When we asked about the steep increased amount, we were told that we'd be given a 15% discount for being long-time clients of the firm. The discount amount was quoted at 5% vs. 15% we were just told we'd be given. It was not a promising start with the new owners for both the price hike and not being able (or willing) to calculate a discount amount correctly. Went elsewhere.

I had not used my…read morepassword in years and if you ever change your password, they tell you you can't use the last seven that we used before. I tried to get the situation fixed online, but they insisted on me calling their customer service. I'm currently in Costa Rica and my phone would not dial out. I tried to handle it through their chat and spoke to 2 different people. The last one was a Noah K and I did not get the other ones name but they both logged off on me telling me that they couldn't help me and that I would have to borrow a phone from somebody to call their customer service. They also shut down my debit card when I was in Turkey 7 times. Even though I verified it with me, they kept having me repeat the procedure and borrow somebody's phone to call them. I would think that Schwab would be an international business and would know how to handle this better than asking their customers to borrow somebody's phone. To me this was an epic fail.
