In office not bad- long wait as expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Doctor was nice and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had x-rays, but they do not physically give you any or a copy. Once I went to my orthopedic, they needed a copy of the x-ray called Exter. They cannot send them over digitally. You have to physically go back to their facility to pick up a disk. There has to be a better process. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dealing with their billing department is impossible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]First you get a series of automated when you can finally get to a person.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is within 7 to 10 business days. Ask for a breakdown of your bill. It takes seven business days. I accidentally overpaid my bill (already been a week and posted to my bank) for them to look into it she said would be 7 to 10 business days and I need to call back. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so frustrating that I feel compelled to warn others. I had been sick for nearly a week and decided to make an appointment at Exer Urgent Care in Manhattan Beach, hoping to finally get some relief. I showed up on time, and to my surprise, the waiting room was completely empty. No patients, no wait list, nothing. I was taken back fairly quickly by a nurse or medical assistant who asked a few basic questions and took my vitals. After about five minutes, he told me the doctor would be "right in." [[HIGHLIGHT]]That "right in" turned into 45 minutes of complete silence. No updates. No check-ins. No explanation. I was left sitting alone in the room, feeling worse by the minute, wondering if anyone even remembered I was there[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eventually, I walked out. As I was walking out I noticed 4-5 employees sitting together and chatting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now I'm still sick and had to schedule with my primary care doctor, which is never easy. The soonest available appointment is days away, meaning I've been left to suffer even longer after wasting my time here. There is absolutely nothing "urgent" or "caring" about this place. Came here because my eye was swollen. I never had anything like that happen before. The on call PA instead of treating me. Sent me to the ER for PINK EYE! They took my $50 co pay and sent me away as soon as it was closing time!! Absolutely ridiculous. The on call ER Doctor was confused as to why they sent me to tge ER. i took my sister in-law to urgent care since she had a cough and extreme diarrhea and leaving the next morning for Hawaii. We waited 4.5 hours just to be told you have the flu. I gave her a name of a prescription I had used for diarrhea and they said it's yo strong for her since she is 85 years old. A doctor never saw her and now she is in the hospital in Maui with double pneumonia in both lungs. Also my son went there with a terrible cough nothing was done. I made him see a doctor and they put him on antibiotics and inhalers. i would not recommend this facility at all. read more

She was kinda snippy and rude with a bad tone when she was talking to me. She also felt like she was in a rush or if she had something better to do so it went by really quickly. I felt like I couldn't ask any questions. Also, she never actually told me the definitive reason to what was the cause of my problems. She just gave potential causes to why but never a definitive answer. Oh my gosh! I f***ing LOVE this urgent care! Every time I have been it's so fast so easy they know what they are doing!!! They take care of their patients amazingly not only that but FAST! I've been here about 4-5 times now (I get sick often) and every time i've been sick they know exactly what it is just by my complaints or symptoms! Exer Not so urgent care is more like it. Very disappointing. I had been dealing with back pain and came to this urgent care to get checked out. I checked online at 8:15am when they opened and it said no wait time. I couldn't figure out how to make an appointment so I drove right over, I live 15 min away. There were 4 people in the waiting room, I checked in and was told I was 5th in line. I waited an hour and a half, saw maybe 3 people go in during that time. As of 10:30am (waiting almost 2 hours) I am still waiting. I understand that it takes time to see patients but offer a return time or allow people to schedule ahead if it's going to be over an hour wait. The receptionist was nice but fairly indifferent to the fact that people were waiting over an hour. I cannot speak to the quality of care because I haven't received any. read more

Well, first off, I ubered here and was given the option to go to another facility because there will be a 2 hour wait. I said I ubered then I started thinking of all money spent for ubered , the wait for car and distance I'll wait because I'll be called before doing all this . My knees have been bothering me, so the x-ray tech did x-rays to prepare for the doctor. The doctor came in and asked if I had fallen before I said no he asked again, "Did you fall and maybe forget? No. He squeezed my leg for 60 seconds and said it's not to swollen it may be early osteoporosis, but with x-rays, I can't see throughly. You need to get mri somewhere else so they can see knee. He verbally told me what I needed to get and then said, "Do you want me to write prescription?" Yes, please. The doctor seemed nice, but he just didn't have any answers. I went to the front desk, and he said your done I said, "Do you have my pharmacy?" he Said let me check? " No, so he put the pharmacy on tecord. I said, "Will I get my prescription?" he said yes if that's what he said. That was Friday, Sept 6, and it was Sept 9, and still no prescription. I just made an appointment to see my regular doctor for September 11. That was ridiculous. read more

This review is for my experience at Exer in Manhattan Beach, CA, and solely based on my interaction with Physician's Assistant, Anna Alongi. I have never had an interaction with a medically licensed individual that was so unprofessional. After asking two questions, and no physical exam, she provided a quick diagnosis. I started to respectfully ask some questions to better understand the details of her diagnosis. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She interrupted me, got defensive, and lectured me about not respecting her medical opinion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She then prescribed me codeine pain medication. When I asked for another (non-narcotic) option, she sarcastically said she could spend the next two hours explaining the different types of medicine to me. I was informed a certain amount and was charged nearly 3-4x per week! I think they purposely bill you slow so you're surprised with high medical bills later. Every time I go to this urgent care center I leave upset with my self for giving it another opportunity. Went in today at 8am for a sinus infection. I was unsure about where I wanted my prescriptions sent. I've been here twice a physical and tb test and I've had a great experience both times. The place is clean, not busy, and I guess depending on what you're going in for the waiting times for varies. I prefer this location over the other previous urgent cares I've been to in Hollywood based on all of the above and their quality of care. read more

I walked in without an appointment but they quickly checked me in (I went in on a Monday afternoon). The nurse at the front desk and NP assigned to me were very friendly and professional. Dr. Kay was fantastic -- incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with breaking down my test results and she made me feel like I was in good hands. I would say my only qualm was that I was waiting in the patient room for quite a bit after the NP stopped by for an initial check-in, but I assume that was probably because of the time it took to process my test results. All in all, I would absolutely recommend to friends and family. read more

I had a disappointing experience here last Saturday morning. My son hurt his finger playing flag football on Friday evening and woke in pain on Saturday. When we arrived at Exer, only three people were in line ahead of us, but it was still almost three hours until we were seen. The only explanation given was there was only one doctor on staff. For an urgent care center, understaffing is not a recipe for urgent care. Not only that, my son got an x-ray on Saturday when we were finally seen, and the doctor told us that he cannot be sure what the x-ray says until the radiologist reads it, which might be another hour or more wait. To be safe, the nurse applied a splint. The splint application was fine, but honestly, I didn't need to spend half a day at Exer to get a precautionary splint that I could have fashioned myself at home. The worst of this is that the radiologist did not read the x-ray until TUESDAY morning (a full THREE days later). At that point, we had already taken my son to the orthopedic's office. The front desk staff, nurse, and doctor were kind and competent enough, but receiving slow "urgent care" ultimately makes it a waste of time and money. read more

Stop by while visiting from out of town. The staff were amazing. It wasn't too busy when i showed up. Told them my symptoms then ran several test and found i had the flu. They were able to point me in the direction of a pharmacy that was open late to accommodate my prescription and sent me on my way. After waiting 3+ hours to be seen, the office never called in my RX, making my entire visit pointless! Not only did I drive 20 mins to the nearest open pharmacy, but sat there for over an hour waiting for my RX to be called in. I even called back to check on it to make sure it would be re-sent. After being re-assured they would send it in the next 15 minutes, the office closed for the day. Seriously terrible when your whole job is to make sure people get the care they need. read more

I'd give this place a zero if I could. I took my son here and he had a respiratory and ear infection. It's grew 10X worse and he was having a hard time breathing yesterday. I was trying to prevent all of this by coming to exer care. Your providers are awful. This happened twice now that I've been there. Your medical care for colds and seeing patients recently have been terrible and gone down hill. It used to be much better. The provider sent me home tell me to give my son flunose. What a joke. We come to urgent when we need help and your providers are not helping people. Too afraid to provide real care for patients who are in desperate need of real healthcare. Shame on you guys for charging me for nothing. Extremely pissed and feel they SCAMMED me. But more importantly my poor son who suffered all day and night and I took him a real healthcare provider who quickly diagnosed his ear infection and thankfully he's on his way and getting better today.
