There's a difference between good and the best and they've figured it out! I started going to see Fresia after I got fed up with my persistently uneven bangs from a nearby upscale salon and I'm not going back. I have long fine hair which means that something needs to happen to give it volume but layers often look awkward and stick out and just create frizz. She did a great job of layering my hair so it looks smooth and yet looks like it has twice the volume it has naturally. Color: I came in with virgin hair so I was pretty nervous about coloring it and messing it up, but Fresia did a great job with painting highlights... With the bleach my hair looks like it's been kissed by the sun but without being completely destroyed in the process. Overall: The salon has a very open and comfortable feel because of so many windows and the service is great. Plus I love the 15 minute "shampooing" (which we all know is really an amazing scalp massage). Plus they just started using some kind of new shampoo that smells like Chanel 5. read more

I usually avoid trying new hair dressers because of the fear of the unknown ... like, will they cut my hair too short, will they leave the treatment on too long, will they burn me with the flat iron, or will I get stuck with a bad haircut, ok, I sound like I have hair-dresser-phobia....lol. Then, I met Fresia at Evolution. She is fantastic! I loved the way she managed my hair and the tips she offered to keep it looking great. I have been going to the same top-10 rated hair stylist in Chicago for the past 7 years, and recently moved to Miami. I read good reviews about this salon and was excited to try it out. I have long, blonde hair, and needed new highlights and a simple trim. My stylist did a good job with the color but that's about it. She could not figure out how the dye was setting with my hair, so i went back and forth to the washing station 4 different times. Very frustrating. Once we finally got the dye washed out--2 hours later--she had to ASK me if I was also going to want my hair blow-dryed and styled. Doesn't seem very "upscale" to me for them to have to ask if you don't want to leave with your hair sopping wet. I told her specifically that I only wanted a trim because i had been growing my hair for 2 years (getting trims in between) and it was finally at a length I really liked. She said she understood, but then went ahead took her first snip of over 4 inches. I also told her that I did NOT want any layers added. She proceeded to add layers (unbeknownst to me), the shortest landing right at my chin line. Long story short, the way she styled my hair was fine, so I could not tell how short she had actually cut it until I got home and washed it myself the next day. At least 5 inches of hair gone, and multiple, unwanted layers that, to be honest, look like a mullet. Not to mention... they offered me "20% off" since it was my first time, but it still cost $215... WTHeck. I do not reccommend this salon. If you want someone you can trust.... go somewhere else. read more

First time going here. Will not ever return. I am growing my hair out, and the top of my head is much longer than the sides. I wanted a *trim* to even things out, and blend it a little bit so that everything is proportionate. I told the stylist exactly: I don't want to lose any length that I don't have to, but I am okay with trimming whatever needs to be trimmed to EVEN it all out and blend it, since the top is 5x longer than the sides. I was in the chair for 14 minutes. While my bangs were slightly uneven before, they followed my brow line nicely. Post-cut, the centre section of the bangs goes down to my nose, while the left side ends just above the brow and the right side ends underneath my lower eyelashes. I am astonished and revolted. This is totally unacceptable. In what universe is that even? Is as if a lawnmower went down the left and right sides of the top of my head and left the centre section as is. I have fine, curly hair, so it is difficult to cover up any mistakes ... and now my head is full of them. I am SO upset. I was very hopeful when I walked in, and I left feeling one of Edward Scissorhands' hedges. read more

I really like this place, lots of light, nice energy. Next time I will be doing there also my nails and the facial. What a great place, the service was excellent. The place is located on Coral Way but they have parking and entrance in the back of the building. I came here for a haircut, styling, manicure and pedicure. They use great product and no Chinese people doing your nails. They use Essie nail polish for you Essie lovers. They have all the new exciting colors. Once I arrived I was greeted with a drink and sushi. They were having a happy hour promotion event. Yummy! I was then lead by the owner to get my pedicure. She presented her to me with names and all I felt special. The girl was really nice and efficient and she did my manicure as well. Very nice job too. They then sent me to my funny stylist that brought me another drink. She asked me what I wanted and made recommendation as to my need. My haircut came out fabulous. Everything came out to 120 dollars but lucky me I had a gift certificate. But I will definitely be back. I always felt welcomed and well taken cared of and not rushed. Beware of overbooked appointments. Even with an appointment and the fact that I was a returning customer I was treated like I was a last minute walk in. I went in for the 4th time for my routine touch up of highlights and lowlights and blow dry. It was my scheduled 1 week away touch up before my wedding and Alex was aware of this. He just gave me a ton of new highlights and when he washed my hair grudgingly because usually he has someone else wash but everyone was busy that day. He then let me know that he simply wouldn't have time to dry my hair because there were too many walk ins waiting. I explained that I needed to see the color dry, because with my hair wet it was impossible to see the end result. He insisted that if I wanted a blow dry I would have to come back in 4 hours or so. I was infuriated, I paid and left, I did not leave any tip that day. I went home and immediately blow dried my hair and I was so disappointed with my color. It was extremely light, I was too blonde, and now I was exactly 7 days from my wedding. I was extremely upset. Thankfully I found a colorist contact later in the week from a friend and she did an amazing job and I went back to my more natural brown with some highlights. read more

The culture of this salon is not for me! I am new here, from the Northeast and have expectations for salon professionalism that apparently do not exist at this salon. The culture of the salon is yak yak yak, visit visit visit - client gets to just sit there and wait for the stylist to stop visiting and yakking and begin their work. No such luck! During my appointment, which is my time, for me, a treat for me - my stylist allowed & encouraged another person to interrupt my appointment, start visiting and sharing photos, yak, yak; while I waited, then stylist visited with her co-worker, the receptionist, then finally came back and proceeded to start dumping all her personal issues, info, etc on me, the client! I barely got a word in, but I when I did, I was very specific about what I wanted - but got none of it! My specific request for should length hair, never registered because the stylist was too busy talking and visiting. My hoped for peaceful, relaxing treat for me was stolen by the stylist - it was all about the stylist and their life! What should have taken 40 minutes took an hour and forty minutes, my hair turned out 3-4 inches too short, with chunky weird layers on top and back - a Dutch-boy choppy layered bob - FUN! It's disgusting. What's more disgusting is I paid $75 plus a generous tip to have my hair ruined, my time wasted, and now a 3-month growing out period all because the stylist never stopped talking long enough to pay attention to their job and what I requested! I'll never go back - talky yakky stylists are not focused; they don't pay attention to what they're doing, they talk and cut, talk and cut, and talk and cut - until you're bobbed! This stylist was the most self-involved I've ever experienced. I guess they can be good, but I'll never know because I'm never going back! But there's hope! Someone just referred me to another stylist, saying, "they don't talk, they just work." I'm there! read more

I was definitely disappointed in my experience at Evolution Spa, For the price you pay for a pedicure I would have expected a much better experience. The nail tech didn't speak English practically at all making it very hard to communicate since I don't speak Spanish and she cut me twice making me bleed. The massage is usually my favorite part of getting a pedicure and she barely massaged my legs for not even 20 seconds. The overall salon was clean but the employees that weren't with clients were quite loud chatting at the check in desk with each other making it a little hard to relax. read more

I have been going to this salon for 2 years, my hair was very damaged from highlights. I decided to go back to my natural brown color and find that their products are very gentle on the hair. My daughter always gets her haircut with Fresia and she absolutely loves her airy feel when she gets her blow dry. I have to say no one cuts my daughter's long hair as good as she does. I decided to try Fresia yesterday and was completely in love with my new haircut, blow dry and the cellophane she applied! It may be a little pricey but definitely worth it! read more

Once we fond the place which wasn't easy considering there are no signs, we traveled down a narrow extremely smelly back corridor from the garage to the salon's literally back door (we were told to enter this way). While we were waiting a beggar women claiming she had some illness came into the salon to beg us to buy her beads, she went around to every patron in full sight of the staff and no one asked her to leave. Once we eventually were taken for one manicure and a pedicure we found we could not communicate with the staff assigned to us. I said hello and asked where I should go to a women who had a look of total confusion. We had to get another member of the staff to translate for the both of us. The manicurist though was extremely nice and did do a nice job.---It was an experience I will not repeat.
