Geriatric & Family Medicine refused to make the minor effort necessary to make the transfer. I think any medical person who writes a Rx should be professional and mature enough to maintain that prescription. I'm astounded Geriatric & Family Medicine would be so petty and unprofessional.

I was told referrals or authorizations were being handled when they were not, which resulted in a necessary appointment being scheduled late, BY WEEKS. I made multiple attempts to resolve these issues, including reaching out to the manager, Paulette, and to Michelle Pace, but did not receive responses. After repeated attempts to work through these problems, I ultimately transferred my care elsewhere. This review reflects the administrative experience only, not Dr. Nielsen's care, which I appreciated.

I had previously been going to the same family practice in Virginia for the last 20 years and tried one other clinic before coming here and I have to say, Wheat Ridge is 100% better than both. First of all, their receptionists went above and beyond to help me with insurance issues and went out of their way to figure out the problem I was having, told me how to fix it (which required me switching plans within my coverage) and saved my number and the date that the switch would take place/I would be covered and called me on that date to schedule an appointment. Since then, I have had issues where I've had to cancel appointments due to unforeseen circumstances and reschedule and they have always been nothing but kind, courteous and helped me find a new date and time that works for me without hesitation. Not only that, but every time I've come in they've welcomed me with amazing attitudes and warm smiles and sent me off with cheerful goodbyes. This staff is truly a wonderful face of the clinic. Secondly, the nurses and other staff including lab techs all have positive, warm and light hearted attitudes. I DO NOT like going to the doctors and having my visit start and sometimes end with them makes the experience SO much more enjoyable. They are kind, engaging and make you forget you're even in the doctors office... which is a hard feat to achieve. Then there's the doctors/nurse practitioners! Now I've only had two appointments. One with a female doctor and one with a female nurse practitioner, but both were probably the easiest doctors visits I've ever had. They were both prompt, professional, but warm and respectful. Most doctors make me feel like I'm being demeaned, disrespected or talked down to. However, not here. I felt comfortable the whole time, listened to, and well taken care of. These ladies were very knowledgable, worked fast, but precisely and explained everything they were doing and why, providing feedback after everything they did. Both of my visits were insanely fast... I never felt like I was waiting for a long period of time, I was always greeted with an amazing attitude, treated with nothing but respect and left feeling calm, happy, and more knowledgable about my body, rather than anxiety ridden, upset and confused. I highly recommend this clinic to any adult and suggest making an appointment during the week between 2-4pm.

1 STAR -- THREE MINUTES LATE, SENT HOME…read more My check-in time at Inner City Health on 38th Street was **9:30 AM**. I left work and lost income to make this appointment. I then drove approximately **35 minutes through construction and Denver traffic**, walked through their door at **9:32**, and reached the front desk around **9:33**. Apparently those **three minutes** were enough to refuse to see me and tell me I needed to reschedule. I explained the construction and pointed out that I was only three minutes late. The woman behind the desk repeatedly told me it was their policy and she wasn't breaking it. What bothered me almost as much as being turned away was her attitude. There was no empathy, no attempt to see whether anything could be done, and no concern whatsoever that I had just lost work time and driven across town for this appointment. And how slammed was the waiting room? **There was ONE person sitting in it.** I completely understand that medical offices need scheduling policies. But there is a difference between maintaining a schedule and having absolutely zero flexibility or consideration for patients. Three minutes cost me lost income, gas, 70+ minutes of round-trip driving, and an appointment I still didn't get. If patients are expected to respect Inner City Health's time down to the minute, perhaps Inner City Health should show a little more respect for its patients' time as well. I will be looking elsewhere for my healthcare.

(The doctors they have now are very nice and professional. It's the ownership that is the problem and the new front desks people they put in place. The front desk staff that took over when Exempla took over don't care at all, you are just a number.
