When shopping in the Frankfort Ave area, Evolve is a consignment shop option for men. This small shop offers shoes, accessories and a variety of business/dressier attire, although you will find some more casual items. Service was attentive and friendly, plus a nice dressing room set-up. Prices were clearly marked and clothing was nicely organized. My husband spent time looking throughout the store and was especially excited about every pair of Oxford shoes he found! But overall, he was disappointed in the pricing and felt the marked prices reflected too closely to new item prices. He's a guy that almost always finds something he wants to buy, but I don't believe this will be a regular shopping experience for him. read more

Evolve is easily my favorite menswear store of all time in any city I've lived in (Lousiville, LA, NYC, New Orleans). Hank's knowledge and intuition for what will work with your body, style and personality will have you feeling like a million bucks when you leave and every time you wear clothes he helped you find. I went in with a mission late Friday afternoon - get suited and booted for an open house and for my new career in real estate. Not only did Hank get me set up with a well fitting, stylish suit and shirt combo, but he referred to his preferred tailor, suggested a style of shoe and where to find them when he couldn't provide, and explained the nuances of orangutan society when I made an off-hand comment about the length of my arms. My buddy comes here all the time, so a group of us decided to go and check it out. The store is small so during these covid times they only allow 6 people in at a time. The gentleman working there is very knowledgeable about the clothing and helped my friends and I pick out nice suit jackets. I just noticed that there was a one star review left for Evolve. How a one star review can be left for a men's clothing store that is clean, stocked with a diverse selection of menswear, friendly employees, and a fun atmosphere is unfathomable. The only reason that a person might feel bad in anyway is if their clothes are rejected for purchase or consignment due to the lack of quality--I myself have had some of my clothes turned down simply because they did not fit the bill of what type of clothes they want to sell. Frankly, I'm glad they are as picky as they are because I am assured that the items I purchase are of the highest possible quality. read more

A real gem. Clothing that looks like new, but priced way below that. I should have written this a year ago. Even though I no longer live in Louisville I stop here whenever I am in town. I've gotten great deals on designer jeans, an overnight bag, and a Gucci suit that I paid so little for I feel like I stole it. My experience with this store is on the positive side of mixed. The first time I tried to stop by was at 2:15 on a Monday, and, despite signage indicating that they were open, the door was locked. There was no sign indicating temporary closure. Just a locked door. I returned the next day to find it open, and found that the selection is nice, and the prices were reasonable. Many of the suits I looked at were in the $300-$800 range originally and were priced under $100. Most of the dress shirts were very well priced. I picked up a pink Malaysian Brooks Brothers shirt with french cuffs for $12. Unfortunately, I would advise shoppers to check brands and sizes very closely, especially on shoes. I thought that I was buying some size 13 Allen Edmonds oxfords (as the store tag stated), but, after closer examination at home, they turned out to be Bostonians. They also fit way more like 12s. Albeit, I should have tried them on in store, but the incorrect tag was odd. I can still cram my foot in them, but only barely. All in all, if you have a keen eye, you will find great stuff in there. read more

This place is a goldmine! I am so happy we found this place when looking for my fiance's ensemble for our upcoming wedding. The selection is wonderful, as are the prices. They are truly phenomenal, and the quality of the clothing is great. And you can find more than super dressy clothing- there is a nice selection of more casual clothing as well, including shorts, polos, and even t-shirts. We bought pants, a dress shirt, a leather belt, shoes, and a sport coat for under $150. It really doesn't get better than that. We aren't very well versed in "fancy" stuff, but we never felt out of place here, or that we were being talked down to. The service was great, and very, very helpful. I dropped off some men's suits and sports coats for consignment based upon the great reviews for this consignment vendor in May 2018. I was handed a document that described the consignment process, the fact that the consignment period is for 90-days, that after that time anything not picked up will become the property of EVOLVE and, that I would receive 50% of the final sale proceeds, less any dry cleaning or other preparation charges. I called the store today, one month later and was told that my sales proceeds were approximately $34 and explained that I would be moving out of state in two days and asked if I could pick up a check. I was informed that EVOLVE only disburses a specific number of checks per month to its consignment customers and that in June, no more checks could be written. *This makes absolutely no sense to me.* I asked how long it would be until I receive my proceeds and was told "On July 27th, we should be able to distribute your check." I pulled out the document given to me in May when I dropped off my suits and told the EVOLVE representative that there is NOTHING - NO DISCLOSURE at all in their document that 1) Only a limited number of checks are distributed monthly to its consignment customers and, 2) that you must REQUEST your check 4 to 6 weeks in advance - otherwise, you are out of luck. I told the EVOLVE representative that I'm nearly certain that these "minor" details must be lawfully disclosed in writing to ALL customers because it could make a difference in whether or not they choose to leave their clothing with EVOLVE. I am not happy with this company's practice on NON- WRITTEN DISCLOSURE and find it to be a deceptive trade practice. They are skirting the law be saying they inform everyone verbally when they bring in their clothes. I was never informed of this practice and am reasonably certain there are others like me who were never "verbally" informed either. IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD LOOK AT OTHER CONSIGNMENT STORES THAT ARE MORE HONEST AND REPUTABLE THAN EVOLVE. read more

Consigned beware. I had shopped here in the past and thought why not sell some of my husbands and son's items? It turns out the payment schedule is unreasonable. I called in late February and asked about getting a payment. I was told that it "takes a while" to receive a check and I still had items on the selling floor. We decided to wait longer. I had over $90 lost on nice men's items because I did not request a check within 3 months of the items expiring. TOTAL time was late October 2017 to April 2018 and the money I earned became the stores. Yes I signed a contract and therefore there is nothing I can do now, but this is an expensive lesson learned on my part. Don't let the same thing happen to you. read more

I purchased two items for my husband. One of them, my husband really liked, yet he noticed that collar on the other was worn. I had the original bag, receipt, and the tags were still attached. It was two days from the original purchase date as well. The receipt doesn't state the return policy anywhere and I thought a refund wouldn't be a problem considering I had taken the typical precautions in case my husband didn't like something. The current return policy is in store credit within 24 hours. Now I would gladly take credit if a month had gone by, if tags weren't attached, or if I didn't have a receipt. But that wasn't the case. I dropped in after purchasing a 10 for 20 deal. My only disappointment was that this is a men's clothing only shop. There was a nice selection of clean,higher end clothing at decent prices and I was able to find a great shirt for my husband. Total amount due after my deal was less than 1.00. The owner, Brett Howard, sold me a pair of inauthentic shoes and would not let me return them even after clear evidence as to why they were fake. He refused to accept that he could have made a mistake, saying that "we are a consignment shop, we do the best we can." He also shipped me 2 pairs of very expensive shoes ($600 total). They did not show up on my doorstep. I filed a case with UPS and won (even though I asked that he ship USPS and insure them for that value). However, he had not insured the shoes for the full value, only the $100 that automatically came with the shipment. Not only did he not compensate me for his mistake in not insuring the package, he kept the refund check from UPS! Thanks to him, I am out $900. I have been going to Evolve for about 2 years now. I love a good deal and my name brand apparel. They have all my favorite brands including my Brooke Brothers!! Most consignments I have been to around town are terrible! They have 80 to 90 percent women and children's clothing. But Evolve has 100%. Great prices and great quality clothing.
