He and his brother have made every excuse to not finish, he left a toilet and door and vanity in the middle of my bedroom for over a month. Has completely stopped responding. Made up a lie that he was in a hospital with Muriatic poisoning. As a professional, he should know better than to get that. After over a week of 0 communication, and proof that he never did things like submit paperwork or provide samples to my building, i take it as he's a scammer. This man is a complete liar and crook! DO NOT work with him! We hired him to retile a small balcony, something he said would be very easy to do and he completed in one day. After he was done, I noticed that he had done an awful job... The balcony was holding a ton of water for days after every time it rained. The reason for this was that he tiled it in such a way that there was a belly in the middle. He promised to fix it free of charge, but all of a sudden it was impossible to get a hold of him. Day after day he came up with cancellations, excuses and stories about why he couldn't make it. The best story by far was a last minute "invitation" to court. Amazing! This was EXTREMELY frustrating as he would make appointments with me and I had to put my day on hold or stay home from work to wait for him. When he did finally show up, he removed one tile, then got tired and said he didn't have the tools to fix it, that his "brother" in Homestead had whatever he needed and he promised me he would show up at 1:00 PM the next day and gave me his word. Well, sure enough the next day he couldn't make it, and said he would try to come by later, but just stopped picking up his phone completely. This guy is a complete LIAR! Do not trust him! First of all, Jose installed a washer/dryer vent for me, which was perfect. And he scraped/redid a botched popcorn ceiling job, which was fine. But the final job he did was unacceptable. We had him install a backsplash in our kitchen. Half was done well, half was done sloppily. But the most aggravating part is that he didn't clean the grout off the tiles!!! So months later, every time I'm in my tenant's kitchen, I just see this ugly ugly layer of grout on what would have been a beautiful (but partially sloppy) backsplash. I mean that's basically tiling 101- you wipe off the grout after with a wet sponge! If it hardens, it's impossible to get off. Hire him, sure, but you have to be on him to make sure he gets actually finishes the job. read more

He worked fast, efficient and clean. While he worked we started talking about other project for the house. Jose is a hard worker, he did several jobs for me and my wife. He gets the job done, sometimes hard to get a hold of because he is busy, he did my balcony, lights, ceiling, stuff for my wife as well. My only complaint is he not not very clean, meaning he leaves things messy, touch-up work was not done at all. The lights he put in my ceiling had gaps in some of them that are very noticeable. He did my balcony, it was not laid evenly and not that great of a job either. Also the price he quoted the maximum worst case scenario was exceeded 2 times. one last thing, he is not good at keeping times, I am ex-military and find it hard to get used to being told a time and that time is not kept, sometimes a day late or more. read more

I was in need of someone to put up my flat screen TV on the wall, so I took to yelp. Jose's company was the first listed, so I called him and he answered right away. He told me the price and when he would be able to come. It took him about 30-40 minutes to put up the TV and the shelf. He made sure I was confortable with the position, and he even told me where I could purchase the piece to cover the wires. He even called me at a later date to tell me the name of the piece since he had forgot at the time. Jose is a truly excellent handyman, carpender, and contractor. He can do any job large and small. He is very respectful and has a wonderful aesthetic eye for space and how things should be done. His prices are fair for the excellent quality work that he provides.
