I had a perm done here about a year ago, not sure who did it, but it was about the best I ever had (in over twenty years!)!
Gonna go back again, since I now live in the area, and get another perm. When I find out who did it, will post their name.
My mother had her hair done here as well, and also got a great 'do. She's been back as well, and happy with her results.
We are used to going to Nuevo Progreso for manicures and 'dos, because it's so much fun to go there, and the prices are half American prices.
But for my next perm, hoping to get another by same hairdresser.
UPDATED JANUARY 2015: My mother goes there, and they shampoo her head twice for no extra charge. She has a bad arm, and cannot reach to shampoo her head.
I still go to Nuevo Progreso for my pedicures and hair styling, though. Half the price, and so much fun!
UPDATED OCTOBER 2015: Wanted my gray hair foil wrapped w two blonde colors. Ismelda was recommended. If she was so good, why did she have her sister what to do? I showed pix of the blonde colors, and showed the blonde color swatches I wanted in my hair. After washing it out and putting me in front of the mirror, I was shocked! Black streaks in it! And after drying it, it was just as bad! It was so ugly, I was too embarrassed to go to Zumba, or dancing. Finally did go be seen in public by friends, and no one liked it.
So went back the next week to ask what they could do to make it blonder, not dirt brown. So Ismeld put some shampoo stuff in it, and it all turned brown -- no more gray highlights anywhere. UGLIER! I asked again, is there anything they can do, I'd pay extra for it? They said yup, and shampooed it again. Just as bad, if not worse.
So I go to pay, and she says $38!!!! Then she rings up the charges, and rung it up for $20, and said I should put $18 in the tip section. I said NO TIP! They said they can't change the credit card transaction. I wrote on top of the receipt the *18, and crossed out the tip line.
Anyway, about the worst hair job ever, in 30 years of beauty parlors! Then it appeared they tried to get an $18 tip!
And when I go around town to activities in the mobile home parks, I see all these little old ladies with the same haircut. I say "I bet Cindy at Evolutions does your hair..." and 80% of the time they say yes! She does every haircut the same. So if you wanna look like every other lady in town, see Cindy.
I went to a beauty parlor about 3 blocks north of Expressway 83 and Tower Road, on the west side of the street next to my Zumba place. A child care center just south of it. Angie did something to my hair, shampooing, and got it back to blondie color again! And she charged like only $20! My friend goes there, too, and her hair is always beautiful, and stays in place for a week, she says. This is my new go-to place!
I went back to Evolutions to give them the credit card dispute I submitted. I walked in, and the sister said: "See how nice your hair looks!" I told her someone else fixed the horrid job Ismelda did on me, for like only $20.
