I went on a tour and although the surrounding area offers a lot in terms of restaurants and shopping needs, I felt the 1 bedroom I toured was too small for the amount of rent, I'm not a fan of off white carpeting, not enough closet space, the apartments looked like they were built on a parking lot. My view in the morning of the particular unit that would be available was just that- overlooking the parking lot. It also appeared that there was a lack of diversity in both culture and ages. But that could had been the timing of my tour. On the plus side, they do offer community events for tenants to mingle. That I thought was a big plus. And the large windows in the living room were appealing. But I decided , I needed something larger and more eye appealing with a diversity of tenants of all ages and backgrounds. read more

Being the only nonsmoker renting in a corner unit with a gaslighting smoker next to me, above me, and opposite me is already a bad situation. Having no 24-hour security cameras in the common outdoor corridors didn't help, either (to provide evidence of the smokers) even after I offered to pay for a security system in the corridor near my unit (which was vetoed). This is a true horror story I went through living at this property. If I could give a minus 100 rating, I would to this property. I experienced gaslighting, bullying, an attempted break in, and was stalked by one of the gaslighting smokers after I moved out of this property. If you are a nonsmoker (they state this is a nonsmoking property) beware of favoritism with existing tenants - even if these tenants have broken their legal nonsmoking lease. When I smelled cigarette smoke all night shortly after moving into my unit, I stating this observation to both of my adjoining neighbors when I saw them in the common outdoor corridor. They both ran to management complaining I was harassing them. Shortly after, I received a phone call from the manager instructing me I wasn't allowed to speak to anyone, which is an obvious violation of my civil rights. Simply stating an observation is not harassing anyone. They even got their friends to degrade and bully me - one running into the office complaining that her daughters were afraid to go downstairs because that woman saw me take a photo of two cars without handicapped plates parking in handicapped parking zones. After returning from taking out my recycling I was astounded to see both downstairs neighbors at my door; one them with her hand extended and turning as if she was trying a key to open my door. I would often be chided by the neighbor opposite me who would try to instigate a fight, although I made it a point not to speak to either of them. A true management nightmare. I was told the manager has since left this property since I lived there a few years ago, but I will never trust another Buzzuto property again. read more

I've been a resident since 2015, and it's been very pleasant living, I feel most of the staff members are friendly but sad to say the complex is going downhill. COVID-19 hasn't helped but having handicap parking spots unmarked - paint fading away, dirty siding, leaking roof, A/C breaking down, water stains, musky smells, and vents falling out of the ceiling and still paying $1,830.00 a month is not a laughing matter. Kimberly McDougal left and the classiness of the place left with her. We miss her. My lease is up soon and I'm not sure if things are going to get better or worst, and I've touch base with the leasing office to address my issues and concerns and they've done nothing about it. read more

I have lived here for two years. My one bedroom is very spacious and gives me a lot of room to live. I love going to the pool in the summer. If you get there right when it opens, it's very quiet! Courts of Devon puts in a lot of events for their residences and it's always a lot of fun. A few weeks ago we had a fajita night and they also have wine nights! The neighborhood is great as well. The Courts of Devon has great customer service, is located in a great part of town, and is very well-maintained. This is one of the best apartment experiences I have had. The staff at the Courts of Devon are great. They consistently show care and are attentive to residents' needs. Basically, anything you want and need is a short walk away. From Lowes to Giant to Michaels to a variety of restaurants, salons, and other shopping - you name it; it's here. I am a regular at the Whole Foods and this crepes spot, which are both within walking distance. All in all, if you want peace and quiet, well-maintained grounds, and convenience this is the place for you. read more

My girlfriend and I are moving out soon of our current apartment and toured this past weekend to 5 new different apartment locations, Courts of Devon being the last stop. We haven't even moved in as of yet, but I have a feeling we will have an amazing experience living here. We were helped by Kimberly Mcgee, and she knows how to give a prospective tenant an impeccable experience. Kimberly is very knowledgeable (loved how she took notes of what we were looking for in an apartment before getting started), incredibly kind, and someone courts of devon bozzuto can't afford to lose. Normally I would be skeptical of an apartment complex with so many high ratings. If you've looked through enough apartment reviews you probably have heard the horror stories and are as jaded as I was when I went to visit. First impressions were favorable. Super nice and straightforward office staff. Clean and well maintained facilities and grounds. Very convenient and nice area. But I expected that nice attitude to disappear once we we signed the contract. Wow was I wrong! The staff and maintenance team is really unlike anything I have experienced in my decade of apartment living. Any time anything breaks or we have questions, they are so quick and friendly. I am hard pressed to think of ANY other business with customer service like this and to find it at an apartment is amazing. Seriously, check this place out for yourself. So far, so good. Had a smooth move from Pennsylvania. Kimberly and Saijul are great. Drove down from Pennsylvania 1 weekend to apartment search. Signed the lease a few days after. Out of the 7 apartment complexes I visited, The Courts of Devon EASILY won me over. Staff are very kind and easy going. I moved down alone and needed help with lifting my couch. Saijul offered help to carry my heavy items in with me ! Overall : fantastic place, great staff, plenty of parking, walking distance to many shops, stores, and restaurants (great location). update: I had to move out of state for work. The office staff are awesome to work with and very friendly Kimberly, and Adam and all the maintenance staff are great. I love working with them. You do not find to many properties that work with you and help as much as this property does. The property grounds are kept well maintained. Maintenance responds very quickly on issues and emergencies. It's very quiet even facing Market Street. This property is very safe. I walk around the the Kentlands area day and night and feel very safe, I love it here. Restaurants and shopping nearby are great, and the Giant Food store in walking distance stays open to midnight. My girlfriend and I lived in Courts of Devon for two years before moving down to Florida. We had lived in Bethesda beforehand and decided to move to the pleasentville burbs situation the Kentlands provides. The management company, Bozzuto, is hands down the best property management company of anywhere I have lived. They are attentive and take care of the property. Rent may seem a little high for Gaithersburg, but you'll quickly fall victim to the convenience of the Kentlands. Courts of Devon is situated in probably the most ideal spot of the neighborhood. Your walking distance to the restaurants, whole foods, beer/wine store, and our favorite spot, The Wine Harvest. It is a pet friendly community and your bound to make friends just walking your dog through the neighborhood. You'll also meet a couple of grumpy gus's who hate animals but decided to live in a place that caters to them. The apartments themselves are fairly nice. They have great layouts which make them seem larger than they are. The cabinets and counters are a bit dated but tolerable. The kitchen in our 1 Bedroom was way too small which drove my girlfriend nuts. Maintanence is hit or miss. Most of them time they respond quickly, but sometimes requests can fall through the cracks. Parking is good and quite convenient. The clubhouse is very nice, has a business center, and decent well-kept fitness center. The pool is great during the summer and always packed. We had a very positive experience here seeing as it is the only place we've ever renewed a lease. You'll love the neighborhood itself even more. read more

Most of the reviews here are old. Maybe 2 years ago this was a great place to live. I have been here 4 months and it has been a nightmare. There is construction noise and dirt from early in the morning until after 6:00pm most days. There is hardly any parking because most of the lot behind my building is being used as a staging area for all 11 buildings. The landscaping, if you can even call it that, is mud. The sidewalks are muddy and no one cleans the parking lots or rakes leaves. The buildings themselves are kind of indoor/outdoor, but in 4 months no one cleans the steps or boardwalk hallways. The balcony is untreated wood - not safe for pets or small children. The rent is high in my opinion. Due to Covid there is practically no community anything and the pool allows no visitors, so for me it is useless if I cannot bring my grandchildren. Kimberly is the best part of living here! Cannot wait to move. Renters beware. Pictures lie! read more

I had lived in the Courts of Devon apartment for seven years. My first impression when I moved in was very clean and well designed one bed room and it was a perfect space for me. The apartment is located in very convenient place. Various restaurants and a fancy theater are located in walk distance, and the apartment complex is very quite, safe and well maintained. I think, it is the best place to live regardless having a family. All staffs in the office are very professional and kind, they always manage well. Whenever I requested maintenance, they took care of them immediately (no later than 24 hrs). For seven years living in this apartment, it was very pleasure experiences and I was so glad to live in this apartment with great staffs. I also really appreciate them for sending my medication to my new address after moving-out that the USPS was accidentally delivered to my old address. I will really miss the life in this apartment and all staffs. read more

I'm grateful I chose to live here. The apartment is located within easy walking distance of two grocery stores, shops, a Starbucks, restaurants, and a movie theater. It's very safe here. I have never heard of any vehicle break-ins or robberies. The rent is fairly priced for the area, our apartment unit is well designed and in good condition, the grounds are well kept, and the maintenance crew respond in a timely fashion. The front office staff genuinely care about the people who live here. They regularly host holiday-themed parties and respond expeditiously to any query. What can I say - we simply love it here! We are new to DC area and initially chose Courts of Devon simply because they allowed short term lease and we thought we will find our own place. But when we arrived it was the love at first sight - beautiful location, amazing neighborhood and very nice apartments. Staff is great - we had a lot of help from Saijul who even assisted to get our short term apartment furnished on a very short notice. Sarah is very kind in assisting with maintenance requests, and the maintenance team is amazing too. Apartments are spacious, clean and lots of parking on site. Whole Foods is walking distance and so are many other local restaurants and shops. Very child friendly area. It's been a few month now and I'm still grateful to find this gem, hope it stays that way and we will enjoy living here for long time. read more

I moved from California in January and have been living in the Courts of Devon for 7 months with my wife and 2 1/2 year-old son. The Courts of Devon is by far the best apartment complex I have lived in for a number of reasons. First, the apartment is very quiet. With neighbors in close proximity there will always be some level of noise in any apartment, and in even the quietest apartment complexes you may be the unlucky resident with a noisy neighbor. Remarkably, we do not hear our neighbors here and street noise in the community is minimal. Several of our friends who have visited have commented on how nice the apartment itself is. It has an open flow with lots of windows and light. Appliances, light fixtures, the bathroom vanities and the kitchen have all been upgraded to give the living environment a modern feel. There is a pool near the clubhouse. At first I thought I'd never use it, but my son loved going there during the summer. A lifeguard is always on duty. The immediate area surrounding the Courts of Devon, the Kentlands, is a family-friendly community. There are shops, restaurants, a Whole Foods, a Giant and a Starbucks within a few-minutes' walk. Several tot lots are close by. The residents of the Courts of Devon are ethnically and demographically diverse: young families with small children, young couples in graduate school, as well as retired and single adults. There is much to offer here to foster a sense of community. The Kentlands has several events throughout the year. The Courts of Devon also has social events including a wine-tasting night in the Clubhouse, appreciation days with breakfast for residents, as well as a lunch and swim party, all sponsored by Bozutto Management. It is hard to identify areas for improvement, but a couple of things could potentially be better. The gym is certainly adequate if you are looking for a treadmill to work out on, but it is small and there is only one bench and limited free weights. Also, I have never been able to figure out the remote for the television that resides there. And the recycling service provided to residents, where recyclables are left in small crates by the front door for pick-up, could be improved by removing the requirement for plastic bags--it defeats the purpose of recycling. The Courts of Devon has a superb management team. Sajul, Matt, Kim and the repair crew are personable and fantastic at what they do. In my experience, repair issues are given immediate attention. There have been several days where we needed vendors to come to our apartment for a delivery and it would have been very inconvenient for us to be there. The management team has always been available to help with access or questions those vendors had. Recently, the parking lot was repaved. It didn't even look like it needed it, but it is an example of how proactive management is regarding maintenance, and how much they care about the condition of their properties. One final note is that the apartments at the Courts of Devon were priced very competitively compared with other luxury apartments I looked at. In summary, for those looking for an affordable luxury apartment in a family-friendly community, I highly recommend the Courts of Devon. read more

This place is fine when you're living there and paying rent. However, when you move out and they owe you money it's another story. I ended up paying over $150 for electricity used for the 6 weeks after I moved out.......they were remodeling the unit with windows open in 90 degree heat last summer. The bill was auto-pay from my checking account and they could not stop payments until ownership changed (a PEPCO issue too). Can't tell you how many people I talked to, correspondence sent and phone calls made.....always with promises to get back to me. No one ever cared enough to call back. Don't expect to ever see that $150. Leaves a bad taste after paying rent on time for 6 yrs. read more

When I first moved into Courts of Devon, I thought the place was great because it is so close to shops and restaurants; basically within walking distance. The staff appeared to be very nice, they held events maybe once a quarter and seemed to respond to requests quickly. My opinion of Courts of Devon changed when I woke one morning to find a condom full of urine being placed in my car door handle. I had to call the police to notify them, and my roommate later that day notified Courts of Devon. The employee basically told my roommate that they would "put a note in our file." A couple of nights later, my roommate was getting ready to go to bed when she looked out the window and saw a young man peeing into a condom. When she approached him, he tossed it, acted like he didn't live there, picked up his dog's leash and walked away. We called the police and I tried to locate him but could not. Courts of Devon was again notified of this instance. When I approached an employee reference this instance, she passed it off as this never having happened at the Courts of Devon...basically that it was just my roommate and I. I felt like the customer service was gone. We eventually found out who it was, and when we tried to discuss it with the employee, she told us that it couldn't be anyone that lives in the community of Courts of Devon. I would not recommend this community to anyone. We felt very unsafe living there afterwards and felt like the Courts of Devon did not back us up as residents. read more

We spent a year and a half at the Courts of Devon and loved the experience. It's a bit of a hike from the Shady Grove station and your commute to DC will take well over an hour, but if you can get past that, it's a very enjoyable place to live. The community is right on Main Street (of Kentlands, not downtown Gaithersburg, as the address misleadingly suggests), within walking distance to many restaurants and shops including a big Whole Foods. The buildings and the inside of the units are well maintained. Try to get one of the renovated apartments, otherwise you will have the old cabinets which aren't very cheerful looking. The maintenance crew did a great job - any issues we reported were promptly attended to. Emergency maintenance was always responsive. The office staff including Saijul and Sarah are very helpful and there is good information flow in the form of an email list that includes all residents. There are a few small areas of improvement, such as the trash pickup times being unpredictable (it gets a little annoying when it's 11 pm and you want to go to bed but you find the trash still sitting there when you open the door to take the bin inside), or the corridors not being swept regularly (or ever). Overall though, this is a pleasant community to live in, and we felt safe as a family during the time we spent there. Highly recommended. read more

You would think Courts of Devon would be a nice place to live since its in the Kentlands, but don't let the location fool you. The leasing office is very unprofessional and lacks problem solving skills. We encountered many problems throughout our year lease, and NONE of our problems would ever get resolved. The leasing office would never follow through with anything or abide by lease terms, such as quiet hours. If u are looking for a great place to live, look elsewhere.
