The Indy 500, or any of the festivities, is a bucket list item if you ever live around the city. I got to attend this year and had a blast! There are a good amount of facilities infield and out, but race days allow in coolers with food and drink in non-glass containers. There are also a lot of entry points, so make sure to choose which one is closest to your seats and your parking for easiest ingress and egress. With all the people at the Speedway on race days, they do a great job with security, safety, and spacing of everything. Just make sure to wear your best walking shoes!

The bathrooms weren't bad as far as wait time but some stalls ran out of toilet paper. Notes - I recommend sitting higher in the bleachers cause it's you're down low it's hard to see and the cars come whipping around. The last time we were there I was in row Z. I also recommend bringing something to sit on. You can bring soft sided coolers with drinks (alcohol beverages too). My son wore headphones the majority of the race and I wore my loop earplugs...helps not to be deaf the next day.

We got lucky and were able to watch some cars practicing on the track, which made the experience even more exciting! The museum itself is three floors filled with incredible history, cars, and memorabilia. Our favorite parts were seeing the evolution of the helmets and getting to look at all the different racing helmets and outfits up close! They also have an interactive area that makes the experience even more fun! Timed admission tickets were easy to purchase online through their website before our arrival, and we easily spent a good two hours here. Definitely a must see when visiting Indiana!

I recommend to every one visiting the town or surrounding city to visit the Motor Speedway Museum and also take a little tour around the track. A small town within a bustling city. Has it's own school and library system and so on. It's a little weird, but also precious. The most famous area is Main Street, which has seen a lot of remodeling in recent years, which brings new business and made the street wider and more accessible and arguably prettier, but also took away a lot of the ambiance and flair it used to offer. Speedway also has very nice trails, parks, loads of small restaurants and shops and of course lots of fast food and chains also.

This place really booms on the day of the 500. This place also has some nice little shops, parks such as Meadowood Park and restaurants. A lot of it restaurants and shops are focused off of Main Street, which serves as the city's downtown area of sorts. There is a nice running trail that goes through the heart of the city. I ran a few 5Ks on it is how I know. This city is relatively clean and does not have as much crime as Indy. It is home to Daredevil Brewing Company, the Dallara IndyCar Factory, and an indoor go-cart track. The Motor Speedway has a museum and offers tours. I have went on it a couple of times and it is nice. You can actually ride a bus on the track and get out and kiss the bricks. Outside of that there is not much to the city. I try to avoid the the city during the big race at all costs, because it is way too packed for my comfort. This is a decent low key city to escape the hustle and bustle of Indy, but if it did not have the Speedway, it would only be a blip on the map.

Oldfields was designed by noted architect, Lewis K. Davis, in 1910 for the family of Hugh Landon, an executive of Fletcher Trust. The Landon family lived in the house from 1913-1932, when the house was sold to J. Lilly, Jr. the Lillys donated the property to the Arts Association of Indianapolis in 1966, where it became part of the present day Newfields Art Museum. All this information is summarized in detail on placards in the basement of the home. The home is huge, of course, and has been restored and maintained to its 1913 glory. I like to imagine living in the home during the early days. There is a music room, library (built by Lilly), dining room, pantry, kitchen. The upstairs bedrooms are not opened to the public. Downstairs there is a billiards room and carriage house. Information about each room is described on small boards. Paintings of a young Ruth Lilly, adorn several walls. The back of the house overlooks the White River. Gardens surround the mansion and make a delightful springtime stroll. During Winterlights, the front grounds are filled with Christmas lights that dance to the music of the Indianapolis Symphony. In the basement, there is a small gift shop that sells the "shirt" and seasonal gifts. Admission to the museum (or Winterlights) includes a self guided walking tour of the mansion. The home is definitely worth a visit.

Definitely a must see when in the area and at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. All the names are kind of confusing. Oldfields is the Lilly House and Gardens that is at Newfields which houses the estate, The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, the Beer Garden, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art all worth checking out and make for such a wonderful experience.

We came in through The Indiana State museum and walked out on the canal and entered in the back way. We were greeted by the most wonderful volunteer, very helpful and enjoying herself. We entered to music playing and people exploring the grounds outside. Plenty of space to walk and enjoy outside. We walked up the steps to discover the play area and more steps going up to outdoor seating for the cafe. We entered the kids play area. I loved the creative play offered inside. The library and all of the resources provided. My grandson had the opportunity to play and explore for a while. Pose for a few pictures and then upstairs to the exhibit area where some vendors were set up. I always enjoy engaging with the vendors and finding out about their different offerings. I purchased and few things and then we made our way through the museum. It was a wonderful time. Something educational for my grandlove and outof the norm for us. They have made some upgrades ans changed some things since I was here last. Looking forward to our next opportunity to stop in and see whats in store.

When we went to pay for the three of us (myself, wife, and 2yr old daughter) it was $90 to get into the pits. We've been to plenty of tracks before we had a little one and are totally used to how much it is to get into the pits- but didn't expect them to charge full adult price for a toddler who was going to be carried the whole time. Especially when general admission is free for kids under 14. When we asked why it was full price for her- and not maybe half price ($15) we were met with a rude attitude from the woman in the booth. We ended up paying to stay since we drove all that way but we won't be back and we will be sure to forward the info on to all our racer friends and fans.

The racing is action packed with Modifieds and stock cars weekly along with a lot of special classes. Concessions are very good and fairly priced. The track has a lot of history and has been there since the early 1900's; however, the facilities are very modern and recently remodeled. Specifically: 1) very easy to book appointments, with lots of days/hours to choose from and pretty much no wait time; 2) the team communicates with us effectively and immediately through text; 3) they give us an estimate and stick to it, but discuss anything they find that we might want to know about; 4) free shuttle to and from home, while the car is being serviced; and 5) they did a diagnostic scan for us on the USB ports, which I was not having any luck with -- found that it worked perfectly, but *not* with Amazon Basics USB cords. (Oh, Honda, you're such a princess.) Didn't charge us a cent. They have a newly-refurbished, comfortable waiting area now, too.

These people are liars. We brought our car in for a fuel pump recall. They fixed it under warranty…read more Then less than 2 weeks later the car started leaking an entire tank of gas in one day. We had the car towed in and the same guy who replaced the fuel pump checked it and said oh there's a hole in your pump not our fault youre responsible for your tow bill and the $200 diagnostics. We said can we have someone who didnt work on it check please. So someone else checked abd said nothing about a hole in the tank they said rodents chewed some lines. Ok so why doesn't any of this add up. They said $3200 to fix it. So we got to pay another tow bill to a different mechanic and they fixed it for $600. But sorry cant convince me honda didn't mess with my stuff and lie to price gouge us. Go somewhere else
