    Inside

Food is delicious, full of flavor and wonderfully cooked. Rice and peas are light and fluffy without being dry, the seafood textures are perfect and not overcooked as many places. Some of the best cabbage you can find in a Caribbean spot, perfect bite and flavor. Collard greens are cooked with meat drippings, as are the green beans. Cabbage is vegetarian. Try the cornbread! Service is helpful and communicative. Popular place for delivery and pick up. On top of that, the owner and operator, Ms. Evangela 'Van' Stanley is widely regarded in the community for her generosity and care for others. While you wait for your food, take a look at the many, many commemorations and honors she has been bestowed by the community, city, and state for all that she had done. She is always finding new ways to help others. Curry shrimp is cooked to order, and fish is often available on weekends. As she's cooking and greeting customers, she's also taking phone orders, so go ahead and call before you come if you have questions or special requests. Great place to stop by if you're by the airport.

Delicious and big portions. Super satisfying flavors specially oxtails and collard greens. The jerk chicken, candied yams, macaroni and cabbage is very good as well. Their jerk sauce is flavorful, well-balanced and would go well with any food. The place is very clean and owner/host is very kind and hospitable. It's interesting that they have a poster signed by the crew of Spiderman production. I would love to have this establishment near where I live.

The food was good but I specifically asked for a beef patty and also extra meat. I got 4 oxtail bones with barely any meat on there for 30 bucks. I can't stand when restaurants give you tiny amounts of food it's ridiculous.

    O. M. G. I'm from out of town and was in Rochester visiting friends this weekend. We decided to try People's Choice because it smelled so good outside, and WOW! The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The brownstew chicken was SO GOOD! My friend got the curry chicken and LOVED it. The collard greens were the best I've ever tasted and the mac and cheese was outrageous! And the peach cobbler? The best I've ever eaten in my life. I even bought the jerk sauce to take back home with me. Also the service is fast and friendly. I love EVERYTHING about this restaurant and will DEFINITELY be back every time I come back to Rochester!

This spot is classified as "Caribbean food" and "Soul Food" in Yelp and I just gotta say, food for the soul indeed!!! I've never dined in so I know nothing of the dine-in experience but every time I've ordered take out, it has made me want to come back for more. My absolute favorite thing to order here is the oxtails .. omg my mouth is watering as I write this LOL In Rochester, it's hard to come by a place that served this and People's Choice is one of theee best! The portions are generous and the lady who works there is superrr nice and makes you feel at home. I love the way she puts the oxtails on top of the rice and the juice seeps into the rice. The mac and cheese is good and I do love me a good side of cabbage. I'm telling you, whenever I call to order and they tell me they're out of oxtails, I get sooooo sad. I love getting food from here!!

I ate at their first location on/near Norton St, and it was very good. The owner has catered two events for me, and we received nothing but high praise for the food that was served. The owner is a young lady who has learned how to cook very well. I've had the pineapple bowl, wings (lemon pepper are my favorite), fried fish, fried chicken, pulled pork, yams (THE BEST), mac & cheese, green beans, dirty rice, yellow rice...all of these are very tasty. You have to go there on your own and try the food though; the 4/14/18 review couldn't be further from the truth. (I'm actually not sure that it was written by a real person, as I read the comment...) Correct: there is no delivery; you cannot dine in. There is, however, parking on the side of the building, and it would definitely be worth your time to give Stop One Kitchen a try.

The place is clean, spacious, plenty tables to sit. I just picked up some food to go. I did eat the pâté while waiting on my chicken and rice. It was a bit doughy but very flavorful and spicy. The juices are great. I should've taken some to go. The rice and beans with chicken were a hit as well. Glad to find a bit of home here. The African pate tastes very similar to an alcapurria. A fritter stuffed with meat and fried. One man served us and we had to wait for him to clean up before ordering. Thankfully I ordered Yelp since it was a bit of a big order, unfortunately I never received a confirmation order, but I just seen our food sitting at the restaurant and asked if it was mine. It was....so we didn't have a long wait time, however the food had gotten cold. I tried to be strategic and ordered for 1:30, since my drive was 30 mins but it was still cold. Thankfully there were pates and sambusas in the hot case still warm, so we got those hot and fresh. The ambiance was a little lack luster. Not much decorum or music, but there is a smaller store on the other side of the restaurant. I didn't get a chance to check it out but next time. If it's two things you remember to try it's the Sorrel (Hibiscus) Juice and the Somali fish Sambusas. I would drive back for those two things alone. The sorrel juice is so flavorful and spicy from the ginger. Those two menu items alone are a 15/15
