Delicious... best I have found in the Rochester area. Had the jerk chicken, rice and bean & cabbage. I'll be back.

The jerk chicken is to die for. Fantastic addition to the neighborhood's many restaurants. Very bright and cheerful decor too.

The place is clean, spacious, plenty tables to sit. I just picked up some food to go. I did eat the pâté while waiting on my chicken and rice. It was a bit doughy but very flavorful and spicy. The juices are great. I should've taken some to go. The rice and beans with chicken were a hit as well. Glad to find a bit of home here. They also have a market of food and goodies to buy right next to the restaurant. This is definitely a little gem. Check them out.

The African pate tastes very similar to an alcapurria. A fritter stuffed with meat and fried. One man served us and we had to wait for him to clean up before ordering. Thankfully I ordered Yelp since it was a bit of a big order, unfortunately I never received a confirmation order, but I just seen our food sitting at the restaurant and asked if it was mine. It was....so we didn't have a long wait time, however the food had gotten cold. I tried to be strategic and ordered for 1:30, since my drive was 30 mins but it was still cold. Thankfully there were pates and sambusas in the hot case still warm, so we got those hot and fresh. The ambiance was a little lack luster. Not much decorum or music, but there is a smaller store on the other side of the restaurant. I didn't get a chance to check it out but next time. If it's two things you remember to try it's the Sorrel (Hibiscus) Juice and the Somali fish Sambusas. I would drive back for those two things alone. The sorrel juice is so flavorful and spicy from the ginger. Those two menu items alone are a 15/15

We ordered the Large Fricassee Chicken (with chicken leg and chicken tender) and the Small Curry Chicken. The woman who was working was very kind, answered all our questions, and gave us recommendations! The large entrees came with 2 sides which were the Mac n Cheese and the Cabbage and the meat is served over rice and beans. The small entrees came with 1 side which was the Cabbage (meat also served over rice and beans). I absolutely loved both meats I tried. The Fricassee Chicken had both juicy and some slightly tougher spots but was overall very flavorful. It came with bell peppers which brought a nice bright crunch to the heavier meal. The Curry Chicken was also very flavorful and saucy. For the sides: Personally, I'm not a mac and cheese fan but this was soo good. I highly recommend getting the large; great portion size and definitely can fill you up for 2 meals easily. I loved trying a bit of everything together - the chicken, the mac and cheese, the sauce, the rice and beans... soo good. I'd recommend you come and support a locally owned business!

They have a great bakery next door as well that I highly recommend.....But tonight was jerk chicken delivery. My hubs and I got the same dish on a buy one get one free promotion. Which is a no brainer. For reference, The pictures below is what I couldn't fit into my pie hole, but don't think I didn't try. Lol We ordered mediums. Huge delish portions, for a fair price, oh and did I mention it's the best jerk chicken I ever had. The pastry that comes with it, is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, had a nice crunch to it. The cabbage, rice and beans are tasty on their own, but really round off the flavors of the whole dish. The delivery person, coincidentally was from Jamaica and they were drooling, said it smelled divine and they were going back there for themselves. Nom nom

As good as those frozen ones are tho, they don't even compare to the beef patty I had with the coco bread here. I have been slacking with my diet the last couple months. So before I got back on track, I wanted to try a few places that were on my bucket list. So glad I ended my months-long "cheat day" with Reggae Jamaica. Goodness this food was delicious....I also got a small jerk chicken and a small pepper steak. They load up the smalls...no lie these portions are big. My meals came with rice n beans and cabbage. Everything is so good.
