Okay so I went to Everything Iz Good and got the oxtails, cabbage, and mac & cheese. The oxtails were good, they definitely hit, just not like I'm thinking about them the next day. The cabbage was okay, nothing special, and the mac & cheese had good flavor but was a little dry. They pre pack it and leave it sitting under a warmer in the front of the store so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. The customer service, I loved it. I can't vouch for "Everything..." but the Jerk chicken "...iz Really Good". Got the lunch specials: Jerk Chicken and a Curry Chicken, a BARGAIN at $7 each. The curry chicken was good, flavorful and served on top of rice and peas. The chicken was authentic curry style, chopped pieces with bone in. The rice and peas were great. The winner was the jerk chicken though. Huge thigh, grilled with lots of jerk spice and a bit of scotch bonnet sauce on top at the end. It was awesome. I will get that again. There is no seating inside, it's literally a hole in the wall with a service counter you order from. The people working there seemed nice and were hard at work at 11:30 in a Friday. Sooo upset I couldn't fully enjoy this meal because the food was actually good. When we walked in, there wasn't anyone there to greet us. The owner (I guess) was on the phone by his car and eventually saw us and took our order. He seemed like he was just there. He didn't take pride in the restaurant and the cleanliness of everything was subpar. It'll turn you off if you pay too much attention to anything in there. As he was fixing my food I noticed the cabbage was uncovered and probably had been for God knows how long. It didn't matter to him because he still decided to serve it to me. The building is pretty small and all of the doors were open so it wasn't a closed up building and flies were definitely present. Cabbage can make you really sick if it's just sitting out uncovered not to mention flies could have been ALL IN THERE. I wasn't sure so I told him to not put any on my plate. Finally got home and while I was eating I pulled a piece of plastic from my mouth but continued to eat because I had been craving oxtails for so long. So I worked myself up to continue to eat. But then there was another piece of plastic in my food. Man I was so mad because I couldn't get the cabbage and now I'm chewing on plastic. I just really wanted to enjoy it and I couldn't. The experience just got worse and worse. I was highly disappointed. The owner just really seemed like he didn't care about presentation, cleanliness, and service. He didn't care about the appearance of anything and I'm sure that's how he is while cooking the food especially if there's plastic in it. My husband brought home some of their jerk chicken cabbage and rice with peas and i went crazy over it. I went there with him and ordered from there myself. The staff is friendly and when i asked them about "festival bread " i had in Jamaica and Malik introduced me to their dumplings but i call it my jamaican cornbread. It sells out quick. I actually experience sadness when they are out of it. I am then more motivated to to get there the next day to get some. There is not a sitting area to eat but it affords me the opportunity to get authentic Jamaican food to enjoy shamelessly in my home. We get food there at least once per week. Needless to say we enjoy it tremendously. read more

I'm not someone who believes that short-term relationships are inherently a bad idea. In fact, I'm more likely to subscribe to the theory that "Everyfling Iz Good." Although sleeping around tends to mess up your propensity to spell and grammaticimicacize things correctly. Marissa is right. Better flavour and more food from other places. Although nothing can beat the lunch price from this place which is why they score 4, not 3. The amazing Jerk Chicken in Rochester would be at People's Choice (a more smoky flavour), who have awful customer service but incredible fresh food, and also Peppa Pot, which is an absolute diamond. These guys are good too though, and a little piece of my heart belongs to them. I was last here roughly 2 weeks ago and have now been twice. Garland said: If Kevin Bacon owned this place it be called, "All Iz Well!!!" The name of this restaurant is ironic because, well... not everything is good. In fact the only thing I've had here which was good was the spicy beef patty. And although I could give the place a 4 based on that, the Jerk Chicken lunch special I had (which I have to admit, was amazingly cheap) I found to be inedible and more like a 2 or 3. Despite this, I like this little Jamaican place close to Downtown Rochester. The guy is really nice and he sells dirt cheap Patties with a spicy beef filling (and others) for just $2. I think that's pretty awesome actually. The Jerk Chicken is $5 at lunch time, and it's a generous portion in a tiny little container. I asked for extra jerk sauce, which really had a kick to it. Excellent portion, sauce and flavour. Honestly, I'd say that this was average Jamaican food, but with really good service. The chicken didn't taste as fresh as I'd have liked, and the rice was just okay. I have pretty high Jerk Chicken standards having had some amazing ones here and there, so you may still love this even though I didn't. But the chicken tasted very old to me (just like at Natural Vibes), and the rice was okay, somewhat moist, but not flavourful enough. And the extra jerk chicken sauce I asked for? Not enough of it, although it was delicious. The guy working here is really nice so I feel bad giving him a 3, but that is about right, honestly. I wish him nothing but luck. But for his excellent sauce, his amazing prices, his good service, and his yummy patties, I'll give EIG a solid 4 star rating. Anyway I'm starving. So starving I could eat a horse. Or a jerk. Incredible food. Me and a couple of my buddies came out here for lunch and we got curried goat, peppered steak, and brown stew chicken. All of it was delicious. No seating at the restaurant; I recommend heading down the street to Cobb's Hill Park. There's some picnic benches. read more

Ok for the price, unlike other reviews I think you get better flavor and more food from other places. The real kicker was we went in on a Saturday early evening and the only choices were jerk chicken, curry chicken or ox tail, although there was a lot more on the board. We also weren't big fans of the "chef" smashing the meat, bone n all so that there were bone fragments embedded in the chicken. It's a good amount of food for the price you pay. Personally, the jerk chicken was salty for my taste, but I liked the smokiness and spice it had. The beef patty was pretty good too, warm and flaky! Unfortunately, there wasn't anything noteworthy about the cabbage, rice, and beans. read more

This food is under seasoned and not authentic Caribbean food. It is literally a hole in the wall. I was throughly disappointed the rice and peas tasted gross and didn't absorb any on the gravy and the oxtail was not seasoned ! As a person with Caribbean heritage I was expecting more. Best Caribbean food at the lowest prices. The jerk chicken is grilled and not soaked in sauce in a hot tray a la peppa pot. Then kept warm in oven with sauces put on only before sold. I explain this because it makes a heck of a difference. Oxtail is also incredibly tasty, if it is available the home squeezed carrot juice is a great way to wash it down. read more

Although the food is good (when you can get it) they are EXTREMELY GHETTO and UNPROFESSIONAL. I went there on a Saturday early after they first opened, they did not have any pepper steak and rice. Because they are not open on Sunday, I waited until Monday...excited to see them open, I park and come in to be greeted by a friend of the owner who was just watching the store, was unable to serve or anything, the family friend let me know the owner just left, would be back in 5 min, which ended up being 20min. When he gets there, guess what??? NO PEPPER STEAK, I'm looking at the man like he is stupid at this point. I try to support black owned businesses but these are the inconveniences that come with it sometimes. Very unprofessional, unprepared for business. I hate to be the first one to admit it but they will definitely not last long at all. While waiting the twenty minutes for the owner to return I tried call their advertised number painted on the building for that phone to be dead going straight to Voicemail. Now guess what...three days later before I waste a trip, I am attempting to call the phone again and it is still dead, after the owner told me three days ago that it was dead, so you mean to tell me you haven't CHECKED ON YOUR BUSINESS PHONE AND IT'S FUNCTIONALITY?????
