It ended up just being the four of us and the only people we saw on the trail were the workers installing a new boardwalk and fire and rescue personnel performing practice exercises. Along the entire river there and back we saw one SUP and one other kayak. We had the falls to ourselves for a half hour before another family turned up. It will get more crowded once the island open back up to outside tourism, but I'm sure Ali'i will still provide a memorable and thoughtful experience.

They…read morehad some really nice personal touches like a little box of candy and a liter of springwater even though the water in the taps was wonderful. Their units are newly done. The bed was extremely comfortable. I believe we were in unit A1. The sea lodge is a fantastic location in Princeville and after a whole bunch of research we found it was the best price with location of which you can see the ocean from almost all areas. They've got a cute little pool they keep the place spotless and we walk down to the beach which by the way I had just had both of my knees replaced and I'm a pretty big guy, but I was able to do it and down there. It's pretty amazing but you definitely wanna use walking shoes do not go down and flip-flops. Maybe bring a stick with you. We love the location close to Hanalei, which by the way if you want to go to for some great fish and chips pass, Hanalei is a place called Opakapaka Grill. Fantastic fish, and chips and fries! And decently priced beers. Anyway, the woman I dealt with at hysteria I believe her name was Gloria was just wonderful and was very proud of all the units that they manage.

She moved to Kauai when I was 13, and let me tell you that dancing with her was one of the most marvelous and memorable things about my teenage years. She puts soul into her teaching and pushes students to be their best, which is something I sometimes don't see in ballet schools in bigger cities. After leaving Kauai, I found myself drawing on what I'd learned from Jennifer all throughout my classes at Ballet Hawaii, Iolani, and while studying for my BA in dance in LA. It was so easy to book!!! I did my activity booking with a phone call and a few emails. My concierge Sonja and all of their staff are local born and raised in Hawaii. Sonja was great at giving me ideas of activities that I could do with my disability. I didn't have to wait in any lines and my excursions were memorable because I received so much oral history about the island it made my vacation so much more pleasurable. I truly enjoyed my Na Pali snorkeling trip. I've never seen such amazing variety of tropical fish much better snorkeling experience than I had in Egypt years before. I thought snorkeling in the Red Sea would be hard to beat, but Na Pali and my concierge. Sonja lived beyond my vacation expectations. I also took a helicopter ride around the island that was breathtaking! I plan to take another trip but to The Big Island this time. I will definitely be booking my activities with them on the big island too! Great activity choices for families, couples, and singles too! We were initially told by the luau that they couldn't accommodate additional folks. I contacted Sonja and she worked her magic and got us the additional seats. She saved the day! The luau was spectacular and all guests raved. Her local knowledge and contacts are a great asset and if you plan to be on Kauai, I highly recommend her services.

The Annual Kauai County Farm Bureau fair is back in town! It runs on the last weekend in August…read moreevery year (25th thru 28th)Thursday thru Sunday. The KCFB puts the fair on annually and the proceeds help to fund the organization's many important projects and scholarships throughout the year. The theme for this year is "Keep Growing and Farm On". There's lots to do!: Rides are provided by E.K Fernandez. They've got all the classics: Ferris Wheel, Ring of Fire, The Zipper, and lots of stuff for the little keiki as well. Food booths are put on by all sorts of Kauai organizations varying from different clubs to pop warner football teams. There's a huge variety of food as some vendors have become semi-famous for the food they put out every year. There's all kinds of live entertainment throughout the fair grounds. Last night there was a hypnotist and a magician. Music headliners are usually on Friday and Saturday nights, I think. The farm bureau tent is worth the trip on its own. There's tables and tables of locally produced fruits and vegetables on display for judging and awards. I especially like that because what's farming on Kauai without a little friendly competition? 5 Stars simply because the Farm Bureau works really hard to make this happen every year, and of course... Because it's the ONLY show in town.
