If Tucson has a heartbeat, part of it lives inside Talega Coffee Roasters. I used to live next door, and honestly, they were the only thing keeping me in Armory Park as long as I stayed. When I finally moved, I thought the hardest part would be adding 30 minutes to my commute. It wasn't. It was losing that daily routine of walking into a place that feels so real and personal. Talega isn't just a coffee shop. It feels intimate in a way that's hard to find now. You can tell Tyler & Rene actually care. Not just about the coffee, but about the people who come in and the community around them. Nothing about it feels transactional. You're remembered, conversations matter, and it feels grounded in something genuine. Their seasonal drinks are what really set them apart. They are not cheap grabs for attention or copies of whatever is trending online. The ideas feel inspired and intentional. (Their maize latte and miso latte were perfect) You can tell there is real thought behind what they put on the menu. It reflects a level of care for the craft that is especially rare. It's been incredible to watch how far they've come since they started. They've grown without losing what makes them special, which is not easy to do. Talega Coffee is such a vibe!!! I stumbled upon this gem coffee shop while waiting for my bf and his bro to finish the century at Tour de Tucson. I have to say, their drink was so good that I almost missed being at the finish line in time for my bf! Talega was so intriguing to me that I had to google what it meant. "Talega coffee is an artisanal method that uses a talega, a cotton bag traditionally used to carry coins. Over time, it was discovered that these bags were ideal for filtering coffee, giving rise to this traditional method. In addition, the word "talega" comes from Arabic and means "to hang," which refers to the original use of these bags. The bag is made of cotton, a material widely used in Mexico since ancient times, especially during the Mexica period for making clothes. Likewise, the cotton, made of 100% cotton, is a completely organic product ideal for preparing coffee. I had such a nice time chatting with them about coffee in general and what a beautiful place and concept and vibe they have at their shop! If you've been to Telega, you know how beautiful and dreamy the spot is. It feels so cozy, like a living room of your best friend's house. But, it also feels like you are in the lobby of a very artsy hotel. They have such creative and intriguing seasonal drinks, manzana latte, miso maple flat white, and picca latte. I didn't get a chance to try them but I got their iced matcha with oat and it was so good! Just perfect. I sent my bf and his bro here the next day and they also loved their coffee so much! We def need to come back to visit Tucson and especially to visit their coffee shop again. My bf said his second order of coffee, their machine wasn't working so it was on the house. They are so generous! We came back on our way out and stopped by them again because my bf insisting for paying his cortado but it was after 2pm. We realized when we got there.. Well, this just means we def will need to come back and I think my bf and his peeps are already considering coming back for next year Tour de Tucson so I can't wait to come back to Talega again! read more

I had one of the Spring 2026 specialty iced lattes, the Sumac Floral Bloom. It had lemongrass, lavender florals, with a sumac finish. It was unique, interesting, and delicious without being too sweet or overpowering the espresso. Milk options were whole or oat. They have WiFi but I didn't use it. read more

Am I in Pasadena, California? This spot screams SoCal!! It is now my #1 favorite coffee place in Tucson. It's located in a lovely neighborhood with lush trees and gorgeous homes. The interior vibes is very L.A. My son ordered the Shaken Hojicha and the La Rosa (peanut & honey) latte caught my eye. OMG there were peanut butter bits in the drink. So sipping yummy! The baristas here ROCK!! I can never say no to a jalapeno & cheddar scone. It has a nice kick to it and goes perfectly with your cup of joe. A cute and very unique coffee shop in the heat of downtown directly across the children's museum. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. There is some seating inside but it's more on the smaller side. They do offer some additional seating outside which is a cute patio area with lots of shade. This was my first visit to Talega during the Midsommar Market. The atmosphere is very cool and laid back, and of course they were super busy during the event. The employees were also very nice! The truth is that I just didn't love my mocha. It was somehow too sweet and too watery at the same time. And even thought I stirred it thoroughly, I got some clumps of bitter cocoa powder near the end. I'm going to chalk it up to a busy night, and I would be willing to give them another shot in the future. read more

I walked in with my dog Zana, a friendly white GSD. I ordered a simple cappuccino which I flavored with their vanilla sugar. It came in an 8-ounce paper cup. Coffee was a mild roast without bitterness. We sat inside, relaxing to indie music, although I could have sat outside with the 75F temperature as outdoor seating is spacious and shaded. This was such a lovely spot and experience! We went for a Sunday morning coffee and were warmly greeted with quick service and delicious lattes. The espresso is roasty and flavorful and the folks working were notably kind and attentive. The atmosphere is also really calm and inviting. We don't usually stay to drink our coffee in the cafe, but felt compelled to stay awhile and enjoy the calm vibes here. I was very excited to visit this coffee shop that popped up recently (I believe they have been at this location 7 months now)! It is in the Bring's building and has a truck and sign outside to clearly mark the entrance. There is a full menu right outside the door to check before you walk in. They had some good options and we tried the La Rosa Latte (espresso, sweet peanut, raw AZ honey, cinnamon)! It was so yummy - kind of like a breakfast of coffee and honey/PB toast all in one! The peanut flavor wasn't overpowering and it's a unique flavor profile! There were some indoor and outside seating areas for visiting or working if you don't want to just grab and go. I went last Saturday for coffee and Wi-Fi with a friend. We both used our laptops and had yummy coffee! When I remember the drink I had was the rosita something with oat milk. Super delish! What I noticed in the couple hours being there is it was busy! Nice modern ambiance. Many people popped in for a quick drink. All the staff was friendly! I even had a hot tea before leaving. The music was very loud, so we sat outside. Tables and chairs were wet from the rains the day before. It was too hot to sit outside but too loud inside. A mom and babies group showed up outside and one of their kids was sunburnt, unhappy and screaming quite a bit. My Rosa latte was awful. It tasted like it had been made with almond milk. I may give this place another try, when it's cooler. Maybe the owners would turn down the music and perhaps I'd enjoy a different latte. It's worth trying again.
