prices and had some gems. CD prices range from fair to "that much for a CD in 2019?" and new vinyl, while pricey in some cases, was consistent with most markets and there were some genre items (indie, metal, etc.) that aren't super common. I stopped by this location during my lunch break because this store is so conveniently located by my job. I've always felt hounded when I stop by stores like this because I'm usually the only customer in the store - this is not the case at Everybody's! There were multiple customers browsing the selections and 2 workers that I saw who were diligently working on intake and inventory. I was not bothered as I browsed their nice sized collection of used vinyl. They have everything sorted nicely by genre and alphabetically. I had a hard time making a few decisions on what exactly I was looking for, as I just recently purchased a record player for the first time and wanted to buy my first vinyl. I ended up choosing a new record that was nicely wrapped in plastic wrap with a dust sleeve as well. I made the purchase of 3 used vinyl records as well. All the records I purchased were in amazing shape, priced well in comparison to online retail stores like Amazon. Since this was first time looking to make a purchase, I did do some comparison shopping to make sure I was getting a good deal. I paid $20 for a brand new vinyl that is priced about $23 on Amazon. Good deal and supporting local businesses! The used records were priced reasonably as well - $7.99 each for 2 of my records and $15.99 for Grease soundtrack. Both of these prices rang reasonably for me. I checked online when I got home and used these records run $30+ with shipping. The check out process was simple and the gentleman at the counter was very friendly. I was super excited making my first vinyl record purchase (actually first 4 purchases!) and we had a nice conversation. I left the store with a big smile on my face. I will be visiting this location in the future to make many more vinyl record purchases! read more

This a great place for vinyl and cds. It's my favorite record store! It's located on Montgomery Rd. in the gaslight area of Pleasant Ridge. They have a large selection of both vinyl and cds in all music genres. They also sell some posters, t-shirts, sticker & buttons, and other items related to music. They have live music sometimes. Their Facebook page notifies which local band is going to be there and when you can catch the performance. The store employees are friendly and super helpful. This is a great neighborhood record store. The selection of indie vinyl is really good, and the prices are comparable to what you can find on Amazon (without shipping!). They have a good diverse selection of used vinyl, and if you're willing to dig deep you can find some hidden gems that are expensive on eBay (for example, I found a Monsters of Folk album here for retail price, only $20, which is so rare that it normally sells online for $100+). Speaking of used music, if you're trying to trade in your old records/CD's, they are pretty generous with their in-store credit for your trade-in. The best part about Everybody's Records, though, is the people. The employees that work here and the people that shop here are obviously passionate about music and it has a really cool, chill vibe...like your favorite neighborhood hang out. I come here mainly for the vinyls. I feel like a lot of vinyls shops are hit or miss. But for some reason, every time I come here I walk out with something. Either it's from the .99 cent bin or a random record that I was unexpectedly looking for. The records are arranged by genres. Rock, R&B, Jazz etc. Very organized and in fair quality. I really like Everybody's Records. It's really nice to still have stores like this around to hang out in..to browse in..to discover new, as well as older, music in. Their selection of vinyl is pretty vast, as well as their memorabilia. The staff are all really great nice people as well as being wholly knowledgable about all things music. The only issue that I've had here is that from time to time when I shop here they just don't have anything I'm looking for. There have been times where I have brought in extensive lists of things I was looking for only to leave with nothing. So basically I so want to spend my money there to support the store but there's nothing I'm looking to pick up. For the most part tho I am able to walk out with at least something, and it's really not that big of a deal to spend a couple extra dollars there for something in order to support the store. read more

I consider this place the godfather of record stores. This place has been around since 1978 and has seen the downs and ups of the record industry, and is still standing strong. They have a pretty vast space, which gives them room to stock a ton of new and used vinyl, along with a vast array of CDs, cassettes and other miscellaneous items. Their used vinyl collection skews more mainstream and classic rock, but there are small sections for punk, blues, R&B and several other random genres. And if you love flipping through crates for a random old gem, they have perhaps the larges $1 vinyl selection you'll find in town. Just be ready to spend a few hours sitting on the floor. They have perhaps the best record store staff in town. They're always engaging their customers on Facebook with prizes and giveaways, and they're very friendly in person too! And they engage the community with regular live events and performances. A great stop if you're ever in Pleasant Ridge. read more

As far as music stores go, this place is top notch. Affordable. Friendly. Rare. Eclectic. Literally something for everybody! They have more vinyl records then I think I have ever seen, anywhere! Even back in the vinyl/cassette age! They even have 8-tracks for sale. Now if thats not rare I don't know what is. They have a great Local Artist section if you're looking for that band you heard down at Party in the Park over the summer, or just out on the town one evening, you can almost bet you'd find it here. They've got T-shirts, cd's, music movies, 8-tracks, records, cassettes, just about anything you could need! They're incredibly helpful, and know what they're talking about. A true Cincinnati music store staple if there ever was one, Everybody's Records holds something for EVERYBODY! Tons of titles in every genre and a selection that seems the be growing all the time. Tons of vinyls, CD's, t-shirts, vinyl players, accessories, buttons, patches, incense... The hits just keep on coming! My lady and I have been making frequent stops here for a great vinyl fix and we're NEVER disappointed. We always find new additions to our growing collection and feel kids in a candy store just browsing it all. We just have fun discovering all the goodies here! Their hours posted are incorrect, at least for Saturday. Drove two and a half hours to get there when they were scheduled to open at 10 but when I showed up, it really opens at 11. So if you're driving long distance, be sure to call first. I passed the time with a friendly conversation with another person who got there early. Once inside, it's an awesome store. New vinyl and CDs are in the right part of the store. Used to the left. And there is a LOT of both. It's set up a little different to other stores I've been in, but once you figure out the way it's laid out, it's a breeze. I feel like the most popular name among local record stores is "Shake It," but I personally prefer Everybody's. (As another person said..."I love Everybody's because it isn't Shake It.") It's hard to write a review about these places without comparing and contrasting them, but they each have qualities the other doesn't. Believe me, I have dropped my fair share of coin at both operations, but Shake It caters to more of the Alt/Indie crowd, and Everybody's seems to have something for... *wait for it*... EVERYBODY. I love my pop music, and I love bargain classics and they have the best selection of both. You'll find a TON of $0.99 albums, perfect for people just starting to find their way into vinyl. And the classics are reasonably priced as well. Parking is non existent, other than the 3 metered street spots in front of the building, but I have never got in trouble for parking at the burger king down the street. *knock on wood* They always do a nice job on Record Store Day with live music and snacks. They make it feel like an experience, and want you to hang out at the record store for RSD versus the factory like In/Out single file line of other stores on RSD. Blessed are we Cincinnatians to have not one, but two amazing record stores in our city! Although Shake It Records in Northside seems to be a little bit more favored by most, Everybody's Records pulls in a very very close second. Let me start off by saying that the reason I love Everybody's is because it isn't Shake It. Don't get me wrong I love Shake It Records just as much as the next music nerd, but sometimes a little change can be a very good thing! The first difference you will notice is that Everybody's seems a little bit more adult/less full of hipsters than Shake It usually is which gives the store a very laid back vibe. For us quiet reserved type, it can be a nice change of pace to search in peace without feeling like the guy two rows over in his Urban Outfitters uniform is judging every move we make. Second, although the selection at both stores is wonderful and overlaps quite a bit, Everybody's tends to carry a different variety of music than you find across town at Shake It. For me, this is most noticeable in their Hip Hop vinyl selection. While Everybody's appears to be the DJ dumping ground of the tri-state for hip hop, Shake It is very sorely lacking in the department. Don't let the reviews fool you into thinking that Shake It Records is the only record store in Cincinnati worth visiting. Give Everybody's a try and I promise you will not walk out disappointed! I like Everybodys Records alot more than I actually shop there. Maybe it's because I'm not in the neighborhood much or maybe it's because of the large amount of time I find myself at Shake It Records, but when I do make the trip, it's always worth it. Everybody's has been around a long time and in the decades of it's existence, not much has changed. The vinyl selection is excellent, just a notch below Shake It and what is really nice is that you can find some real gems in the crates you won't find at Shake It. The reason is that they draw less of a hipster crowd and as a result some items that would blow right out of another store will still be around at Everybodys months later. Everybody's is a classic independent record store that has lived up to it's name time and time again. I vividly remember my first trip to Everybody's. A burgeoning 8th grader with an eclectic (sometimes awkward) taste in music, my brother dragged me and my best friend to Everybody's and my eyes grew a little wider, and my taste in music, a little better. I left the store anticipating the first playthrough of Jimmy Eat World's "Clarity." It honestly changed the way I approach music, and Everybody's played no small part in that. I feel like Everybody's is really underrated for how awesome of a record store they are. Everybody's has a great selection of both new and used records. Not only do they have a great selection of records, but they also have a great selection of Cassettes, Music DVDS, CDS and other random music related things like buttons, patches, and zines. The prices are always really fair and I've never come across anything here where I look at the price and cringe and think "Yikes." The guys who work here are always really cool, nice, and non judgemental. I know, I know, not every record store has Jack Black in High Fidelity working behind the counter but It does happen a lot. A handful of months ago I was at Everybody's and was in hope of finding Walk The Moon's new album. One of the guys working went to go look for the album for me, and came back with the sad news that they were all sold out. Then when we were sadly checking out my boyfriend mentioned to the guy who was checking us out that I really was looking for that album, and like magic that guy pulled the last copy they had out from behind the counter and made me the happiest person in the world. haha. He looked generally thrilled that I was so excited about it. That in return, made me even more happy. I think that Everybody's is my second favorite record store to get lost in next to Shake-It when you are looking for a new record. With that being said, I suggest you go get lost here sometime. read more

I went here as part of my spontaneous road trip to see Over The Rhine last spring. My friends took me here after we went to Shake It. Everybodys is very well laid out and its easy to figure out where everything is. They had a really good selection of used rock and jazz CD's and LP's. I managed to find some really good albums in the used bins that I'd been hunting for quite a while. The other thing that was really cool was that they had mini review stations where you could dial up a review on an artist from allmusic.com if I"m remembering right. I'll be back. I just need to watch my credit card. Otherwise it'll be smokin again. read more

If you've looking for unique and someplace with a large variety of older used or new Cds or Vinyl's, this is definitely the place to go. People seemed friendly and willing to help. read more

I came in here yesterday to pickup some vinyls as a birthday gift and it was my first time there. I love everything about this place! 1. The atmosphere was pretty eclectic and had the cozy feel of a household basement. I also was digging the incense. 2. The music selection included everything from old to new and all major genres in vinyl, cassette, CD. 3. SO ORGANIZED. I appreciate being to easily navigate an organized store, and this makes shopping here easy whether you just want to browse or if you already know what you're looking for. 4. VERY reasonable prices! I chose to come here for vinyls because all of the positive reviews on their pricing and they rang true. Everybody's is the best record store in Cincinnati. I've been to Shake It a few times as well, and while good, I felt Everybody's has a better selection of vinyl. The prices were more affordable, too. It's easy to browse through the records here and it's really well organized. If you're looking to add to a collection, they've got some rare items, too, like a blue-vinyl Beatles' Greatest Hits, or a color-vinyl Velvet underground. I live on the west side, but the drive to Norwood is worth it for this shop. read more

I visited Everybody's Records the same day as I visited Shake It Records, because it seemed as though they were the only game in town as far as record stores in Cincinnati. Everybody's was my favorite by a very slim margin. Whereas Shake It felt like it catered more to people into indie and lesser-known groups, Everybody's has a selection that appeals more to the masses. I found their CD selection to be quite good, but more pricey than I would care to pay for most of the items. I LOVED the selection in the Used CD section, but I don't think that every CD should be priced at $6.98. It doesn't seem right considering I bought one of the CDs they had listed for that much at Zia Records for $1.99. Nonetheless, there were some good CDs to be found. They also had an alright clearance CD rack. I want to say they had some good deals for $2.99 and $3.99. I ended up taking home a Used copy of Mushroomhead's "Superbuick" for $6.98. I was hoping to pick up all of Mushroomhead's indie releases while in Ohio just because I figured they'd be easier to find in their home state as compared to Nevada. One down, just a handful to go! Much like Shake It, I don't think I'll frequent this shop on every trip to Cincinnati. Maybe once a month or so. Not a bad store! read more

This is my favorite record store in the Cincinnati area. I've tried the rest, this is the best. But I have heavy bias because I've been shopping here since I first started liking music in my teens, so I've got lots of good memories here. Suffice to say, I have never been disappointed in the selection and opportunities to find great stuff here. Especially since lately I mostly buy used (because it's more fun and more cheap), Everybody's is a solid place to check out used vinyl or CDs. The new vinyl selection is not bad either, with a respectable indie and punk section. But of course the crown jewel of this place is the very helpful and nice staff. Unlike other record stores where you feel like you're being judged by employees for your clearly uncool choices, these guys are just straight-up cool about it all and realize that everybody needs a little Linkin Park in their collection.
