I've been here a couple times for a recall service and a multi-point inspection. As far as service shops go (and especially service shops at dealerships), this place is as good as it gets. The team here is quick and direct. Both times I booked an appointment for first thing in the morning. They had my paperwork ready when I arrived, took the keys and got to work. I waited in the lobby and even brought some work with me anticipating I'd be there a while (they seem to have reliable internet and coffee). I waited at most 90 minutes both times. No upselling, no surprises. They provided what I came in for, made suggestions on things to keep an eye on and let me leave. Wish more shops were like this one. read more

purchased a vehicle from Haldeman Ford of East Windsor for $7,000. Less than 14 hours after driving it off the lot, the vehicle suffered a major mechanical failure. I returned it to the dealership by 3:00 PM the very next day. The most shocking part? When I arrived with a witness (a Vice President at a major firm), a dealership employee admitted, "It must be the spark plug again." This proves they were aware of a recurring defect and chose to sell the car without disclosing it. I now have a professional repair estimate for over $9,000--which is more than the car is even worth. Despite the car failing almost immediately, management refused to issue a refund or take the car back when I begged them within the first 7 days. I am currently displaced from my home due to flooding and navigating a medical crisis, yet this dealership has left me financially stranded with a $7,000 "paperweight." read more

Bought a 2016 ford expedition brought up issues I heard during the test drive to Damon and McKinsey I was told service would Look at them. I was told there wasn't anything wrong and everything was addressed so I signed paperwork. Later on after giving me the keys I found out the remote start module was fried so I left it for them to fix found out they said they had to order parts. 30 days later I found out they waited to put it thru my ford premium care and they took care of the ductiable so they didn't pay the cost and labor. Told them about other nosies which I was told it's has a 100k put premium fuel in it which was not the issue the plug needed to be changes as well as it needs 14,000 worth of work to be done If they were honest I would have looked for another car. Worth avoiding. Staff does not treat customers well. Had an emergency issue and when I went straight to service, I was treated rudely because I didn't have an appointment. Then I needed some help using (a) Ford sold comprehensive bumper-to-bumper warranty and I was told no, I can get no assistance because they will not work with Zurich (@Zurich you buying this?). Stay clear from Haldeman Ford. I purchased a brand new Ford Fusion here and was never given a secondary key. I had to escalate multiple times to management to rectify, took them 10 months and multiple follow ups to the sales manager to get approved. To make matters worse, my air conditioning went out after 11 months in which I made a service appointment to have looked at. The general manager JR swore to me he would make it right. The general manager JR called me one day later cancelling service on the car they sold me indicating that he was upset that I was escalating this issue to their sales and service managers. I will be reporting this horrible service to better business and consumer affairs. Go anywhere but here if you expect any post sales support/service. My experience with Haldeman Ford was first class. Living in the city, I had been out of practice with driving for several years and had never purchased a car on my own. When looking at cars at other dealerships in the area, I felt like I was not taken seriously (maybe being a young looking female had something to do with it, I'm not sure) so when I walked into Haldeman, I felt a little intimidated. However, Rich Palumbo was a very helpful salesperson. Not only was he respectful, he also answered all my questions about the car I was interested in and made sure I was comfortable and understood everything. So... I broke down on the NJ Turnpike after picking up my daughter at JFK - not fun since I was 2 hours away from home. I had my oil changed the day before and apparently they messed something up and my engine lost oil and from the garage report, a piston blew and went through my block and it would be lots of money to repair so basically the only option I had at was buy a car which I completely dreaded the thought . I always hated the process of buying a car - decision making to final drive away - but I had no other choice at this moment. I looked up some car dealers in the area and picked Haldeman Auto to go to since it was just a little ways away and they seemed to have a good selection of cars that I saw online. We were greeted by Tom Korenz and I told my story to him. Right from the beginning, he was so wonderful. I could tell that he felt badly for our situation and talked a little to me before starting the car buying process. He asked me my price range, what I liked in a car and various other questions to make sure that he could show me the right cars. We walked out into the lot and looked at a few cars in my price range. I picked out 3 cars and test drove them and made my selection. Tom took care of everything else. I know that there is a lot that goes into buying a car from the financing to finally getting my keys and driving away. My daughter and I just sat in his office drinking coffee while he did all the behind the scenes work. I tried making an appointment over the phone to have my vehicle serviced, the lady who answered my call took a brief message of what needs to be looked at on my vehicle. She said Kim from service would be able to answer any questions I have about my warranty. I called back a week later to find there is no one named Kim that works in service. I have family members who have had similar experiences with this location. A few years ago while I was car shopping, I also had a problem with them not adding my discount to the vehicle I was interested in. Our experience was not great here. Multiple times being told that the car we are trying to buy--the dealer is losing money. Used car purchase. Original dealer sticker showed 13K. Now selling for 9999.00 It got to the point where we were told that we do not understand-the dealer is in the hole for over 3 grand and selling us the car for 9999-they are losing money. When my wife finally said ok we all know you are not losing money-then Harold stopped using that Saleman 101 line with our 22 year old daughter trying to buy her first car from a dealer. Our daughter said the nice woman that she spoke with when she found the car listed on Facebook is the reason we went to Haldeman Ford. For the nice person answering our daughters questions on the phone--you deserve credit for good customer service. When we took the car out for a test drive-there was no gas in the car but Harold told us that it is a hybrid and it has enough for a test drive. The car was on Empty empty--if it wasn't for the hybrid running with electric -she would have run out of gas on the way home. We were all surprised that the dealer didnt even put gas in the car for her. However when our daughter asked for the best deal--going back and forth listening to the typical Sales 101 BS--our daughter said just take 100 dollars off to show you are trying to get my business. Harold came back with 99 dollars off. So for that one dollar saved-you get a one dollar review. Such a shame because I told Harold we would be turning our lease in a few months and our other daughter is looking for a car. Haldeman Ford will not be getting our future business--after listening to Harold say they are losing money over and over----well yes you are right you just lost money. Our other daughter needing a car, my wife's Ford lease ending soon and I'm looking for a truck---none of them will be purchased or leased at Haldeman. I left two stars because of the nice woman that spoke with my daughter when she called Or it would have been one star. Harold tried to slip in some extra fees. When we got the final number of the car-there was a line that said security fee 299.00 When we questioned this fee Harold said ok we can take that off. Then when we questioned the separate document fees of 398.00 Harold said that was the extra fee for the girls in the office to do the paperwork. Buyer beware--Haldeman Ford is LOSING MONEY and since Harold told us this so many times- I'm not sure how they are still in business. CMON-Really! Not filling a gas tank or even putting SOME gas in the car for a girl getting her first car from a dealer-leaving her to drive off with an empty tank--thats how future customers should expect to be treated. Haldeman Ford sold me a Certified Preowned truck in which they masked a strong odor of cigarette smoke, and clearly had not performed the 172 point certified checklist. I don't live in the area of Haldeman Ford so I made an appointment to view the truck to ensure it was still available before I made the drive to their dealership. Giving them advance notice that I was coming was my first mistake. When I arrived the truck smelled great. I didn't think much of it because I assumed the carpets had just been shampooed as part of normal cleaning. I purchased the truck and by the time I got it home the cigarette odor was already apparent. I called Haldeman first thing the next morning and was assured they would get the odor out or they would swap it out for a comparable truck. Over the course of several weeks I gave them three opportunities to deodorize the truck, none of which worked. I was hopeful it would work because I did like the truck. When I tried to exercise my option of swapping it out for another vehicle, they offered me a truck that had a lower value, higher miles, and in a color I did not want. They had two or three other trucks that were truly comparable to the one I had first purchased, but they weren't willing to budge on their full blown markups, AND reduced the value of my truck by $1500. So the swap wasn't truly a swap, it was an opportunity for them to make another sale and make more profit from me. In addition to the cigarette smoke, there were also items that made it clear they had not performed the Ford Certified Preowned 172 point inspection. The cabin air filter was absolutely disgusting (#114), the engine coolant was well below the minimum level (#90), the washer fluid was empty (#97), the windshield wipers were worn out (#33), and one window wouldn't go down beyond the halfway point (#79). An odor free interior is also on the checklist (#64). Management was also poor. I would estimate on average it took five phone calls over several days to get JR, the General Manager, to call me back. Despite assuring me he was personally going to help resolve the matter, he often passed me off to Ken, the Sales Manager, who couldn't have been any less helpful... I was better off speaking to the salesperson. When things reached the point where they were giving me prices on trucks HIGHER than they were listed on their own website and I could see we were going nowhere, as a last resort I attempted to speak to Scott Haldeman, the President of the dealership, but he refused to speak to me. In the end I traded the truck to another dealer and lost thousands of dollars. Needless to say, I strongly urge all consumers to stay away from Haldeman Ford. read more

However, I can say that the salesman I encountered, "Billy", defied every stereotype of a car salesman. He wasn't pushy and he didn't hound me. He was helpful, informative, and honest. Though he spent hours with me and let me test drive several cars, he was gracious when I ultimately bought a car elsewhere. To me, that shows character. Even Lynn, the finance manger was great. Again, not pushy and allowed me time to make a decision for the extras.
