A family favorite! We love the traveling exhibits, the play area for small children and the movies in the dome theatre. We also can't wait for all the upcoming additions outside!

"My grandkids and I had an amazing time here. It was a fun, educational, and hands-on experience in a beautiful facility. We thoroughly enjoyed the interactive exhibits and the live science shows. It's a great place to learn and have fun together."

Exceeded my expectations! We took our 3 year old daughter here and she had the best time. So many interesting things to do and learn! Great parking and worth the price.

Kids had a blast. Loved the aviation exhibit. We went on a Wednesday morning hoping to avoid traffic. I spent the entire time nervous because no one was social distancing or making their kids do so. Staff didn't even try. We were the only ones in masks. So disappointed that they didn't require masks.

Our kids are 12, 10, and 9. They loved this place and really couldn't get enough. Loved the amount of hands on activities they had and the brain teaser room (as we called it) was fun for all in tow including mom and dad! We ended up getting the membership even though we're just visiting and glad we did as we went 3 times!!!

Plenty to see and do for all ages. Awesome kid friendly area for infants, toddlers and up. The aviation hall is my favorite, plenty to keep myself and my toddler entertained.

This is for kids and if you seek having "family time" with them, then you may have found a spot. Some of the kids looked bored too though.

Many old photos, retro signage and that unmistakable "this is where it all started" energy. Even from the wrong side of the door, it's still pretty cool. Pizza Hut was founded here in Wichita in 1958 by brothers Dan and Frank Carney. After decades of expansion and multiple ownership changes, it is currently in the process of being sold by Yum! Brands to a capital company and a Chinese partner. The chain struggled in recent years due to declining US sales, increased competition and the rise of delivery-first rivals with lower costs. The latest news is that the sale is expected to close later this year, marking the first time since the 1970s that Pizza Hut will not be owned by PepsiCo or Yum. A sad new chapter. (Just don't ask me how many Pizza Huts I've reviewed because I wasn't helping them much.) This now joins my growing collection of "firsts" that includes the first Starbucks in Seattle, the first Dunkin in Quincy, the first Timmy's in Hamilton and now the birthplace of the Hut. We found that was not the case, and this museum was one of the hidden gems. The quaint little self-serve museum sits on the Wichita State University campus grounds. The doors are unlocked at 9am. One you open the door, the lights automatically turn on, and you're free to roam! Keep in mind that this is a very tiny museum, but if you read everything and watch all of the TV segments, you could end up staying for 45 minutes tops.

Designed in 1915 for Henry and Elsie Allen, the house is a beautiful example of Wright's Prairie Style, all long horizontal lines, art glass, and a low roofline that settles into the neighborhood in that unmistakable Wright way. They do offer tours, but this random weekday after lunchtime wasn't one of those times, so I just walked the perimeter and appreciated how the geometric detailing and symmetry reveal themselves from different angles, making it absolutely worth a quiet stop. The gift shop is so little and that is fine but it is difficult to herd the guests and the tour guide we had was really knowledgable. The interpretive panels around the paths are actually fun to read and they give a quick, friendly crash course on the history of the Plains tribes without feeling heavy or academic. With the Big and Little Arkansas (pronounced AR-Kansas) Rivers rushing together right below, there is a steady sound of moving water that makes the whole place feel calm even when there are people around. The pedestrian bridges are honestly half the experience. They are cable-stayed and with those tall, clean looking masts and the cables fanning out, it feels light and modern. Walking across gives a great rive of the rivers on both sides and the design makes the approach to the Keeper feel intentional. Almost like the bridges are guiding you to the statue. It is one of those spots where the setting and the structure work together so well that you end up enjoying the walk as much as the destination. [Review 734 of 2026 - 85 in Kansas - 25915 overall]

I am from the East Coast, by the Smithsonian and all DC museums. I have been spoiled by art my whole life. I have also taken art and art history courses. My partner said the good art is at the bigger museums. He is not wrong! So what's left over is what's here at this smaller museum in the middle of the country. That's sad. People in this area deserve to see beautiful art too. The visiting exhibit is awful right now. I don't want to say what it is. But it's just awful and we paid $6 per person to see it. I looked at everything and had to get out of there. Nothing enjoyable. The museum was packed. I think we went on Valentine's Day or thereabouts. We got food. It took quite a while to get the food. Else enjoyed the live jazz! Or at least I did! Nothing like live jazz. I am an artist and I would love to have my art in this museum - then I know beautiful art would be hanging up that people would enjoy looking at. Driving home, my partner said he wouldn't pay $6 to see that visiting art exhibit again, but he would pay $100 to see my art - which is hanging in his own living room! I feel very sad about my review. But it's my truth. Art is subjective , I suppose. I hope future exhibits knock it out of the park. Hopefully this was just a low point for the museum.
