If you want to study, then understand that about twice a week this will be serenaded by jet aircraft low overhead. The fire alarms will also go off quite frequently. When people smoke in the parking garage, most commonly in summer, the whole building goes up. At the peak, this was biweekly. It's admittedly been some time since this happened, but I don't think it was for any reason other than the winter driving the smokers away. If something is broken it won't be fixed in a timely fashion. When my air conditioning failed in early July, it was not repaired until late August. The gym has been bereft of paper towels for months. The office doesn't respond to any inquiry for days, especially if you ask on a Friday or weekend. Picking up your mail is an ordeal. The office is open only from 10AM-3PM, and even then only for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Posted and actual hours rarely overlap: they are usually there late and gone early, if countless meetings don't keep them. So if you have a class or work schedule that requires you to be present during those hours, you won't get your mail. Unless the office dumps the mail in the lobby. I've seen people grab packages from there. We're they the intended recipient? I don't know. On security, while there are cameras everywhere I've seen heroin needles in the stairwells, been harassed by panhandlers out front, and once broke into my apartment with a spatula. The actual living quarters are cramped. If you want to store your own possessions there, you're out of luck. I barely have room to walk around in my bedroom and I don't have that much stuff in there. I can imagine the triples or quadruple apartments can get quite loud too. The apartment is cheap and situated on a bus stop, but you can get much better living quarters in town for only a bit more money.

They send emails at ridiculous hours late at night, but somehow still manage to be completely useless when you actually need them to do their job. The whole process feels backwards. They want you to pay application fees and background check fees before they will even properly show you the property, which is absolutely insane. Why would anyone want to hand over money before even being able to see what they are applying for? They are also completely unwilling to work with people on even the most basic, simple requests. I asked for a small amendment that every other landlord I have ever had would have made in about five minutes, and they just flat-out rejected it. No flexibility, no compromise, no common sense, just a hard no for something that should not have been a big deal at all. If you have any kind of actual life, school, work, military obligations, travel, or need to leave town for more than a week or two, I would stay far away from this company. They act like any small request is some massive inconvenience and make the entire process way more difficult than it needs to be. I would never rent from them, never recommend them, and never consider any of their properties again. Zero stars if I could. Complete waste of time.

They do illegal things and claim that the "lease" has the terms in it. The law is the law and if you cannot abide by it then you shouldn't be in business. They caused absolute destruction and devastation to my families lives and leaving us no choice to flee out of state with public humiliation. After no attempt at communication they left us with nothing but the clothes on our backs. -I felt like I needed to warn others of this devastation so that it could hopefully be avoided for others. -I also am using a fake name due to I don't need to be harassed by a company that has already done extreme damage to our lives. We are still building on getting our lives back together and cannot do anything about this due to being thousands of miles away.

They make it look and sound cozie but there are so many undisclosed horror stories I've learned over the past 15 years. Sooo many tenants have moved out since Boves recently purchased the properties. Rent is going to be going up, they charge $500.00 security deposit on any pet + a $25.00 a month rental fee for that pet which they do state in their web site. I've heard reliable stories of tenants moving out and still are because they've bought homes with the money they've spent on rent towards their mortgage and just the name Boves scares them away. Maintenance is very slow to respond, one instance, a past tenant had serious black mold issues and they called and called till finally at least a month later, someone came by to look at the issue. Calls go un-returned as do most emails. Maintenance always look like they hate their job. So, unless you don't mind migraines, this is the place for you. Otherwise take this advice and save yourselves before you sign that lease. Just look them up on other review sites and news articles like Seven Days on-line. Concerned Citizen

We lived here for 1 year, mostly because we could do everything from out of state…read more Pros: Location. We loved living walking distance to a grocery store, and Leddy Park was basically like a big backyard (which was nice because we have a dog). The amenities were nice. Not sure how the gym was during peak hours, but at 5:30 every morning, it was just me and one other person most weekdays, sometimes just me. Free laundry, storage (we've got two 17' kayaks - it was good to have a place for them), and the dog washing station (which we actually used!) were nice perks, but nothing we couldn't have lived without. Cons: While everything initially seemed really nice, it was not too long before we realized that the construction was extremely cheap. It seemed like a rush-job that they wanted to put up as quickly as possible so they could move people in. The price for our pretty small apartment was steep, but we were willing to pay because of the amenities. The drywall began cracking almost immediately and we could hear the comings, goings, and daily routines of our neighbors (of which, there were many). The biggest con was far and away the management. Getting anything fixed in the apartment was a total nightmare. Emails and calls would go unanswered. When we tried to move out, they attempted to take almost our entire security deposit (which included a $500 pet deposit). Despite paying on time every month, the management treated us like we were delinquent on payments and left the apartment trashed (which, I assure you, we did not! Luckily, Burlington has a pretty strict law regarding timeliness of security deposit payments back to renters (14 days to do so, or else they owe the entire thing back with no deductions) and my job (UVM) offers free legal services to employees. I had a lawyer draft a letter and received my entire deposit within 48 hours, along with an extremely rude email from the property manager detailing exactly why she felt it ok to break the law in this regard.

I am originally from Southern California and never experienced a property management company as eager to take money without actually doing worthy in return. Their apartments flood Craigslist and comprised the majority during the time I was looking prior to my move. Ultimately I felt like I got a good deal on a studio that was listed as fully renovated. Bissonette also offered to give me a virtual walk through while was still in CA so I could get a better idea. I thought it was a great idea, obliged, and got a pretty good glimpse (or so I thought). I signed the lease and sent them the deposit quickly so I could have something in place for when I arrived during the winter. After the 6 day drive from CA to VT, I was shocked to find that the building was a complete dump and the apartment was severely misrepresented in the photos. It was about 20% accurate of what I expected. To make matters worse, little things like simple communication to residents was never made a priority. Often times I would wake up on a Saturday morning to the wonderful sounds of construction right above my head, construction workers shouting profanity, missed package deliveries (because one half of the building is completely different than the other half), residents whining about parking spaces (even though nothing was clearly assigned), and overall price when compared to the quality of the living space. I just feel like this company has really overstretched the scope of what they are capable are doing given the staff size. They are polite when you speak to them over the phone or email, but I just don't think they are equipped to provide the best experience to residents and it doesn't help that their listings are really exaggerated for what you pay for.

The quality of the building was disgusting, there were bugs, mice, holes, crumbling walls, etc. Be warned, you will be charged a large amount out of your deposit even if you take good care of your crumbling apartment. The laundry was constantly broken and the price for laundry increased SEVERAL TIMES across one year with NO WARNING. The premises are horribly maintained and if you have an issue, Nichole will either ignore you, be slow to respond, and/or be extremely rude. The top of the stove was hot constantly despite not being in use. I was told this was normal for gas appliances so my monthly gas bill was astronomical despite rarely using the stove and oven. My cat developed horrible asthma while living in this apartment and their asthma has completely cleared since moving. It is truly shameful the way Bisonette and Nichole treat their tenants. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.
