Very mixed experience here. Working with EVO/Ron was very straightforward; he was completely clear about the alternatives for a solar panels and batteries for our home; performed the installation work all in one weekend; arranged for and secured PG&E to come out and do the meter socket adapter; and the system he installed passed inspection with flying colors. At the end of December 2025 we were told all was approved and the system was turned on; works great. We paid the balance of our account. BUT... the kicker is that our solar generation is not showing up on our PG&E bill; PG&E now tells us they never received an application for permission to operate. I can't believe this wasn't done but EVO is neither returning phone calls nor emails. I am wondering if EVO is still in business, ghosting us, or if there is a reasonable explanation? Until I hear otherwise .. one star ... despite my prior impression of them as a great company but doing this as a DIY project is pretty daunting. read more

We had Evo Energy install an EV charger in our garage. The process was smooth. We had to reschedule once, as the electrician had an emergency the morning of the first appointment. As we were not in a hurry, this was not an inconvenience for us. The electrician who did perform the work was very professional and informative. The city inspection (SF) took a while to schedule as there seemed to be a backlog of work. Once the inspection occurred, everything passed, and was good to go. Thanks! read more

Updated: Ronald got back to me. They explained what the delay was and promptly got me schedule and the install started. Will finish this once they complete. It still took 3 weeks essentially to say what the delay was though. Evo energy is subcontracted by QMerit which was part of the problem which Chevy uses for their offer. read more

The best thing about Evo energy is the installer's expertise professionalism patience and knowledge. The level 2 charger that they installed at my home was done correctly the 1st time and was very attractive in the way that it was installed and it was also extremely quick. My complaint with the company which is relatively minor is that they did not follow through on getting the permit signed by the city of Oakland. I had to schedule the inspection myself with the city of Oakland not because they asked me to but because I wanted it done soon. And then to the company's credit they managed to get somebody to my house with very little notice so that the electrician could be present when the city of Oakland inspector came and signed the permit. I forgot to mention that the installer went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me connect my car to the level 2 charger. It turns out that the Chevy bolt I bought did not come with a level 2 charger and the installer helped me try to me try to find the correct adapter even to the point of looking on Amazon with me for the correct product. It ended up that I had to buy fairly expensive level 2 charger but the installer helped me find a safe one. I highly recommend this company. read more

The installation required a lot of bending of pipe conduit as well as quite a bit of conduit run to both sides of my garage. The job was thorough and professional and then inspector only needed about one minute to determine that the work was first-rate and met all Oakland building and electrical codes. Ron recently completed installation of a 240v circuit for my new Chevy Volt's Clipper Creek EV charging station. I contacted five highly-rated Yelp installers: one never responded; one gave me a high price & a two-month wait; one wouldn't go thru the permit process PLUS wanted a high price; of the last two, Ron was the clear stand-out, altho not the least expensive. It was an easy decision and an excellent one. He was thorough, easy to work with, showed up when he said he would--for estimate and the installation; endured the hassle of dealing w/the City of Richmond's permitting process; and did an efficient and practical installation in my garage. When I decided to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in our condo. garage to serve as an EV recharging station, I interviewed five different electrical firms. The outlet had to be tapped into the PG&E meter for my unit (which involved penetrating a wall), and the work had to be done in a clean, attractive manner acceptable to other owners of our nicely finished shared garage space. Ronald Toledo of System Innovation was by far the best of the lot. It was clear at his initial visit to assess the scope of the work that he knew what he was doing. He was always prompt, responsive to calls and email, and professional. We communicated well during the work, which was executed beautifully, and at a fair price. He handled permissions and the inspection with the City of Berkeley, which went very smoothly (I was present at the inspection).
