Excel Auto told me the car had a clean car fax. When I checked the car fax it showed the car was involved in an accident. Buyers beware.

Cars2Sell, East Windsor NJ - Where "Free and Clear" Apparently Means "We Have No Idea"…read moreIf you enjoy long games of phone tag, expired temp tags, and mystery paperwork that vanishes into the ether, you'll love Cars2Sell in East Windsor. My mother & I paid cash on August 20, 2024 for an As-IS Used Vehicle... Every document said the title was "free and clear." Spoiler: it wasn't. Nearly two months later, after endless holds, "meetings," and contradictory stories, we learned there was actually a lien on the car -- something the manager admitted on video a month after he signed said papers. When title was ready to picked up two months later He continued to say "he didn't know about it" Cue round two of expired tags, overnight mail fees, and a trip to the DMV so frustrating that even they suggested we bring the police. The officer told the manager he had 48 hours to get the title. That was October 13. It finally appeared on October 18, conveniently notarized on October 8--meaning it had been sitting somewhere for days while we were still being strung along. Turns out it was at their Hillside location all along. Funny, since I called Hillside, after my 1st paper tag was about to expire and I was told, "We can't help you, it's at East Windsor." When my mom finally picked up the title, the manager actually asked her to have my sister remove her negative review. That says it all. Yes, I bought the car as-is. I didn't realize that also meant good luck in getting a title without threatening a lawsuit for Breach of Contract So if you're thinking about buying from Cars2Sell, bring a camera, a lawyer, and a saint's level of patience. Because once they've got your money, you'll need all three.

Last week, I called and made an appointment to have an energy chain link installed in my van. I explained clearly that I would be traveling from New York, about 80 miles, and I spoke with Rigo, who assured me they had handled this type of work many times before. When I arrived for the appointment, I handed over the van on time and spoke directly with the mechanic to make sure he understood what needed to be installed and how. Right away, I felt concerned because he did not seem familiar with the job. Still, I trusted them because I had been told they could handle the work. After about an hour, the mechanic could not locate the electric plug. My sister had to show him where it was, which made me even more surprised and concerned. If they had done this type of work many times before, I expected the mechanic to be more familiar with the process. After several more hours, nothing meaningful was completed. I was told they were calling someone else to help guide them, but still nothing was resolved. After waiting around five hours, I was finally told that the part I brought would not work and that they would have to order another part. I was willing to leave a deposit for the correct part, but then I was given a bill charging approximately $508 for diagnostic fees. I was shocked. I was not clearly informed upfront about this diagnostic charge, and after waiting so long with no repair completed, I felt this was completely unfair. In my opinion, the shop should have been honest from the beginning if they did not have the right experience or mechanic available for this type of work. Instead, I drove a long distance, waited for hours, left with the van still not fixed, and then was presented with a large diagnostic bill. The owner came across as a smooth talker, but based on my experience, I did not feel treated fairly or professionally. Overall, this was an awful experience. I would not recommend this dealership or repair shop. Anyone considering using them should be very careful and ask for all charges in writing upfront before leaving a vehicle there.

I waited in the lobby and even brought some work with me anticipating I'd be there a while (they seem to have reliable internet and coffee). I waited at most 90 minutes both times. I returned it to the dealership by 3:00 PM the very next day. The most shocking part? When I arrived with a witness (a Vice President at a major firm), a dealership employee admitted, "It must be the spark plug again." This proves they were aware of a recurring defect and chose to sell the car without disclosing it. I now have a professional repair estimate for over $9,000--which is more than the car is even worth. Despite the car failing almost immediately, management refused to issue a refund or take the car back when I begged them within the first 7 days. I am currently displaced from my home due to flooding and navigating a medical crisis, yet this dealership has left me financially stranded with a $7,000 "paperweight."

My vehicle was repossessed even though I was only 12 days past due on one payment. The situation was caused mainly because the dealership has failed to provide me with a permanent tag for almost 11 months an I still didn't receive a tag. It was always an excuse why I didn't have my permanent tags. Every month I've had to keep getting temporary tags and paying extra filing fees out my pocket to a company for business compliance called Gigsafe just to keep my work vehicle active and updated in their systems to keep it on the road, which caused delays in my income and payments every month. On top of that, the customer service was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Representatives talked to me any kind of way instead of trying to understand the situation or work out a solution. There was no compassion, no communication, and no willingness to help despite the ongoing tag issue not being my fault. I rely on my cargo van for work and supporting my family, and the way this was handled was completely unfair. I strongly disagree with recommending them to anyone that's considering them for financing.

When my son got there, the issues started immediately. First, the listing photos were clearly taken at angles that hid major cosmetic damage. There were extreme scratches down one side of the car, a dent on the roof, and another scrape on the back that were not clearly shown in the pictures at all. Then my son got into the car and a warning light came on saying the power steering system had failed. The seller himself couldn't even reverse the car out of the parking spot. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he had my sons follow him on the highway to another garage just to diagnose the issue, only to then say it would take two hours or more to fix the problem. After they drove all that way and took time off work, he still wouldn't budge on the price or make any effort to accommodate them. No accountability, no professionalism, and no respect for other people's time. Do yourself a favor and don't buy from this guy.
