There was another younger gentleman who saw us walking around and asked if we needed assistance later on. My husband had engaged with him in a convo before and joked around with him. We walked around and saw different sizes and colors and we ended up talking to a gentleman who was shoveling some finer rocks into some buckets that he had in his SUV. He was telling us about his project at his new home and showed the ideas from his query on ChatGPT!! Wow! That gave us an idea to try and upload ideas for our space using ChatGPT when I got home. It looked fabulous, gave some design suggestions and tidied up the space even though we didn't use the exact stone nor landscaping. Outside the loading guy was funny and helpful even though his co worker left him with a chore. But the product. That was mighty weak. His co worker had dug thru the lumber to find some good lumber the size the customer asked and the carnage was everywhere. We just went to the stack that was the "freshest" they had. I wasn't picky. I just needed some studs cause I ran out. Wow! Good thing I didn't care. Provably 50 cents+ more per bird and maybe 25% quality(if you ever collected coins and played with grading them, you'll get the "quality drives price" equation). I don't think I'll do that again unless I'm even more desperate. Really want to give them my business and would have no problems buying other stuff. I'm just bummed I won't get lumber at the local lumber spot.

I like how in the hardware department there's a little bucket so when you are through, looking at a piece of hardware, you can put it in the bucket and they can put it back in its right place. In the big box stores it just seems like everything is just haphazardly placed back. The only negative I had on the store is that they don't carry a lot of the things that should be stocked for the San Marcos area, like some of the irrigation supplies that are used in the subdivisions by almost all of the builders. Another thing is on a few of the items the quality has decreased. I was looking for landscape pins, those metal pins that goes to the landscape cloth, And they used to have high-quality steel ones, and now they are so thin they just will not go through the rocky ground.

Did Brad have several of the same product, like say, an overstock? Look HD can absolutely return broken box items to the vendors and get credit, once HD doesn't get credit because of destroyed merchandising not the item but the box, they get partial credit and write off the rest. Mr Brad cannot afford to return to vendor for partial credit. Please remember local businesses do not have the 'funds' corporate have. Please be patient.
