Excel fabricated and installed our granite countertops. The process was surprisingly quick and painless. The crew that came to install the countertop were very considerate of our home. We also bought our laminate flooring form Excel. The prices were better than wholesale and big box stores. Although we installed the flooring ourselves, I would trust them with that process as well. read more

Workmanship of this company absolutely sucks. When they installed our countertops they dented the sink in two places. We had to wait 5 weeks to get the backsplash and then when they tried to installed it they destroyed it and told us sorry, but they were going to have to reorder new back splash and start over. We then had to wait another 5 weeks. It is now installed with gaps that we ended up fixing. During this experience we were contacted about making payment in full before the job was even completed. Never once was a discount mentioned due to their workmanship or delay in installation. I would NEVER recommend this company. read more

Good from afar, but far from good I wish I had read the other reviews before dealing with Excel. It's getting close to a year and the more I look at my kitchen the more defects I see. I acknowledge that a lot of the cabinet issues appear to come from the BJ Tidwell factory, however, Excel is who I paid and they need to be held accountable. Overall, the people I dealt with were very impersonal. At no point has anyone called to ask if I am happy. I had to call them weeks later to see what was required to have someone come out and take a look at all of the defects.The only guys I rate at Excel were Nick and Shaun who were the guys that helped repair what they could. Cabinets I asked for minimal gaps between doors/draws and even showed the designer what I was looking for when I visited the showroom. I wanted to show photos of what I wanted but was told it wasn't necessary and that they understood what I wanted. Needless to say I didn't get this at all. Some doors on the same cabinet are spaced close, however there are large gaps between doors on neighboring cabinets and on cabinets that have a door/draw combination. A draw arrived damaged. This had red tape already marking it as damaged out of the box but the installer made no note to replace it. The installer seemed more interested in taking personal phone calls than interacting with me. I had to have a special person come out to see it and order it many, many weeks after. The paint finish varies from cabinet to cabinet. Some are painted well while others are thin, rough, have run marks, have chips or debris that has been painted over. Most cabinets and other wood paneling arrived with chips, scratches, dents, with residue and (shiny) rub marks. The ends on many doors are "bruised" and no longer come to a defined point.I had most of the door panels replaced but the replacements came with just as many, if not more issues. With all of the replacement doors I now have marks where the hinge has been removed and reinstalled in different positions. The service guys have been out about 4 times and tried touching up with spray paint and their wax pen. It looks ridiculous. Some cabinets doors are crooked and are not square with the cabinet or sit flush when closed. The service guys have tried to do the best they can but nothing is square or flush. Where shelves have been cut to size, the laminate finish along the cut is very rough and chipped. Where nails have been used, the nail hole has been messily filled with putty, or not at all. Counter Tops Counter top arrived with a chip repair that was damaged. They fixed this however post installation noticed another that was not been repaired. The sink cut-out is not square at the ends. It looks like it was done freehand. There are also areas that are still rough. There was one area they tried to sand out on the day but now it stands out more. Caulking under the counter top is messy - It was seriously below average caulking. Overall, structurally the kitchen seems fine (it survived an earthquake), however aesthetically it stinks. read more

Looking for two kitchens for customers,stumbled into this cabinet shop.After working with them for a few hours got a bad feeling about ordering anything from them.While sitting there I pulled up reviews and started looking at posted pictures of thier work.I have NEVER seen so many bad reviews for a bussiness ever.Thier work is awful.With hundred of pictures to back up the reviews.Be warned,read the reviews, this bussiness is not capable of installing cabinets and granite that will be acceptable, Zoom in on the pictures,look at the quality.I left before placing my two orders. read more

We were forced to use Excel Cabinets, as we purchased a Garbett Home. We purchased upgraded options on both the cabinets and quartz, without thinking twice about the quality of the cabinet company. They installed the cabinets and quartz in the bathrooms without issue but our kitchen was issue after issue. We felt frustrated and powerless to get them to fix our concerns. Initially, one of the quartz backsplash pieces had a noticeable vertical seam unnecessarily going down the entire slab of quartz. We assumed they would replace without issue due to how glaring of a poor install job it was but instead we had to fight them to replace it. When they did replace the backsplash, they tried to even out the jagged quartz on another piece of quartz and cut it a quarter of an inch too low, leaving a gap. To fix their mistake and cover the gap, the installer installed bottom caps on the cabinets, yet the seams were not flush and it looked sloppy. They acknowledged the lack of quality and sent the installers out on 3 different occasions with little improvement each time. They initially installed our floating cabinets without the seams being flush to the other cabinets. They did correct this mistake to our satisfactory. The most frustrating part of the process was having to convince them their work was sloppy and needed to be fixed. The owner was dismissive and condescending of my concerns. Our kitchen cabinets do not look good and we are bummed considering the money we spent. I would never recommend Excel Cabinets to anyone and if we had to do it over we would have picked the basic cabinets/quartz options and at some time down the road did upgrades with a more reputable company. read more

I ordered cabinets with Excel on a recommendation from a friend who had a relatively good experience. The quality and pricing of the cabinet is great. Their cabinet installers were good, but the countertop installers however have very bad workmanship. Customer Service is also severely lacking with this company. The sales guy I worked with consistently informed me of how busy he was when I would try to meet, call or text with concerns or questions. For the large investment I was making on my house with Excel, I didn't feel that they valued me as a customer. One of my upper cabinets was made to the wrong depth which put me behind schedule on completion. It has been a couple of weeks now and when I try to get confirmation of when they crew will come back to finish the job, I get no follow-up. The countertops were very poorly installed. They cut the slabs rough and left large areas that had to be filled in with globs of caulk. I've informed them of my dissatisfaction and asked to have the work corrected before I settle the remainder of my bill. Again, I received the silent treatment after specifically asking for a follow-up on when they would be able to correct the issues and finish installing the kitchen cabinets. My advice to this company is to treat every customer equally and to communicate better with them, so they aren't left questioning what is going on and when deadlines will be met. read more

I will never work with them ever again! We had to work with them because they are contracted with the Garbett Home. And why did Garbett contracted with them? Well, they are one of cheapest cabinet company in the valley. And why are they so cheap? Because they ordered all the cabinets from oversea. And it is one of the reasons that they are pretty slow. My initial experience with the salesman was not too bad. The salesman guided us through the options and he was pretty patient with us when we changed everything to quartz a day later. After that, everything was a nightmare! The customer service was super slow and the installers did a terrible cheap job. After the cabinets were installed, we noticed immediately the spilled glue all over the cabinets, poorly cut trims, the drawers were not closing properly, chipped paints, cracks, and a giant hole on the side of bathroom cabinet. Months later after we complained, they finally came and fixed the cabinet. However, they only fixed the giant hole. Hey! What about the other problems? And that trim on the top of kitchen cabinet? We paid extra for that trim and they gave us two pieces that were glued together terribly. Apparently, the order from oversea came with limited length. Sigh.... After we moved into the new house, they finally sent someone to fix the rest of the problems. He was great and he cleaned up most of the problems. However, the company forgot to order all the extra parts for the crack trim and drawer. The closure did not come till two months later. After the extra parts were repaired, I am just glad that I do not have to deal with them ever again! read more

Greg was our designer and was awesome. If you are not offended by your cabinet designer tellilng you when your design has a flaw instead of telling you "yes, I am sure that will be nice", this is your guy. He has some really good ideas and worked hard to save us from spending unnecessarily. He also went out of his way to make sure we got what we were envisioning and asking for, but also let us know if something would be better a different way. Cabinets were installed 6 months ago and everything has been perfect. We used these guys for new cabinetry in a large kitchen remodel in Sandy. We relied on them for the design too since we came up with a plan but had no architect, drawings, etc. We just told them what we wanted and they measured and ordered. The cabinets were installed in March, right on schedule. They came on time, and the quality of the install was superb...countertops too. The installer was top-notch. Every line and every handle is where it is supposed to be. Everything is level and smooth. It looks perfect. read more

I was so disappointed with my cabinets from Excel. The salesperson said all the right things, but then when my cabinets came, it said it had a crown molding, but it just had a 1x2 along the top of the cabinets. The installer did an awful job. He rushed through everything, and didn't even bother making them level. He drilled the holes for my cabinet pulls and drilled right through the shelf inside and just put caulk in and thought it would be fine. He didn't bother cutting the holes for the outlets in my island so again someone else had to do it. I had to have their repair people come in and 2 people spent almost a full day just trying to fix what the installer did just so I could have my counter tops put in. I am so disappointed after saving for years to get my kitchen remodeled I have a sub-par product. I would NEVER recommend this company again. I do have to give credit to the repair people they did a good job with what they had to work with, but I shouldn't have had to have them at my house 4 extra days fixing things and having to order so many new parts to replace. read more

I had Eddie come out and give me an estimate on Dec 8th 2017. I received my bid on Dec 11. We approved all the work on the 12th and paid half down for the cabinets. On Jan 17th I had to email Eddie to figure out what was going on. His email stated that he would have someone call me to set up an install date. Another week goes by and finally get a call back. The lady was very disturbed and demanded payment during the set up. She had no customer service and after the call I felt a little disappointed by the way the call went especially after paying another 1,300 dollars. Jason came to the house at 730am glad I was already awake and going. The install went good except for the huge mess I had to clean up afterwards. Boxes left scattered everywhere nails and screws left all over in my driveway. Dust from drilling holes left in the cabinets. The measurements were supposed to fit a standard refrigerator and stove. I bought a new refrigerator that was standard size and guess what now the stove don't fit. I did have tile work done shortly after. Yes I did things a little backwards but it shouldn't have messed up the measurements. We called Eddie and guess what? He never returned our call back! I guess he doesn't care about his customers. We still had the countertop guys number and he came out with urgency that same day. He figured out the the refrigerator panel was off on measurements and that was throwing everything off. He got ahold of a couple people and I had another guy come out after the weekend and checked it out. He stated that their should have been spacers installed before installing the panel to get the correct measurements. He said he would take care of it and someone would call me later that same day or the following morning. Guess what? Didn't hear from anyone for a week. I had to call back and no one knew what was going on... at this point I spent a lot of money of eating out because our stove didn't fit. I had a final bill of 517 dollars. I called Rachel to see if we could work something out since I have been ignored and all the time I have spent cleaning and the money spent on food. Guess what? She said she would call me back in an hour. It's been 5 days now... no calls no communication. They did send Jason back out and he forced the stove in it's spot. Yeah now it fits but my refrigerator and stove are very tight. Jason wanted to blame the flooring people... they never touched the panel or cabinets. Overall disappointed on the conditions of the cabinets lots of dings and scratches everywhere on the cabinets, poor customer service and no hospitality. When you spend 3500 dollars I'm not expecting to be treated like a king but at least with a little respect and communication. I have purchased cabinets through Excel cabinets back in 2004 and had a great experience. Not so much for 2018. I will not recommend Excel cabinets and I will never go through them again. Just an overall disappointing experience. read more
