While some aspects of her care were excellent, our overall experience was deeply distressing due to the conduct of certain post‑operative nursing staff. First, I want to acknowledge the providers who delivered outstanding care. Dr. Bouchard was excellent: clear, thorough, and compassionate in both pre‑operative and post‑operative communication. The attending resident was likewise excellent, demonstrating strong clinical skill and a respectful bedside manner. These physicians gave us confidence in the procedure and took our concerns seriously. Unfortunately, the quality of care in the post‑operative area did not reflect the same standard. After surgery, my spouse was slow to wake from anesthesia and in excruciating pain. While she was still groggy and doing her best to communicate her pain, one of the nurses was noticeably impatient, dismissive, and appeared focused on the fact that it was near closing time rather than on my spouse's condition. When adjusting the bed, this nurse repeatedly moved the head of the bed up and down very quickly, causing my spouse to scream in pain. There was no apparent attempt to pause, slow down, or modify her approach in response to my spouse's obvious distress. A second nurse was also rude and unhelpful until one of the anesthesiologist helped my wife. At a time when my spouse was barely emerging from anesthesia and struggling with severe pain, this nurse asked, "I don't know what else to do for you, what else is going to help you?" The burden was effectively placed on a post‑operative patient, rather than the nurse using her clinical expertise to assess, problem‑solve, and advocate for appropriate pain management and supportive measures. It was especially alarming that this nurse then suggested that my spouse might need to be transported by ambulance and admitted to a hospital, framed in a way that felt more like a threat or a way to move her out of the recovery area than a thoughtful clinical recommendation. From a patient‑centered care and safety perspective, this experience was unacceptable. My spouse was vulnerable - just out of surgery, in severe pain, and slow to wake from anesthesia, yet she was made to feel like an inconvenience. The tone, rushing, lack of empathy, and apparent prioritization of closing time over patient comfort and safety were completely inconsistent with the standard of compassionate care we expected from UCHealth. If we had known this was how the post‑operative nursing care would be handled, we would have requested a different facility. Patients undergoing major surgery, especially for the first time, deserve nurses who are clinically competent, patient, and empathetic, and who respond to pain and delayed emergence from anesthesia with professionalism and care - not frustration, dismissiveness, or implied pressure to leave because it is near closing time. I would strongly encourage UCHealth to review staffing, training, and culture in the post‑operative area at this location, to ensure that other patients and families do not have to endure the same experience.

The elderly librarian-looking woman is also very unfriendly. Which I wouldn't mind, if she did her job properly. She also became extra rude when I asked for the information needed to check coverage on my own. She knows she should be doing this, and gets cranky when a patient knows enough to realize the work hasn't been done and wants to do it on their own. Worst of all worlds.

Today I started calling at 7:55 and got a live person. She told me that my appointment was scheduled already. Had I not called continuously, I would not have known when it was. I would not have shown up. Pretty unhappy with the outcome.

First, the preauthorized charges I had questions about. Second, they couldn't decide which meds I should or should not stay on. Third, I had questions about what I'd heard about the unreported pelvic exams on women during surgeries and wanted to express I was not giving consent. I couldn't get anyone to return calls and I left plenty...until the very last minute. I just went off the meds completely because no one called. Someone from billing finally called. Got decentish info on the SA stuff. I had plenty to prepare because I'm all alone. Had a to join Care.com to figure a ride, find a driver, prepare meals ahead of time, expensive RX to pu, Leg cushion to elevate purchased, etc. Just a lot of arranging the house, getting it all set up so I'd be organized and set up for success. Got to surgery and was all prepped to go when the surgeon came in and asked what we were doing today. When I told him he said, uhm, no. HUH? I repeated what I KNEW we were doing. This is his last day of surgery and then he's retiring. Acts like I'm trying to super-size my surgery! Goes nuts! Runs in with my folder and shoves it in my face. READ IT! It says nothing about this other. I'm lying there trying to stay grounded before the inevitable trigger reaction hits. I was shaking. He storms out and is cursing and pacing on the other side of the curtain, saying all manner of baloney. Comes in and I advocate for him doing the part of the surgery that he specializes in, the reason he was referred. I take the hit and say, I'll just go to the next guy for the rest. He's still apoplectic. Finally the anesthesiologist comes in with management. Says, we don't feel like you trust us here. Uhhhh. LOL I say, look. I get it. It's his last day. He's slammed. But, I know why I'm here. If you can get your surgeon on track, I'm fine. I understand about the other three issues, but they are non issues at this point. If I felt that way I wouldn't be here. I tell them it was a lot to get here and I'd rather he just do it. It's his last day. He says, nope. Sending you home. I tell him. I've explained as best I can. I'm trying to advocate for myself. I've told you that I have other surgeries following, but they want this one done first. This would put everything out of whack. But, ultimately I don't have any of the power or control. He laughs mockingly and says, YOU HAVE ALL THE POWER! Uhhhh. LOL In that case, let's proceed. No. LOL. He brags, we know lots of surgeons, we'll just reschedule you in a couple of weeks. I ask what about all the money I'm out. Like the driver? He says, she's your sister. And, that's when my lie is out. As part of the SA stuff they recommended that you always go with family because you don't want to low-hanging fruit. If you have family there you are more protected. My new driver friend says, We're sisters in Christ, so put sister. LOL. So, I did. Now I have to tell the truth. She's not my sister. We said that for protection. I am actually paying her. He is furious, but says they'll pay her. Storms out. Within minutes I am having everything stripped off in the fastest manner ever. I'm sitting there crying saying, I feel like I'm in trouble. No, you're not in trouble. It's fine. I ask, how are we paying this lady? She gives me her business card and says to email her the receipts. I ask, what about my prepayment. Do I need to go to the front desk? No, it's already been refunded. No, it certainly was not and I had to fight for months!!!! Months! Even Wells Fargo said it wasn't fraudulent. So, I marched down there and the gal finally refunded it. I asked about the interest since they lied about it and tough donuts. I asked again about the $125 and the original gal that's card I had came out. This all happened last July. I still haven't seen it. I keep getting the runaround. We're medical, so it's hard to refund this. Tough. I'm still out the interest, the RX costs, over $100. I'm out the $77 x 2 for Care.com, the Amazon leg thing. WTHeck. Called Panorama within the first couple of weeks and the billing gal had it all figured within 90 seconds. She said when they rescheduled your surgery all the information wasn't input. That's the problem. They refunded their portion same day. No call was ever returned though I did ask to speak to management. No surgeon was ever recommended. At one point the gal offered me a credit to the facility for the $125. You have got to be kidding! I think not! There is zero accountability here. It was by far the most unprofessional experience I have ever had the displeasure to live through. They didn't give a rip about the trauma, about the inconvenience, the cost. Avoid at all costs!

They got me checked in and seen super-fast. The front desk guy was friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Then Kate, the PA who saw me, was absolutely wonderful--kind, thorough, attentive, and made sure I understood everything. This place really stands out for its excellent customer service. I'm so grateful that I came to Sound Clinic for prolotherapy (which they actually do prolozone -…read moreeven better as ozone has heightened effects). I couldn't be more impressed. I was on a bad saga of health care providers and thanks to Sound Clinic I am pain-free and can now avoid spinal surgery. Feb 2021: Doing a yoga pose, I ended up in the ER after my back spasmed. June 2021-Sep 2021: More limited function. Got a MRI that showed disc degeneration and was referred to a spinal surgeon and he was zero help. Dec 2021: Injured my back again. I was recommended to try steroid shots before going into surgery. I did four steroid shots and was in extreme sciatic pain radiating down my left leg. April 2022: Had a spinal surgeon on the calendar before I listened to myself and decided to pursue something more sacrum related as the pain was really coming from this area and not where the disc herniation was located. All symptoms pointed towards a sacrum injury meanwhile the spinal doctors disagreed with me and said my sacrum pain was coming from stenosis. On a late night Google search, I found Shawn Naylor's name buried onto another review and set up an appt. They got me in at the end of April and there were no shenanigans. He gave me prolozone at the same appointment and two days later I was walking pain free again. Later, it was diagnosed that my issues had come from a collapsed left arch that led to a crooked sacrum. Imagine this: Couldn't walk for four months more than 5 minutes to walking as long as I'd like now Couldn't go to yoga from Feb 2021-April 2022 and am now going to yoga 1-2 times per week (taking it slow!) Couldn't pick up my two-year old son and can now lift him into the air Couldn't pick up heavy loads of groceries and have no limitations now. I believe Sound Clinic is progressive, listens to the patient and above all else, is willing to help in any way they can. Dr. Naylor also provided a kidney detox supplement that has helped me detox from NSAIDs that I was on for months, as well. I also think the reviews that critique the staff are unwarranted. It was the quickest staff and doctors and most on time office I've yet to visit.

It's really a shame, as they ruin the client experience. I feel like just a number here, like they're trying to get me through as quickly as possible. In several cases NPs had to look things up on the internet while I was there, and in one case the NP didn't even know protocol for the basic blood panel I requested. I also can't say there's anything particularly "integrative" about this clinic aside from the fact that they sell supplements. There is a DO on staff, but that office seems pretty separate from the rest of the operation. I'm thankful to be moving and not working with these guys anymore. Sorry to leave a bad review, I never do this, but my experiences have been so horrible I felt compelled to.
