a day agoNEW Took my Camaro to them because, after talking to them, I found they were knowledgeable about fifth gen Camaros. That said, I'm not here about their knowledge of Camaros. I'm here for the very sloppy work that has resulted in equipment failure. The lady asked if I was ok with the amps being attached to the seat in the trunk. I said I was. When I picked it up, the guy said he had "installed" the amps in the spare tire well. I thought, well, that's cool as long as the heat doesn't get to them. Later, my subwoofer went out. I tried every setting on my head unit...nothing. When I opened the trunk and pulled out the trunk lining and spare tire pump, the amps were THROWN into the well. The were attached to nothing and were rattling around. The wires were running everywhere quite sloppily. I've disconnected and reconnected everything there is and my subwoofer still doesn't work. That's what I get for $1200? I should have known something was up when the wires were hanging from the bottom of the dash. Dammit. read more

Very experienced, competent, helpful, reasonably-priced repair. They knew exactly what the problem was, and how to fix it. We had been told at the GM dealer that we needed to replace our entire radio system ($1500!), but Exotic knew immediately that all we needed to do was replace the amplifier($250). Be VERY careful! Exotic Car Audio did a complete Bait and switch with audio equipment supposed to be installed. When asked where is the rest of the items i purchased that weren't installed I was given the run around and then I was ignored and no refund was given. I had to file a complaint with the BBB and contact my bank to dispute the charge. VERY unprofessional!! The install was done OK minus the paint finish they used looks VERY dull and amateur and the leather used to wrap sections of the box and door panels are already coming off and its only been 2 days! Exotic Audio talked a big game but delivered a subpar install and ripped me off by not installing audio equipment i PAID FOR! so beware!! make sure you check that you have everything you purchased installed in your car before you leave! list of audio equipment paid for.. - Skar LP-80.4ABv2 - Skar LP-1000.1 Dv2 - Skar SK-M5001D - 2 Skar TX69 - 2 Skar TX68 - 2 Skar SPX-T - 6 Skar EVL-65 D2 - Axxess Digital Signal Processor AX-DSP this is what actually got installed... Great service! I went in and was greeted by the owner who even though just ordered lunch for all his employees offered to help me on his break. This company ran by the owner called and waited on hold for a set of speakers for 20 minutes till finally getting thru to the manufacture. He walked me through the process of completing what I wanted done and was actively cutting costs and giving me discounted prices on items I'd pay triple for else where. He was very also personable as well. Which to some doesn't make a difference to but when your spending a few hundred dollars you want to feel that touch of being in a place that is inviting and safe. His business also supports the troops as he is retired military as well. He also supports the community in providing employment to those fortunate then ourselves. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I had an appointment at 3:15pm and I drove over an hour to get there. I show up at 3:15pm and there is a paper note on the door saying they will reopen at 10:00am the following Monday. They did not call me to reschedule when they decided they were not going to be there. VERY poor customer service. If this is how they treat their customers I am concerned how much effort would go into the work done on my Lexus. I recommend to proceed with caution when determining whether to use this company or not. read more

Went to Exotic Car Audio to get a CD/Radio Receiver installed into my 2004 Dodge Ram truck. Had all of the parts that I thought was required for the job since I had planned on doing the installation myself. My truck has the 4-speaker Infinity system on in so it requires an amp by-pass wiring harness which I did not know at the time. Just had the standard wiring harness. I explained what I wanted and the female person working the desk said that they would be glad to install it and the labor would be $150.00 which sounded reasonable to me. I brought all of the parts with me and showed them to the lady. Also explained that I had installed a backup camera (am 82 years old and have a very bad neck problem requiring neck brace most of the time) and it would need to be plugged in. She said no problem with that. Then she took the radio receiver from the box and started reading the box contents. She said that the receiver was not rear camera ready. I explained that the receiver was configured for two cameras. She went into the next room and picked up one of their receivers and showed me the box and stated that if the radio was camera ready it would say so on the box. I took this as an attempt to sell me one of their receivers. On appointment day I dropped of the truck with the box with receiver and all of the attachments and equipment in the box which I had left on the floorboard of the back seat along with an extra wiring harness for a second camera ($100.00 camera which was not in the box but laying loose on the floor. I asked if I could speak with the installer to show what I had done and where everything was and what had been done. I was told flat no I couldn't talk to the installer that she was busy and could figure it all out. I was disappointed with this answer but left the truck. I had no more than arriver home till I got a message stating that it would cost another $100.00 for an amp bypass cable. The price seemed very high since they are for sale everywhere for $10 to $20.00. That is a 500 to 1000 percent markup. I went down to get the truck and have someone else install it. When arriver and told them that I didn't want their service any further and give me my truck and receiver and I would go. The installer backed the truck out of the installation stall and left it in the parking lot entrance which blocks entry to the installation stall. By this time it had starter raining pretty hard. I opened the truck back door to check the presence of all of the receiver and attachments. The installer saw that I was going through the box and turned around and shouted at me to "Move your truck you are blocking the place and I have customers." Since it was raining hard by now and not realizing that I was dealing with uncouth people, I got into my truck and vacated the place. When I arrived home I found out why she wanted me out of the place so fast. She had taken my extra backup camera wiring harness and both the owners manual and the installation manual and didn't want me to discover it was missing. Since it wasn't marked in anyway I couldn't prove she had taken anything. I guess in her own small mind she feels that she may not have sold me a $100.00 harness but cost me $100.00 for a useless backup camera without a wiring harness. If you go to this place beware these are nasty people to deal with. read more
