During the two years that Tom worked for me, I was mostly satisfied with his work. Our phone communication was always good; his email responsiveness, however, was not always the best. However, after my recent experience with him, which resulted in the termination of our working relationship, I must say I have come to question his judgement, integrity as well as accountability. Problems arose when I decided to raise the rent in one of my units this past summer and asked Tom to notify the tenants in spring. For months he assured me that everything was fine, the tenants had been notified and, when renewal time came, a new lease had been signed. However, after we failed to collect the new rent amount for several months in a row, I contacted my tenants, at which point it became clear that Tom had never pursued the lease renewal. Tom Rotella has let me down in a big way by failing to have my tenants sign an agreed upon lease renewal with a rent increase, which resulted in their tenancy becoming month-to-month as well as hundreds of dollars in lost revenue. Once I confronted him with the evidence and asked to see the lease, he stopped responding altogether. I wrote Tom one last email, giving him a chance to clarify and possibly rectify the situation. He has not responded to my email to this day. I therefore cannot recommend Tom Rotella to anyone looking for a reliable and dependable property manager.

After an extremely negative situation with another firm that I think is now out of business, I was referred to Tom, who got my property back on track and made it profitable for the very first time. He is efficient, courteous, professional and maybe most importantly, ACCOUNTABLE. If you're looking to take care of your tenants and get the hassle of owning rental property off your back, call Tom.

I am originally from Southern California and never experienced a property management company as eager to take money without actually doing worthy in return. Their apartments flood Craigslist and comprised the majority during the time I was looking prior to my move. Ultimately I felt like I got a good deal on a studio that was listed as fully renovated. Bissonette also offered to give me a virtual walk through while was still in CA so I could get a better idea. I thought it was a great idea, obliged, and got a pretty good glimpse (or so I thought). I signed the lease and sent them the deposit quickly so I could have something in place for when I arrived during the winter. After the 6 day drive from CA to VT, I was shocked to find that the building was a complete dump and the apartment was severely misrepresented in the photos. It was about 20% accurate of what I expected. To make matters worse, little things like simple communication to residents was never made a priority. Often times I would wake up on a Saturday morning to the wonderful sounds of construction right above my head, construction workers shouting profanity, missed package deliveries (because one half of the building is completely different than the other half), residents whining about parking spaces (even though nothing was clearly assigned), and overall price when compared to the quality of the living space. I just feel like this company has really overstretched the scope of what they are capable are doing given the staff size. They are polite when you speak to them over the phone or email, but I just don't think they are equipped to provide the best experience to residents and it doesn't help that their listings are really exaggerated for what you pay for.

Renting from Bissonette was tiring. The location of the duplex was amazing, and we enjoyed the…read moremaintence staff. However, here are a few of the many issues we had. The property is not maintained. We moved into a dirty house and yard filled with mud, trash, and past seasons leaves. There was a pipe draining into the side of our duplex causing a giant pond that froze over in the winter. We had 15+ potholes from September that went unfixed until April. We were robbed and requested some security features, they claimed they needed to discuss this with the owner and we never heard back. These were simple things like permission to install an exterior motion light. Problems caused by their "tenant-monitored" parking lot are blamed on tenants. There are signs that claim they have cameras, none have been installed in the year we resided there. Definitley do not recommend them to college students or anyone with a family. They simply do not care about the wellbeing, safety, or comfort of their tenants. There is better property management out there!

Landlord is argumentative and has a short temper - very unprofessional responding to e-mails and also takes a very long time to respond. If they are such a big, successful company with places all over, they should be able to handle money situations and maintenance issues with ease, however every time there is a small issue with either, the landlord would get snappy and defensive and will simply repeat their argument until you just give in. Terrible. Never rent through them. Find somewhere else that cares.

Our apartment was filthy when we moved in, maintenance will take weeks, even months to fix things, or they just won't bother ever showing up. (Even for serious issues, broken heat, broken stove, broken fridge etc.) Communication is a big issue too, you tell them about a problem and they don't even tell you whether they got your e-mail, they just send someone over without letting you know, or ignore you. Snow removal is included in our lease, but they don't plow, which is a really big issue in Vermont, and I'm always getting stuck in my driveway and having to miss or show up late to work. All this could maybe be bearable... but they are also just the most unfriendly people to deal with. They don't listen to their tenants issues, they just get angry at you for bothering them, or get defensive and make excuses as to why things don't get done. This is not just my experience either, all my neighbors that rent from them have much worse things to say. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company, landlords and tenants beware.

Mountain View Property Services also builds decks under their decks and patios tab, which you can view here. https://www.mtnviewservices.com/deckspatios, and this is how I found them. My online consultation was great, and generally speaking the design aspect went well until it came time for material samples and timelines. That was when they stopped communicating, responding to emails, phone calls, or text messages. After my deck was demolished, they basically vanished, and after almost 2 months of no work being perform I had to terminate my contract, request my money back, and start over with a new contractor. Very unpleasant experience, and the owner has deferred any responsibility to this day.

Let's just say we moved in to a not so up to par apartment, but we moved out and left it 100x better than we found it. Promised to fixing things and never did or it would take constant calls and texts for him to come; those projects were never full finished. We made sure we would get our security deposit back, as my partner cleans and repairs housing so we knew exactly how to fix any small issues from normal wear and tear. It has now been 24 days since we moved out, I notified him on the 31st that we had moved out and cleaned. According to Vermont state law, he has 14 days to provide me with a statement of why he is not paying, or a check-- he has done neither. Multiple attempts via email, texts and phone and no response... We also had to pay an extra $50/month for a second parking spot, even though there were always plenty of available spaces. It certainly was not exceptional and unpleasant at times. The apartments themselves are dated and cramped with no A/C (window units are allowed) so it was hard to keep clean at times. There was plenty of closet space though and lots of green space around the apartment complex. Upon move-in, there was a weird smell under the kitchen sink that never went away and some of the cabinets had a sticky residue in them that took a lot of scrubbing to finally get rid of. Some of the doors were also chipped and paint-stained. During our lease, it seems like Redstone was trying to make improvements (i.e. replacing the carpet in the entranceway, fixing the entryway door so it shut fully, paving the parking lots and sidewalks, and replacing the laundry machines). The outdoor lighting in the complex was broken for most of our time renting there so, for the Vermont winters, it was VERY dark. It took them a while to even notify us that something was wrong and then eventually tell us it would take even longer to repair the issue. By the end of our lease, the lighting had been replaced but that led to dirt all throughout the complex and then mud during Vermont's spring. The interior hallway lighting was also broken sporadically and was eventually fixed. Some maintenance issues took a while to fix in the apartment, some they didn't even fix at all. A fixture fell off our light and they just said to leave it off. We had to send a follow-up email for two issues (a month after filing the request) to actually get them fixed. The snow clearing was decent. There were times during big storms that the sidewalks weren't well cleared and salt was minimal. It is also pet-friendly, which is nice (no pet rent, just a deposit), but the dog bag bins weren't cleaned regularly and they would just let full doggie bags pile up below it. There didn't seem to be an enforcement of the rules around the complex in general (i.e. the misuse of the garbage). Cigarette butts were also left throughout the complex. We were able to get our full deposit back minus a carpet cleaning fee, which is required if you have pets. The staff was always professional, helpful and responsive. I was locked out a few times (once after hours) and they were able to get to me promptly.

They send emails at ridiculous hours late at night, but somehow still manage to be completely useless when you actually need them to do their job. The whole process feels backwards. They want you to pay application fees and background check fees before they will even properly show you the property, which is absolutely insane. Why would anyone want to hand over money before even being able to see what they are applying for? They are also completely unwilling to work with people on even the most basic, simple requests. I asked for a small amendment that every other landlord I have ever had would have made in about five minutes, and they just flat-out rejected it. No flexibility, no compromise, no common sense, just a hard no for something that should not have been a big deal at all. If you have any kind of actual life, school, work, military obligations, travel, or need to leave town for more than a week or two, I would stay far away from this company. They act like any small request is some massive inconvenience and make the entire process way more difficult than it needs to be. I would never rent from them, never recommend them, and never consider any of their properties again. Zero stars if I could. Complete waste of time.
