I found an awesome apartment listing on nakedapartments.com and contacted the broker listed - Eddie…read morefrom Brooklyn Blocks Real Estate. This was my very first time searching for apartments ever and I truly did not know what to expect and was nervous for the entire process up until the moment I confessed to Eddie that my roommates and I were not exactly sure what to look for in each apartment. As soon as I told Eddie that my roommates and I were new to the apartment-hunting world, he lit up and wholeheartedly took on the role of a trusted guide through this confusing process. He encouraged us to take our time to look through apartments in different neighborhoods. He answered every single one of our questions (and we had A LOT) even including ones about Real Estate in the city in general and the difference between pre-war and post-war apartments. He laughed and joked with us, he listened to all of our priorities and what we liked and didn't about each place, he made sure to stay at or below our price range for every apartment, and he even pointed us to a great bar to get a feel for the neighborhood after Day 1 of the search. I didn't end up renting through Eddie due to an unexpected roommate issue and, while I was so heartbroken that my plans in the gorgeous apartments that I viewed fell through, the aspect I was most upset about was not getting to rent through Eddie. I can't imagine a Real Estate Agent who I would've trusted more to get us in the best place possible. I could not have had a more enjoyable, stress-free, and just plain ol' fun experience. I will be recommending Eddie and Noah to everyone looking for an apartment in Brooklyn. Thanks so much for your patience, kindness, and help, Eddie!

He is, without a doubt, the most patient, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented realtor I've ever worked with (and just a lovely person to boot). Roman took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and worked tirelessly to ensure that every option aligned with our needs. He made us feel comfortable and confident at every step - always listening, answering questions with care, and offering practical advice when viewing apartments. When we finally found *our* apartment, he was with us every step of the way, helping us assemble an outstanding team of professionals who made the process seamless. He expertly managed the complex coop application, ensuring that we felt completely organized and prepared at each stage. Having him in our corner when we encountered roadblocks or issues, made the overwhelming moments feel far more manageable. We are incredibly grateful for his guidance in helping us find our forever home and for the team he built around us. I wholeheartedly recommend Roman to anyone searching for an apartment or home (and have already done so multiple times). Do yourself a favor--work with Roman!

I saw a couple of properties with him & finally applied. He was charging me a huge broker fee even tho the city of NY got rid of broker fees. Once I sent him all of my info & documents, he ghosted me. Very unprofessional. Even if I got declined, he could've just said that. I believe I didn't get declined, I think he just saw that I wasn't a fan of the ridiculous broker fee he was charging.

What he IS, is just extremely bad at his job, and is enabled by a crazy market and desperate renters. In my experience, he did his job, I paid him the anticipated and agreed-upon amount (actually a lower brokers fee it was nice), and he submitted and coordinated what needed to be, between the building and him and I, AKA his job. I was extremely panic-attack level worried about scamming and legitimacy, which I told him straight up. I was overly researching and panicking and expressing a ton of doubt. He was super responsive with me, but got a little better when I called him directly, try to skip the texting with him just call him and ask all your questions. Obviously if you stall too much early on then you'll lose the place and that would be frustrating! I think that the bad reviews are accurate for people who experienced his shittiness and backed out, or didn't get the apartment so the experience worsened and ended on a bad note. But for me, he followed through and got me the unit because he IS a legitimate broker and obviously WANTS to close the deal. The steps were that after touring and a bunch of communication, and tons of paranoia, I signed the lease and FaceTimed with the landlord and Seth, then within a couple of days I Zelled, yes Zelle, the security deposit, brokers fee, and first months rent to his employer, Lang Reality's Zelle. This is normal, legit, and fine! I even moved in early and it's great, super happy. He basically quit responding to texts after I paid him and was in contact with my superintendent, then of course he has minimal incentive to give you time of day. I called him a couple more times and over the phone he is helpful and willing, but I noticed the moment the texting was ineffective, soon after my payments and move in lol. Would I recommend him? No. Is he going to literally scam you, no. Did I find a place to live despite the horrors, yes. Do whatever makes you comfortable, ask every single question you'd like, and know your legal rights and legal process of renting. Good luck!
