When I moved in one of my blinds was broken, and maintenance replaced it right away. A couple months ago my garbage disposal started to leak badly and had to be replaced. Maintenance took care of it right away, and I haven't had a problem since. There is new management since around last November, and the front office staff has always been friendly and courteous. They are proficient at their work and they clearly care. The building was completed around 1971, but it is in good condition and some of the apartments are in the process of getting upgraded. We have a community room here, a fitness room, an outdoor pool and tennis courts, and a little market. I enjoy being a short walk from the Gaithersburg library, CVS, and Lakeforest Mall. Weis grocery store is not far either, a bit further from the library. The 59 bus comes right outside the front entrance of Walker House. I haven't had any trouble with power or pests. I feel confident recommending Walker House to others who are looking for a comfortable, laid-back place to live.

Did you know they have a non smoking building?! For someone who allergic to cigarette smoke, this is beyond expectations.. I was in the market for a basic 1 bedroom, but unfortunately this property did not have any vacancies for my specific need, otherwise I would have moved right in. Shanika, who is one of leasing agents, was fabulous..she was knowledgable, patient, and extremely professional! She was so good that I had to tell her to put me on the WAITING list for a 1 bedroom, in hopes of getting in here one day. Give them try..or at least take tour..you'll see exactly what I mean. Ask for Shanika, if she's available, because she is quite popular with the tenants..

We have always owned our homes and decided to invest in other ventures and rent. We thought it would be an exciting change for us. Unfortunately, from day one we have had nothing but problems here. It started on moving day when another resident put his hands on our minor son and would not allow him to walk away from him, while my husband demanded for him to let him go. We nearly pressed charges against him but Sara Garcia, the property manager at the time, implored us not to do so. She was fantastic, by the way, and always tried to de-escalate problems. The very same day, there was someone smoking marijuana on the property and another resident complained to the office that they thought it was us. We also smelled it and this was beyond insulting. To further the insult, management (Carol Oser) wanted to do an inspection following that complaint on our first day here! What a way to welcome someone to the community! We soon noticed that there was suspicious activity in the parking lot after hours. We reported this so that it may be investigated. Our son was still a minor at the time and we did not want him to be exposed to such an environment. There were also several vehicle break ins, our truck being one of them. No action was taken to prevent further incidents. Then, because we were the newcomers, we were accused of not picking up after our two service dogs. Fortunately, we had noticed that the grounds were full of dog waste from day one and complained about it immediately to Sara, especially because one of our service dogs is handicapped and unstable on his legs. We did not want him accidentally stepping or falling into another dog's waste. It all just kept going downhill from there. There were a couple of office staffers, Sara and Ydiany, who were always accommodating and tried to smooth things over, but overall, the problems never got addressed and got worse, if anything. Things got progressively worse after Sara left. We have always felt targeted here. They even have us muzzle our service dogs (which is an ADA violation) simply because people are afraid of them and get anxious when they see them. No other dogs on the property are muzzled and they constantly instigate our dogs. We choose not to complain about such pettiness because it's not worth our time or breath, but apparently others aren't the same way and have nothing better to do than put in ridiculous complaints. Further, the insulation throughout the building is terrible. Every little thing can be heard through the walls/floors/ceiling. The upstairs resident is extremely inconsiderate and will stomp around her apartment at all hours of the day and night disturbing the peace and alarming our dogs. We have to play music to drown out her noise and keep the dogs calm. She has supposedly been warned by the office but continues to make excessive noise to this day. Then she has the audacity to complain about our music (which is always within county noise levels). I don't think we have had any real peace since moving here and can't wait to move out. I would not recommend living here.

After four years as a resident of Liberty Mill, I can honestly say I am relieved to have moved out…read more When I first moved into the community, it was a pleasant place to live. Unfortunately, over the last few years, the atmosphere changed dramatically. Instead of feeling like residents were valued, interactions with management became increasingly hostile, and what should have been routine concerns often turned into unnecessary conflicts. One of the most concerning issues was maintenance entering my apartment without following my clearly stated access instructions. Every maintenance request instructed staff to knock or call before entering and to wait for a response. Those instructions were repeatedly ignored. On one occasion, maintenance entered my apartment while I was in the shower. Instead of addressing my complaint and reinforcing proper procedures with the maintenance staff, the leasing office later deleted my maintenance requests from the resident portal, removing the documented access instructions I had submitted. I followed up with management with no response to the missing request. To this day, I find that extremely concerning. The lack of transparency continued after I moved out. I applied to become an authorized resident in another apartment within the same community and was denied. Initially, I was told it was due to an alleged pet policy violations. When I requested documentation, Arianna admitted in writing that no lease violations or written notices had ever been issued during my four-year tenancy. The explanation then changed to an alleged video received during the week of my move-out that supposedly showed my ESA dog off leash. I was never notified of this during my tenancy, never given an opportunity to review the footage, and never given an opportunity to respond. The original denial referenced "instances" of violations, implying a documented history, yet management later acknowledged there were no official records or violation notices. As someone who consistently paid rent on time and maintained my lease for four years, it was disappointing to be denied based on an informal allegation that I had no chance to address. The issues didn't stop there. After management learned I was in a relationship with another resident, my boyfriend received a lease violation alleging that I was living in his apartment without authorization. When he requested evidence supporting that allegation, none was provided. Shortly afterward, I received a parking notice claiming my vehicle was parked on the property without authorization. It felt as though assumptions were being made without verification, and complaints were being acted upon without supporting evidence. Another concern involved communications from Arianna indicating that apartments would be entered to look for evidence of smoking without the advance notice required under the lease except in emergencies. That, combined with my own experience of maintenance entering without following my access instructions, left me with serious concerns about respect for residents' privacy. Ultimately, my boyfriend felt compelled to file complaints with Allegiant-Carter's corporate office and the appropriate state agencies regarding these issues. I understand that apartment communities have rules, and I fully support reasonable enforcement of those rules. What I do not support is inconsistent enforcement, lack of transparency, acting on unverified allegations, and failing to provide residents with notice or an opportunity to respond before decisions that affect their housing are made. I hope Liberty Mill takes resident concerns more seriously in the future and focuses on rebuilding trust through professionalism, accountability, and transparency. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this community but it seems as though they are going the right direction with Arianna no longer there.
