I just had to click a button online and show up, and the realtor would be there to show me the property. Danielle ended up being the person I saw, and she first showed me the house I ended up buying. Because I was short on time (I'm a teacher, and it was just a couple weeks before the school year was starting), I really wanted to find a place as quickly as possible and jump on it. So even though I loved the first house I viewed, she arranged for me to see several other properties with the other Redfin agent, Vivian, the next day, and that helped me decide to go with my gut on the first one. I ended up making an offer on that first house, and Danielle talked me through the whole process, helping me come up with an offer price, pointing out things in the house I needed to list to be addressed, helping me find competent people to do estimates and inspection, and then even talking me through my counteroffer and negotiation, and being very reasonable about what I should expect from the seller. The apartment wasn't cleaned from the last tenant and if I had a choice I wouldn't have signed the lease. That was my mistake. You could tell the previous tenant has multiple pets because no matter how much we cleaned after moving in there was always a lingering smell. Leaking from the apartment above was never dealt with. Broken appliances and weather sealant around the front door was only dealt with after threatening to withhold rent in an escrow account. Mold, so much mold. We could only treat what was on the surface but from years of disrepair from absent property owners has lead to mold under the floor and rotting foundation. The generic lease you sign (which they most likely printed off the internet without reviewing) contains several items considered illegal per Kentucky tenant law. Seriously, don't rent here.
