I'll keep my rating similar because I do appreciate all they did for me with water damaged phone and getting everything over to new phone. But wanted to update that a few days ago (7 months later) , I got an email from apple stating activation lock is requesting my password for that old phone. They never gave me my phone back and said they give them to a company to dispose of phone. I did call to ask why I'd be getting this and he just kept telling me there's no way they got the phone on and that's all he can tell me. Told me told call Apple, I just don't know what they'd be able to tell me? He got kind of defensive because I was asking why I would get this email. I was just trying to understand it. I got on iCloud and set to erase if it's ever turned on, just hoping it's enough that they don't get any information off that phone, seems like someone's trying to get into it (even if not turned on). I'd ask to keep old electronics and destroy yourself. Writing this here just so owner knows this happened, especially if the company they are using isn't supposed to be doing anything with these phones besides destroying them. read more

I reached out to 5 other local companies, small and large, to replace an internal battery in my laptop. 2 never got back to me. 2 stated they would "need to keep it a few days to assess it". One said I could come by anytime and "maybe they could do it while I waited" but wouldn't let me make an appointment. I called Experimac, spoke with Noel. He said, "sure, come on over". I brought 2 iPhones in for new batteries and they didn't tell me or my husband that the new battery wouldn't be a genuine iPhone battery. This has caused our phones to be unable to run any new updates and for a message of "unknown part" to be displayed in my settings. My husbands phone finally took the update when I plugged it into iTunes but mine refuses to update and it has been months! I took it back in right after the first update didn't take and the front desk clerk was very unprofessional. I was waiting and waiting while he ran the update himself and found it WOULD NOT UPDATE and then when I went to the counter to talk to him he started looking at his phone and then ran out the door! I was wondering what was going on and he came back in with food from door dash! Then he told me he would need to keep the phone which was understandable but he said it would be another charge to see what was wrong! Bad business all around! And we have been going there for years. I dropped off my 2017 MacBook Pro on Tuesday, January 18th for a cleaning, because my letter "G" on the keyboard was intermittently functioning. Signed a $59.95 authorization and was told "couple of days". TWO MONTHS later I call and ask status on this. Was told, "Oh, the tech broke the LCD screen and we're waiting on a new one." Okay, fine, but where was the phone call or email, to let me know what happened to my computer? Explained to me they were waiting on parts, but anticipated arrival "any day now". I let it wait another couple of weeks with no communication. Called back and was told the tech was waiting to get to it, but would have it done in a couple of day. Guess what? TWO ADDITIONAL WEEKS later, I call today and put off again. "Oh, I don't know what's happening with it because I'm not working on it, but I'll leave a message for the tech to call you back. "When?", I say. "Later today", he says. 5:00pm, business closed and still no phone call with updates. FFS, should have just paid Apple to do it the correct way, instead of trying to bargain repair it. Almost four months later, still no computer and apparently, no one who gives a shit about it. Yesterday was my second visit to Experimax for issues with iPhones. Noell helped us on both visits. The first time, a few months ago, I was having space issues which prevented apps from opening. He helped me determine that there were apps on my phone using a great deal of storage. I deleted the ones that I didn't need and that resolved the issue. No Charge for the service! Yesterday I took my husband's phone in because the power cord wouldn't lock into the charging plug-in. Noell immediately pulled out a tool and scraped debris from the hole. This resolved the issue. Dropped my iPhone 12 off on a Monday, they we're saying it will be 300$ to fix my phone, i responded with "I'll just come pick it up then" and so they dropped the price to 199$ so apparently that's all you have to say to get them take 100$ off which is good. They were telling me Monday my phone would be done that day they just needed to order the screen. They ended up calling me saying it wasn't gonna be done that day and i should just leave it overnight. Tuesday comes along, they keep tellling me that they ordered the screen and the company usually drops it off around 230 but they haven't came and that my phone will be done later on in the day, so i wait until they call me at 640 and tell me it won't be done that day and if i wanted to pick it up and take it somewhere else I could, they close at 7. I'm forced to leave it there another day and it was done in the morning. It took 3 days to finish something that took them an hour. read more

Buyer beware! Bought a computer here in 2017, & was very happy with our service. Went back last week to hopefully purchase one for our daughter, which we did. After my daughter got home & checked it out, she noticed what looked to be crumbs, in between many of the keys. She was immediately turned off. I should add, my daughter is 16 & saved up $1100. to buy a Mac. My daughter decided to purchase a new one instead. I texted the owner to tell him we would be bringing it back. I was then informed of a 15% re-stocking fee. There is no mention of any re-stocking fee on our receipt or posted on the windows, & neither my daughter or myself were told by owner at the time of sale..... we were shown a very small sign under the checkout area. It's not clearly visible. Then the owner claims his staff in the back, said I was a 'Karen' (it was likely the owner, as he was on speaker when he told his employee he didn't want to talk to us..... oops) maybe only certain people are charged this fee? As a business owner myself, I could never treat a customer like that over the loss of a sale, that was really bc of their negligence. This 'Karen' will not ever be returning! read more

After a great initial experience, amazing how it flipped. Background: When I cracked my iPhone 6 screen, I took it here (a bit more expensive than others around, but close to the house) for screen replacement. They were nice, quick and accommodating. I left and there was a different feel to the phone, but I just figured that it was because I was using a cracked screen for a few week due to travel. I then left for Europe and on the flight over, noticed the button would stick and there was some play in the upper right corner of the phone. As time went on, the screen continued to separate as, in my opinion, it was not set properly. I didn't have time to take it in for a while and the screen began to crack at a PERFECT pivot point on the screen due to the rising of the screen. I had the opportunity to take it back in and as I BEGAN to explain what happened, was cut off and showered with statements of "You obviously dropped this", "I have to protect my business" "You damaged this" and "we didn't do this" without allowing me to continue. Each time he cut me off as I was trying to talk with an above statement until I finally just took my phone and walked out. As I was walking out and at the door he said 'Don't you want to talk about it?" Really, after accusing me and cutting me off? Bottom Line: Had he listened for a moment, not been so defensive, and allowed communication ALL of this could have been avoided. This is a phone I am likely going to replace very soon. All I was going to ask was if he could seal the top that never seated properly and put a film or cover over the crack and I would have paid for it. I was not looking for anything free nor attempting to get anything from them. Due to the complete lack of professionalism I will avoid this business and suggest you do the same. The transaction may start well, but if you have any issue or come back, you can bet they will blame, and avoid. Even, if like me, all I was going to do is provide more business. read more

Take your time and money elsewhere!!!! This lousy dump had one simple job to do, and that was to fix an iPhone screen. Look I didn't expect this place to install an original LCD display .. but what I really didn't expect was to receive a DEFECTIVE screen that works efficiently only when it wants too. These "professionals" couldn't even transfer True Tone to the new screen like they were supposed to OR put in a new water resistant seal on the phone like they should have (the seal cost .60 to make). I noticed my device started giving me issues on my way home right after I left this dump (that's how they get you to come back and spend more money) , at that point my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. I came back the next day, explained to the guy behind the counter what the issue was and honestly it felt like I was talking to a used car salesman. I ended up leaving my phone there a SECOND time and to my disappointment they could NOT resolve the on-going issue they sold me (obviously they get all there iPhone screens from the cheapest Chinese wholesaler available and completely discard QUALITY) I was told "burning" through there screens wasn't going to solve anything and was also told ultimately it was my device that needed to be replaced (shocker, right?) even know it had been working flawlessly prior to me even considering this place to replace my cracked screen. I get it.. that whole scheme probably works on 80% of there senior citizen clientele because of the fact they are oblivious when it comes to anything tech related. I really wish I could give this dump 5 stars for outstanding quality service but I simply can't. Not only did I get RIPPED OFF but more importantly I ended up WAISTING my time dealing with this business. Being a real doofus, I failed to notice this company works mainly on Apple products. I dragged my sad HP laptop in and they were very nice about repairing the laptop for the person who didn't read their advertisement. I'd already purchased a new laptop but needed to get info off the old one. It was so slow; ten minutes at least to even do the initial sign on. After a few days, my laptop was running fast and almost like brand new. Apparently it had been infected with all manner of bugaboos and nitwits. The cost was reasonable and the gentlemen I spoke with were all patient and kind. In addition to repairing computers, they sell Apple laptops and desktops along with some interesting extras for your iPhone, like water proof cases. You can replace that missing cord, too. read more

After getting INCORRECT information regarding my iPhone 6Plus at BestBuy (it's basically a paperweight) - I took a chance and got a Groupon for a screen repair from Experimac. This is a great place! I was having problems with two computers. One was not repairable and I was able to buy a replacement there. They transferred all my data to the new laptop and made sure it was working well. The other (iMac) had been running very slowly since I bought it. I had had it into Apple but they said there was no problem. Kevin and crew fixed it and it is now running the way it should. The store is clean and neat. You are greeted when you walk in the door. When I first found Experimax they helped me out a lot!! I was able to get a Mac Book air from the store. But after about 2 month the trackpad stopped working on the computer. No biggy because it came with a 1 year warranty, so I took it to the computer store and asked them to fix it. It took them about a day to get the track pad fixed. About a week later all of the keyboard/ trackpad stopped working (mind you it hasn't even been 6 months of me having the computer and I have never dropped it or spilled anything on it.). I took it in first thing in the morning because I use it as my work computer and needed it fixed because I am working from home. One of the employees said he can have it fixed in a few hours and it shouldn't take him long.. The store was going to be closing soon and I still hadn't gotten a call from them. So I showed up, and they still didn't know 100% what was wrong with it. He said he was going to go back and "test" it. Turns out it needed a whole new part. These things normally don't aggravate me, but the lack of communication and consideration of my time was kinda frustrating. I paid about $999 for the computer, which isn't cheap I'd expect it to last me at least more then 3 months without having to have it repaired. He came back and told me that the computer will need a piece ordered in the mail and should be here in 1-3 days (This was Wednesday, the computer stopped working Tuesday). It is now Friday and I called to see a general idea of when it can get fixed and they said the part won't be getting here till the beginning of the following week. This has put me out a 100% functioning computer for quite a few days. Everyone at the company is very nice, but I will say it has been kinda frustrating not having a working device during this Covid 19 work situation. I would have expected all the parts on the computer to be checked and replaced (if need be) prior to the sale. Seems like a great company and kind people. I guess I just got bad luck on the computer I bought. In no way do I think this company is a bad one. I would still do business with them, but this has been my experience so far. read more

I brought in my iPad 5 with a cracked screen. The tech promised it would be done by end of business the following day and that he would call me. The following day at about 6 pm I called the store to make sure it was ready. It was not! Apparently they didn't have a necessary bracket. The following day I was able to pick up the iPad. It seems fine. Just a few words of advice, if you promise to deliver on a specific date and time do so. Otherwise, a phone call would have been nice. Brought an IPhone 7+ for a cracked screen. We were given a price to repair and told they had correct parts and it would take 1 hour to make screen repair. We came back after 1 hour and was that it would take a little longer, then, after phone was apart they tell us the don't have correct matching color for our phone! We had to settle for a black face on a red phone. Ended up waiting an additional hour. After getting phone back approximately 3 weeks later the phone starts to fail, freeze, shut off on its own. This time we go to Apple store, Per Apple, Experimac installed a cheap screen that was not of any quality causing entire display to fail. Apple fixes phone correctly and it's perfect! Lesson learned, stay away from these amateurs, you want your Apple fixed right go to Apple! We will never go to this store again. We have all records to prove our story. Faulty low qualityreplacement parts cost customers, stating you have the correct part and in fact don't have it is lying! The best thing you can do is refund our money! read more
