Wow just a very clean and love the plants, which there was more since it's a garden inn. The staff was very pleasant to talk to, I was bored in around 5 am and the guy in the lobby add coffee was talkative so we chatted. lol. So before I get into the room info, I was afraid of staying here was gonna be noisy, due to the fact of they put us next to the elevator, (lol) and there was a soccer event going on, (and did I mention it's all kid's soccer) , so hotel was sold out with kids everywhere. And I have to admit I heard no noise from the elevator, and nothing at night. However about 7to 8 am , we did hear some running but it was muffled Our room was very nice. You walk in to the tv rooom area , bathroom to your left, and as you walk in more you'll see the mini kitchen and mini fridge. This room as its own ac/heater unit separate from the bedroom. Just fyi. There is a sofa and single chair , both very comfortable for a big guy like me. Walking into the bedroom , beautiful big room, with a good size bed, King of course, tv on dresser, and 2 bathroom with shower and separate bathtub.

The amenities say include a blow dryer but this standard unit barely puffs air. The bathroom fan does not function so the bathroom air did not exchange, I don't need to elaborate. But with that, Elk Grove is a good-hotel desert. Seemingly, the competitor hotels are old and outdated, and this one is rather new and updated. Right off the highway, it's located pretty central to everything. The complimentary breakfast was regular. They did have DIY waffles. There is a small, not heated outdoor pool. The rooms were fine, the beds comfy. There was a small, but decent gym. The front staff were nice. Overall, a fine hotel and rating depending on price. $200ish - great. $300ish for Elk grove - overpriced. Do what you will!

The ambiance in the front lobby is very chill, clean, and the staff are nice. The hotel rooms look like studio apartments with the fridge, kitchen, dishwasher, provided utensils, desk, etc. I do feel like some of the hotel rooms that I've stayed in here could have been much cleaner. Also, the trash cans in the bathroom and in the room do not have bags in them, which makes some people throw trash that will touch the trash cans. The last time that I stayed here, the kitchen sponge to wash the dishes were previously used, and the paper towel roll in the kitchen was all dirty. For breakfast in the mornings, they are alright. The eggs and sausage were a bit cold, I definitely feel like they can put the breakfast in food trays that can keep them warm. I do recommend coming here and trying the place out and see if you like it. My first few visits here were good, but my recent visit here was alright. There are some hotel rooms here that look more modern and more clean, like having a spacious shower with glass doors. On my most recent visit here, I had a bathtub shower with shower curtains; so it depends on which hotel room you book!

Check in went well, they had my reservation all booked and my choice of room. I get an upgrade cause I'm one of the Platinum members and they gave me my 500 points no problem. The room looked fine and the WiFi worked, that's one of the main things so I can get my work done. The rest of the room was clean and the AC worked fine. I checked the bathroom and every thing was fine, the hot water worked fine and there weren't any stray hairs about. Breakfast was the standard IHG Holiday Inn stuff. Hot breakfast of eggs or omelet thingies, sausages and bacon and cereal if you want just that. There's breads and muffins to toast as well as jelly and butter. My stay so far has been fine, no problems and a decent quiet room.

I walked into their lobby and was amazed how beautiful and high tech the interior design looked. I loved it! I booked my stay and was on the 2nd floor of the 3 story hotel. My room overlooked the pool. They are in the middle of renovations and soon this hotel will be even better...hard to believe. I went to breakfast which was free and was again amazed at what had changed in the world. The first was a pancake machine where you just push a button and you can watch 2 pancakes get poured, moved on a conveyer belt as they cook and then drop onto your plate. Be sure to have your plate ready..haha. The breakfast bar was clean and well stocked with eggs, sausage, oatmeal and so much more. The coffee station was fantastic. It is open 24 hours and you choose your coffee beans, had decaf, if you know me, lol, then the coffee machine brewed and then poured my coffee. A truly fantastic coffee station. My room was so beautiful and clean with so many nice touches. I love the dove hand wash and body lotion. Love it here tub and shower shampoo, conditioner and body wash. So many towels and a fridge and microwave. The bed was soft with 4 pillows. A nice size tv and the room was just lovely. Souzan checked me in with kindness and professional style and I decided to become a Holiday sink Express member right then. Even though I am only here one night, I will definitely cone back here to Elk Grove Holiday Inn Express again. It is also next to Mimi's Cafe and Old Navy. What a great location. My sister and I booked a stay here because we were from out of town for a family event. The first room we were assigned to it was dirty!! There was food everywhere and the bed was not clean. The bed was undone from the last guest. The bathroom was dirty. It had look like somebody literally just checked out and then we were assigned it. Nobody even bother to check if it was cleaned. Then the second room we were assigned, the sheets were dirty. I called the front desk to explain again the room doesn't look clean either. The bed sheets especially. She brought up new sheets and blankets and expected us to change them. Sorry but that's not my job to do. At that point my sister and I did not feel comfortable staying there. With the unsanitary rooms and then the fact the front desk person, Tanya expected us to change the dirty sheets and blankets for the second was room is absolutely ridiculous. When we went back downstairs to explain how we felt and everything, Tanya did not seem to care, she didn't apologize or anything. We ended up checking out and not even staying. And now the hotel manager is ignoring our calls for a refund and hotels.com says they can't get ahold of the manager there. With the price of the room too for a ONE night stay, absolutely not worth it! You're better off finding another hotel. Zero stars!

As a frequent traveler, I try…read moreto stay at IHG properties, when available, but this was the first time I regretted that decision. To be quite frank, IHG should be embarrassed to have their name attached to this hotel. They apparently don't clean the rooms unless you explicitly ask but they have IHG's clean policy stickered all over their lobby. And when they do "clean" the room, they don't replace it with clean towels. The exterior windows appeared as they haven't been cleaned for at least 6 months. When I went down to ask about the room, the housekeepers already left and the best they could do was hand me sheets and towels and told me to change them myself because "I'm sure not going to do it". If that wasn't enough to sour the experience, the AC thermostat isn't actually connected to the air conditioner as they say, but if you open the cover, that's where the true controls are. I understand the desire to save money but pulling an okie doke to prevent customers from using the AC is borderline ridiculous. I won't be returning here but I wouldn't be surprised to see it taped shut next time, if there were one. Additionaly, their key system is from 1995 using stripe key cards that demagnetized every 8 hours. Nearly every time we left the room and came back I had to go to the front desk to get the cards reprogrammed. The worst part, when we went to get them reprogrammed the very last time, a guy at the front desk who never helped us before, meaning he didn't know for sure we were guests, didn't even ask for my name or ID and just gave us access to the room. And at no point was there an apology for any of the many inconveniences. In short, if you're looking for a clean, safe and welcoming place to stay while visiting Elk Grove, stay the heck away from this place.

The tall ceilings and quiet rooms--thanks to excellent insulation--made the stay very comfortable. I also liked the different water options available near the front desk, especially since the bottled water in the rooms cost $10 each. The music in the pool area created a great atmosphere, and the jacuzzi was a nice size and very enjoyable. However, the main issue was the mandatory valet fee--even when not using valet service. This makes no sense and feels unreasonable. If arriving by Uber or not bringing a car, there is no justification for being charged valet. The website does not clearly state that valet is mandatory, and there was no prior notice when booking. At check-in, staff simply said, "We have to charge it anyway," regardless of whether the service was used. The fee is also quite high at $52 per night, which adds up quickly for a service not utilized. According to previous reviews, valet fees have increased significantly over the past three years. I would not stay at this Westin Hotels & Resorts location again. The accumulation of mandatory fees makes the experience feel transactional rather than guest-focused. I would much rather voluntarily tip valet staff when I actually use and appreciate their service, rather than be required to pay a substantial fee regardless of need. Overall, while the hotel has many appealing qualities, the mandatory valet charge without clear disclosure or usage was a major drawback.
