Several of my neighbors and I submitted extensive documentation over a period of months, including photos, videos, reports, and additional paperwork. We were also directed to attend outside appointments with city and health agencies. We were told we had a strong case and only needed additional reports before moving forward so we got them. A follow-up meeting was mentioned but never scheduled and communication became inconsistent, with some calls and emails going unanswered. Even a few weeks before declining representation, we were still being asked to provide additional paperwork (such as lease documents), which gave the impression the case was progressing. After 3-4 months, we received a generic email declining representation without explanation. We followed up by email asking for clarification on why the case was declined, but did not receive a response. I understand this is a small firm, but allowing clients to invest significant time gathering evidence and believe representation is moving forward, only to later decline without clear communication, was disappointing. An absolutely amazing firm! My family and I are facing a housing discrimination situation in the live/work complex where we currently reside. If I could give 10 stars for the help I got from Genevieve, I would. Some back story, I was a member of senior leadership at a big company, took them through a lucrative acquisition, and had options.
