I'll be honest, I like to go to self-serve, pay at the pump and get out. Here you do need to go into the store but they make it as efficient as possible. They are so busy that they have you pump your gas then move your car ahead before going into the store to pay. They ask that you let them know how much you owe them when you get into the store. This allows others to pump their gas. It is a Fabian gas station. During the increase in gas prices recently, Charleen's prices were ALWAYS lower than anywhere around. The prices were not just a little but a lot (30-50 cents a gallon) lower. They want to give the savings back to the community. There were times when the gas was $4.50 gallon at other stations and I don't think it ever went over $3.90 here. Let me tell you, the owners are awesome. They are friendly and inviting. They love dogs and are fine if you want to bring them into the store. They offer a variety of sundry items, beer, milk and even local baked goods. It is hard to rave about a gas station but if I am going to, it is absolutely going to be about Charleen's. This store/gas station and the people who own it are the best!

I am one of those who rarely have cash on me. The coffee they make is outstanding! Unfortunately in the morning when I count any cash I have laying around, and am usually a few cents short. So I go to Cumberland Farms, just down the street. They take debit without drama, even if all their coffee, no matter what flavor they label it as, always tastes the same. Try using a debit card at Oak Hill Cash Market, the owner acts like you are a complete asshole. Plus they are out of cream 80% of the time I go there. I have to ask, then stand around and wait for them to "get to it". But regardless, the way they make their coffee is incredible and is even better (and much cheaper) than Dunkin Donuts. The breakfast sandwiches are another highlight...always plenty just freshly cooked, so there is no waiting. The pizza they make could not taste much worse, however....a limp, soggy crust and just not good by any stretch of the imagination. It's almost like you have to try to make a Pizza this bad. Because it is a convenience store, the groceries appear to be from a museum and way too expensive to consider, even in a pinch. That being said, I do not go out of my way to do business here, but would get my daily cup of coffee here every single day if using a debit card did not cause the owner to act like you are putting him out of business by doing so. But they do some things extremely well, and I can't go less than 4 stars, as it is locally owned and operated and it's nice to see these places succeed. They do have my 4 star rating, and I recommend this place on the strength of their Coffee and Breakfast sandwiches. You won't get that quality at a chain store.

There was no attendant we paid for gas and then we pumped however, we didn't know the pump didn't stop! It just kept going, so I went back into pay the balance and scout it out the store a little bit my favorite find was this bag of wafer candy with blue raspberry powder that has a tattoo on the bottom for your tongue. It's temporary but my students in sixth grade Absolutely loved this candy for the tattoo and the super blue sour raspberry powder inside it all fades away within seconds, but oh what fun! What's amazing about these little gas stations in the middle of nowhere is that they typically have pizza wings and subs and everybody seems to stop there. It's a great way to get a feel for the locals when you're traveling. We were heading to a lodge on Lake Conossee, we were literally running on fumes driving on winding one lane country road as the sun was setting when we saw this gas station with only two pumps we had to stop.
