The customer service was minimal but great. I tried the green tea (and usually I love green tea) but the one from here tasted too earthy for me. I asked for honey but it wasn't as sweet as i was hoping. I'm used to medium sweet from Scented Leaf which is significantly different. I LOVED their maple scones though. It was so delicious. Exo Roast Company is an incredibly beautiful spot in Tucson. From the Chiltepin Cold Brew, Mesquite Cold Brew, Drip Coffee, Monsoon Mocha, and Pumpkin Atole with an espresso shot - these were all incredible drinks. The staff here are awesome and friendly! Beyond the wonderful coffee and patio that eco roast co has always offered, they also have a night time bar that blows me out of the water. My favorite cocktail is their casa verde, where I could taste the creosote so much... it truly felt like they have very geniously put the experience of a monsoon into a cup. And anything with a salted tajin rim and a beautiful 1.5 Oz pour of mezcal will steal my heart The vibe of the bar is intimate and laid back, and perfect for a quiet date night. Amazing coffee shop in the downtown Tucson area! Exo Roast Co is amazing local coffee shop in Tucson, located near 4th ave and a few doors down from Tap & Bottle. This area is amazing and has a very supportive and vibrant community and atmosphere, especially with the new street paintings and outdoor seating. There is a lot of parking in the area, mostly pay to park during the days and free after 5pm and on weekends. It has a great interior, exposing the original brick of the building. There are two areas for patrons, the front where you order and the back, with more tables, seating, and outlets. It does get busy in the afternoons, so it may be a hit or miss to find a table, just because it's a popular place. They serve amazing coffee blends, and I highly recommend ordering off their pour over menu. If you're looking for something cold, their cold brew is very tasty and not bitter. They also serve lattes, americanos, etc. If you're looking for something to munch on, they have freshly made pastries, and also serve breakfast and lunch. They've recently announced that they will be serving dinner, as well. Be sure to like their Facebook page or newsletter because they announce when they will be hosting events throughout the week or month. On certain days they have outdoor yoga, mezcal evening tastings, and live music. read more

We were visiting Tucson from San Diego and of course turned to our trusty Yelp to find delicious coffee. Exo was delicious! Unfortunately we were only able to experience this gem through a window to order (the inside looks fabulous). We had 2 iced Mesquite coffees and it was noticeably above and beyond your standard iced coffee. It was flavorful, not bigger, and the perfect amount of cream. We're still talking about it 1 week later. We also wanted to share a quick bite but they were out of most of their breakfast options (it was a little later in the morning by this point) so I opted for the vegan breakfast burrito - no I am not vegan - and damn this was good! It was a small tortilla filled with beans and sautéed veggies, and the side of salsa was the cherry on top. Great experience overall, Tucson locals are lucky to have this in their reach! read more

exo has become our old reliable coffee shop! we come here almost every morning because it's so reliably good and fast, and the employees are all very nice. we've never gotten the chance to actually go inside, but having the window for ordering through covid is super convenient and they have quite a bit of outdoor seating as well! when i'm in the mood for a decadent drink, i get the mole dulce latte which has the perfect amount of sweetness to coffee, and the mole really compliments the coffee rather than overpowers it. when i'm in the mood for some straight up coffee, i'll get the cortado or cappuccino, and both are amazing! the cap specifically is so good and foamy, and the milk really cuts the bitterness and lets their delicious coffee shine. they also have lots of cool merch which i'm always tempted to buy but haven't so far! i would definitely recommend coming here for coffee or breakfast! read more

Looking back at my first review for EXO, they really are a five star coffee shop. What they are doing here in the Old Pueblo is comprable to any solid roaster in Portland or Seattle. EXO knows what's up. They are quality driven in every way as far as beans go. So I'll break it down for you with a few of my useful tips: 1. They roast their own beans in site and you can smell it down the street. Smells rich like caramel. No burnt beans here! 2.Best Cold Brew in town. Don't even need sugar. Order a Toddy. 3. Shop is beautiful. Plenty of work space. They play excellent music. 4. Doug knows and cares about his product. He's humble and is always willing to answer any of your coffee questions. Needing a spot to transition while waiting to gain access to my hotel room, I did a quick Yelp search to find a nearby cafe. I was super intrigued by Exo because I found the menu and esthetics inspiring. It was about 2pm and I had an hour to fill so this seemed like a perfect way to do it. However I didn't work out quite the way I anticipated. Luckily I was able to find a fee free parking spot and wandered in full of enthusiasm. Unfortunately I learned pretty quick there was no food service after 1pm (and I was hungry) so I put this place on the back burner and decided to check out some of the nearby establishments. Not. One. Was. Open. On a Monday at 2. BOO! Fast forward to another day and I made plans in advance early to arrive in time for brunch with a local friend. She had an Americano and I ordered an iced chai. We shared the tacos huevos rancheros. Delicious I was glad I gave the place another opportunity and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Lots of seating variety which is always important to me and a very friendly community of patrons. I've been craving those egg tacos and their chai ever since. Will definitely make it a priority stop during my next visit to Tucson. read more

I have enjoyed several various drinks at EXO Roast Co in the downtown area. I enjoy the space, a repurposed use of a Tucson warehouse. My first visit, was met with friendly staff playing records on a turntable. Fun stuff for sure. They roast their coffee on site; the german Probat roaster can be admired since the space is spartan, with lovely brick walls and original wood flooring. My favorite beverage of their "craft coffee" is the mesquite toddy, which is the seasonal drink. I've also had their iced chiltepin toddy which is a delight for the summer, hot and cool! Nearly every visit you can see them measuring precisely on beakers and scales, and pouring the water just so over the coffee grounds. At Exo Roast Co both coffee education and crafting are very important. Just a note: if you are a pink, yellow or blue sweetener sort of coffee drinker you'll need to bring your own supply. read more

Came here for our AM drink while on a visit from Phoenix. The inside is gorgeous with antique wood floors and a spacious feel with a vaulted roof. The staff were very friendly. I ordered an orange cardamom latte and it was the most delicious, smooth drink I've had in months. The prices were fair and the quality was amazing. My husband also enjoyed his vanilla latte very much. Good vibe, great drinks. If I lived here, I would be a daily customer. read more

I've been stopping in at Exo for years and generally like the coffee and the vibe. Lately, though I order the same hot drink every time, it hasn't tasted the same twice. Nestled in an industrial part of the city just outside Tucson's quaint downtown, Exo embodies the uber-hip coffee scene that I've found in many other parts of the country. Raw industrialism at its best, it's easy to see why Exo survives here. Replete with an eclectic (and eccentric) mix of patrons, this is niche coffee at its best. I'm an out-of-towner and wanted to pay homage to a coffee hotspot. My Kenya pour-over ranks among the best I've had anywhere. Throw in a reclaimed wood and brick atmosphere and you've got a winner. Disappointed it's so far from where I'm staying while in town but I'm glad I got a chance to sample some of the product. Don't miss out on this great java joint! read more

The good: the matcha latte was good, they have milk alternatives. The place is cute and it's in a good location. Unfortunately that's it. The bad: I was a little nervous thinking about writing this review on their customer service because I know it varies. But this was my first time going to this place and needless to say, I'm never going back. As soon as I walked in, I felt I welcomed. The energy was off. The environment does not feel welcoming. I thought maybe it's because of my demographic. The employees and even the customers were of one particular demographic. Exo is a great hipster sorta coffee shop. They have flavorful coffees and some yummy bites to eat. My personal go-to is always a latte. I like that here, I usually don't need to add extra shots of espresso - it's strong enough on its own (and if you're a coffee addict like me, you need that strength....). Overall the quality of coffee here is excellent and it's no surprise that several other Tucson-local restaurants serve Exo coffee. Whenever I see it on a menu, I get a little happy inside. Exo also has a pretty awesome location. It's just far enough from 4th avenue to get away from the crowd/to find good parking but it also just close enough that if you wanted to walk around the area and check out some shops, you could. The interior of the building is a little funky. When you first walk in, you'd think they have limited seating. But keeping walking back and you'll enter a nice large room with plenty of room. Just be warned - this place is popular and can get busy at times! That's just what happens when you're a cool local spot serving up great coffee ;) Exo is the kind of local business you want to sticking around. The industrial aesthetic and people working busily on their laptops definitely ignites a center for creativity. I was also pleased to see they serve a hot breakfast. When I browsed around their retail section, I even noticed they support other small businesses like AZ Baking Company. Reluctantly, I ventured back a couple more times recently due to the siren song of Exo's chiltepin cold brew, and I'm happy to report that the new baristas were not only friendly but went above and beyond. The seats are still uncomfortable hipster seats that drive away some older folks like me but that is on brand at least. The coffee is excellent and the only thing that was stopping us from spending more money there was the issue with rude employees which seems to have been corrected. read more

I had the cold brew(black), and it tasted good in comparison to chain coffee shops. I would definitely like to try some of their other drinks to have something else to compare my experience with. With a wide selection of different coffees they roast a variety of different origins throughout the year.
