Over the years, I eventually hit a stall and regained 30 pounds. I had thought about the revision, but a lot of insurances will not cover it or would require a lengthy explanation as to why it is needed. I have no comorbidities outside of the BMI. UB made this process so effortless, and they offered so much ease. Through my employer, we have Lantern. I was shocked by what they offered; they paid for the whole procedure, including my hospital stay, and they gave me a debit card to cover additional expenses after the surgery. Dr. Jay Roberts and his team are exceptional! The wonderful ladies at the front desk are such a delight, and the medical staff are so positive and friendly. Whenever I have a question, not once have I needed to leave a message and wait for a callback; my question is always answered before hanging up. Setting up the appointment was easy, and the front desk staff was polite and professional. The waiting area was clean and nicely put together. However, once I arrived, things went downhill for me. They had me scan a QR code to fill out medical forms on my phone. The process was slow and cumbersome because they didn't offer a Wi-Fi password or provide a tablet/iPad. It felt outdated and frustrating. What really turned me off was the questionnaire. It asked, "What sex were you given at birth?" followed by questions about pronouns. As a patient seeking care from a chiropractor who also offers bioidentical hormone pellet therapy, I was surprised and uncomfortable with this line of questioning. I believe in biological reality (male/female), and this conflicted with my personal and religious beliefs. I didn't feel this was appropriate or medically necessary in this setting. I politely explained to the front desk that I was no longer comfortable proceeding and left. The staff member tried to reassure me that the person who inserts the pellets is an RN, but my main concern was that I had expected to see a PA or medical doctor rather than a chiropractor for this type of treatment. I appreciate the clean facility and friendly staff, but the intake process and overall approach weren't the right fit for me. I was charged $125 for this office visit. That is being addressed.

The salt therapy room was a cool experience and I loved that they had Bluetooth speakers inside the cubicle. I tried their whole body vibration machine today which was a wierd but cool experience. After a couple of minutes I tried a couple of the suggestive poses and became comfortable with the whole body vibration machine. Unexpected side effects. (read on!)…read more I was diagnosed with Acid reflux/GERD over 12 years ago. It has been a long journey. That journey included several different medications, increased dosages, all of which were temporary. They never resolved, only postponed. I then tried more natural remedies. I tried herbal teas, different forms of greens (powders, smoothies, etc), and supplements. In conjunction with avoiding certain foods, my reflux symptoms would resolve, however, only temporarily. I heard about Strong on Health from a friend. I was desperate for answers. After my initial consultation with Dustin Strong and sharing my health history/journey, he had a treatment plan specifically designed for me. He shared years of wisdom and insight to the underlying causes of my health issues. I had not found or learned any of this in all the research I had done, however, I just knew it was the missing piece to my health puzzle. I was nervous at first and just knew he was going to tell me all the things I was doing wrong and I was going to have to change my diet and eating habits drastically. He didn't!! He even told me that I could continue drinking coffee!! I was SHOCKED! I had been avoiding coffee for so long as it would irritate my stomach and then I would have to deal with the acid reflux. Dustin recommended certain whole foods to add to my current routine, some supplements as well. He also recommended a book "Why Stomach Acid is Good For You". Just the title alone had me really curious. I'm not much of a reader, but I read that book in four days. Very eye-opening and some really good information. Especially about acid blockers and their harmful side effects. After just a few days on my new custom tailored treatment, I was already experiencing improvements to my digestive health. I was so excited, and then nervous as I thought the results would only be temporary. The acid reflux symptoms just kept getting less and less. Now, this has been a long process. Because my health had been poor for so long, there were underlying issues that have surfaced during this process. Dustin has been SO encouraging and has never been shocked or surprised about any of my symptoms or issues. He has always given me hope and walked with me throughout this entire process to better health. Some days have been better and others not as much, but I have seen more progress than ever! Now, I must say, there have been some unexpected side effects during this process. I'm sure you're curious now. I did share with Dustin about being diagnosed with chronic dry eye before having lazik surgery for my astigmatism about 7 years ago. The eye doctor told me lazik would make my dry eye symptoms worse and would need eye drops for the rest of my life. Prior to my treatment at Strong on Health a small 1 oz bottle of quality eye drops would last me a month or less. Now, after Dustin added a mineral supplement to my treatment, I haven't purchased a bottle of eye drops in several months now. My eyes haven't felt this good in a very long time. They are continually getting better. Another unexpected side effect, seasonal allergies. I have had seasonal allergies as long as I can remember, definitely before the age of 7. Her website says that she "blends neuroscience techniques, therapy approaches and interventions, and shamanistic practices" into her work based on her clients needs. Laura offers guided meditations, one on one sessions, customized rituals and ceremonies, spirit animal journeys, and more. I'm not sure what all of these things entail exactly, but I do know that Laura is on a mission to help people find peace and healing through better connecting with their own selves and with nature. I've only done two guided meditations so far, and both times I honestly felt so GOOD afterwards. You simply close your eyes while Laura directs you on what to visualize. Even though I had a hard time clearing my mind (it takes practice!!), it was so nice to physically feel my mind and body relax, even for a short while. I can only imagine how powerful and restorative Laura's energy is in person when it's so evident through a computer screen.
