Best nails around! I've been going to Excellent for about a year and they're awesome. So friendly, the prices are right and most importantly they are METICULOUS about quality. For $25 you can't beat the pedicure - especially the amazing foot/leg massage and hot stone that comes standard. They always spend tons of time getting my cuticles under control and my nails always look perfect when I leave. If you're getting the powder dip mani, go here, no question. This was the worst manicure I've ever had in my life. And I got a pedicure too but it wasn't that bad. If you have two hours to waste go to this place to get your nails done because that's exactly how long it's going to take. I actually cut them off in the middle of my manicure because it was going on for so long. Not to mention my shellac is already peeling and dingy and I got it done four days ago!!!!!! My boyfriend got a manicure there as well and he even agreed that it was the worst one he's ever had and he's a boy and didn't even get shellac or any color. He took longer than I did!!! The least at this place could do is serve wine. The only quality about this place is that the massage chairs actually hit the right spot for me and they had my favorite color, which is funny bunny by OPI. read more

I went to Excellent Nails & Wax for the first time today. I definitely will go again. My pedicure was gentle but thorough, and the foot/calf massage was first rate. Service was fast and friendly, but relaxed and not too chatty. It was quiet, and I did not feel rushed. The space is spotlessly clean (no dust anywhere, even behind the pedi chairs), and they sterilize their tools. There are 3 pedi chairs, 3 mani stations, a waxing room, and 3 or 4 waiting chairs, plus a nail-drying station. The prices are great $20 pedi, $12 mani. Next time I'll go for both a pedicure and a manicure. read more

Great service and my nails are beautiful for weeks! I get dip manicure which last up to 3 weeks sometimes. It's a small space and the technicians will get to work on your nails the in pedicure chairs to not waste your time. They also will stay after hours and not rush your manicure or pedicure. I've been hesitant in the past to say something I'm dissatisfied with because I don't want to come off as high maintenance, but they're really receptive and make me feel comfortable doing so. Ooookay here we go. I first went here because I heard it was the place to get SNS, my first two visits here were awesome and my nails looked great. The third SNS I got was done only in two layers and cracked and broke within a week. A week! I let it go. Came in a few days ago to get a SNS manicure and pedicure for my friends wedding that I'm in. I made the appointment for 1030 and got there early and they set me in a chair right away. This is when the horror starts. As he is filing my feet , a few more clients walk in and they seem now to be understaffed for the volume. The person (I won't call out names) doing my pedicure starts to rush it and next thing I know I feel a sharp pain as he had grated off a chunk of my toe. Before I can say a word he sticks my foot back in the water then notices the blood. Without asking proceeds to stop the bleeding with this stinging alcohol stuff. Gonna be in open toed shoes for the wedding mind you. I'm a bit peeved but what can I do? As he finishes my pedi I notice he missed a spot on my toenail, I point it out and he argues that "it's just skin" ... it was not, took a picture to prove it. My SNS manicure looks okay, he did a heavy coat which is nice but later, but my middle finger is a bit wonky on the top. The next day I noticed that a few of my finger tips were stinging , I have mini cuts all over. I pay full price ($60) and I woke up the next morning with my toe infected. I love the staff here, they are friendly and kind but as far as running a business goes it needs work. A customer should never walk away bleeding and paying full price. After reading the reviews for this spot, I decided to check it out for a pedicure and to get my nails powder dipped again. However, after my experience I will not be back. I called ahead to make an appointment and when I got there, nearly every seat was taken and every staff member busy. At first, this was a great sign for me as a new customer, but the staff was so rushed to ensure each person that came in could get their nails done that they let the ball drop quality wise. My pedicure was good, but while cleaning my cuticles they cut my skin and just kept going. Then when I got to sit down to get my fingers powder dipped, it was even more rushed. The gentleman who was doing my nails was filing SO quickly that he actually filed my skin and made me bleed, which he ignored and kept going until I had to ask him to give me something to stop the bleeding - how ridiculous is that...At that point, I had to remind him that while the location was busy, I was his current customer and that he needed to slow down before he injured me again. And after all of that, my nails don't even look great because they were so rushed that the polish was all over my cuticles and skin around my nails. I would not recommend this location - or if you do go, check it out at a slow time in the day so you can actually get some quality service. read more

I have never written a review on Yelp but I was so disappointed with my end product that I felt that I should let others know. Getting your nails done is supposed to be relaxing and self indulgent experience. My nails were started and finished within 5 minutes. The basic steps of having your nails done were not done, including filing my nails. I left the shop and within 1 hour, I had removed the nail polish because they had done such a poor job. Horrible! My big toe got infected after having a pedicure here. It swelled up and was painful to walk on for days. It evenutally healed on its own with antibiotic cream but I will never be back and would not recommend this place to anyone. Beware! read more

Excellent nails is great.. i am a long term client 5 years at least... a pedicure and manicure are $30.... both hands and feet are massaged as well.. my pedicure can last 2 months if i am out of the country Waxing is also available and again i have been extremely satisfied. its not a fancy place but if i can spend $40 for a pedicure, manicure and an eyebrow wax and add a $5 tip ... all for $45., best deal in town.. ask for Thai....he's great. read more

This is my favorite place for a mani-pedi. The salon is small and personable. My nails always look great and the shop is clean. They will remember you the next time you go in. I have been to other salons that do a good job but I love going back to Excellent Nails because they are always happy to see me. It amazes me how they even remember things about my life. I had my hands and feet done here a week ago, and am very happy with the result. I'm an older woman who works with my hands uncovered, and goes barefoot most days, so my feet and nails are often rough. I don't use polish, and didn't during this visit either. . The owner cut my fingernails much shorter than I am used to and I was surprised to find that my hands look better than they have in decades. Also my nails are not splitting or chipping the way they have in the past. The pedicure was great, and I was able to wear sandals confident that my feet were presentable. I loved going into Excellent Nails and having Thai take care of me. Lots of us did. He worked at excellent nails for more than 10 years and took care of so many of us in the neighborhood. The shop was recently bought and is now under new ownership. They fired Thai by text message telling him not to come in to work anymore. They are telling loyal customers when we call and ask to set up an appointment with Thai that he is either on vacation or that he quit. Ugh. I get that they are in charge now but letting him go by text message, not allowing him to work a week or so and say goodbye to his regular customers. Poor form excellent nails. Just got the best manicure and pedicure I have ever paid for! I moved yesterday and ended up ripping my acrylics with gel polish off after a few broke in the process. Excellent Nails fixed them right up! I got almond shaped tips and a powder fill. There are so smooth! No lumps or bumps at all and zero build up of fill or clear coat around the walls of my nail bed or under the tip. The shape is perfectly symmetrical and they are all exactly the same. Very happy! I also got the peppermint oil pedicure which was great! It's super hot out and the peppermint oil was very cooling! The massage was wonderful and my feet are baby soft. It has been months (years??) since I did anything to my feet so Excellent Nails really had a challenge to over come. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks! read more

I do not recommend this place AT ALL! Their customer service is so bad that I didn't even get as far as getting my nails done. I called to make an appointment for a fill for whatever time they had available and the man on the phone told me to come at 5pm. I showed up at 4:55pm and the man looked confused when I walked in like he wasn't expecting me, which should have been my first clue. I told him I called earlier and had an appointment at 5pm. He tells me that they are too busy and to come back tomorrow. I told him that would have been nice to know when I called that morning and he told me, "I don't have your phone number," like it was somehow my fault that I was standing there awkwardly in front of all the other guests explaining my frustration. I don't know if he just majorly misjudged time frames or they took more walk-ins than they should have for the amount of appointments they had. The staff seemed to be rushing and distraught and honestly, I wouldn't want my appointment to be rushed and stressful. The salon is incredibly small and the atmosphere was extremely unprofessional. I had not been to Excellent Nails in a long time, but they really earned their name during my last visit. I happened to be in the area and had an hour to kill so I walked in and they were able to get me in right away. My pedicure really was *excellent* and included a leg massage with hot stones. I did not feel rushed or processed as I do when I visit some of the larger nail salons and, best of all, my esthetician did an excellent job on the polish. It has held up for more than two weeks and is going strong. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing nail spa that also does an excellent job, try Excellent Nails. I don't pamper myself all that often, but when I do I want to relax. I went in for a mani-pedi. The next people in were a woman, towing along her five year old daughter and her dog! The rest of the time in there was "sit down, put that down, don',t stop." I wanted to scream. Finally, to settle the five year old down, the mother had her get a full manicure and pedicure, in front of the other waiting customers. Finally, they wouldn't take a check or credit card, and help my keys while I walked several blocks to an ATM machine. Me whining? Probably, but there are way too many other nail salons. read more

The best manicures I have ever gotten. They are quick, thorough, friendly, and really reasonably priced. I would go every 2-3 weeks to get a gel dip manicure as a walk-in and never had to wait more than 10 minutes. It looks like a no frills place, but they do an excellent job. I made an appointment for 4 people to have pedicures for my bday party. I went in a couple days before hand and arranged to have it done at 11am. There were only 4 pedicure chairs but I assumed since we made a reservation it would be fine. When we arrived at our schedule time there was another customs in one of the pedicure chairs and while three of us started on time our fourth had to wait almost 20 minutes before hers was started. One of us was already done by the time she started. I was stressed because we had booked massages at 12:30 and was afraid we would not make it. Thankfully we were out of there by noon. At lunch we discussed our pedicures and realized that even though we all paid the same price different things were done for each of us. Over all disappointed with our experience and no apology for the late start. Half the fun of pedicures is doing then together and that was not the case here. I would recommend a salon with more chairs to anyone that has more then a two person party. Even if you have reservations. read more
