This is the 3rd time I've used Genius Computer Repair and Service and each experience is excellent! Giovanny and his son do an excellent job of diagnosing and fixing the issue. This time it was an in-home setting up a new Netgear Nighthawk addition to the home in addition to the Centurylink router interactions that disabled my PLEX home server access remotely. Needless to say, Giovanny identified the need to configure a dedicated port and even used his own phone as a remote Access so I could verify that when on business trips, I can still log in and watch my digital media. While I had a glitch due to my new Netgear satellite somehow automatically linked to my HTPC, I called Giovanny and he guided me to check this and force the only port to be used to the one he set up....works perfectly now. I found this company when building my sister a computer for Christmas. I got everything done and made some mistake that made the computer inoperable. This was the first place I found in my search for help on this issue. I called them and explained my situation and how important it was to me that this issue was to be fixed in 24hrs the weekend before Christmas. To me, this was an impossible task giving the time constraints I was asking for. This company is the only reason the computer I built was ready for Christmas. They got the issue resolved in less than 24hrs. Im not saying that they will be able to work wonders in every situation. I completely understood what I was asking. I have taken several computers to them since then and every single time its been an awesome experience. Im pretty tech savvy myself and every problem I bring them is one I deem impossible. They have always come through for me and I refuse to go anywhere else at this point. I brought them a MacBook recently and the depth they went to find the problem was incredible. From ordering a battery to no avail. I was so surprised that they will only charge you for what fixes the problem and not all the attempts they make without success. Turned out to be a failed motherboard. I was only charged for the motherboard plus a single bench charge. They called me explaining the cost of the motherboard before hand and that they believed it to be the issue. They were correct and was able to fix the issue at the conclusion. They had this computer for about a month and in that time I can only imagine the time they spent on this computer. In their defense, I specifically explained I was in no hurry on this computer and just wanted it fixed. Dropped off my laptop for repair after UBreakIfix told me they didn't do motherboard repairs. First of all, Giovanny and crew are super friendly, so they were very easy to like. I left my computer with them for a diagnostic test and the next day they called with the results. This is the Wednesday before Christmas, which was on Saturday. The motherboard had to be ordered, but it came in on the Monday after Christmas, they immediately installed it and I picked it up the same day. And the charges were less than their estimate! I tried calling for a repair quote. The young man who answered the phone was less than courteous, then when I mentioned what I wanted fixed put me on hold rather than answer the question. When he returned to the phone about two minutes later it was "YEAH?" to which I restated my request. Took a bit to finally get a quote which was approximately $30 higher than the business I had called prior. I thanked him for the quote and before I had finished speaking he interjected with "mmm hmm. On Friday evening I discovered a crack in the touch screen of my Lenovo yoga 2. As soon as computer repair shops opened on Saturday I was on the phone. Three shops were recordings; one shop said they didn't repair touch screens because Lenovo can't supply them with touch screens. Went to a repair shop on Cape Coral pkwy and they quoted a repair price of $250 but that the touch screen was hard to find and they should have one in three weeks. Hek with that, I went one more block to Genius and talked to Giovanni, the owner. He found a touch screen supplier that could get it to him on Monday. That's one business day! Monday afternoon rolls by and at 3pm Brandon calls and says my computer is ready. I get there at 5pm and Giovanni has my computer ready and working perfectly. He quoted me a price of $259 but gave me a $10 discount for being a veteran. Total was $260 with tax. Gave him a $20 tip, I was so happy with his service. Giovanni is what customer service is all about, folks. Don't try anybody else on Cape Coral Pkwy. It's now Thursday and the computer works perfectly. read more
