My 16 year-old son got a car for Christmas and of course the first thing he wanted was to buy a new stereo for it. After checking out a few local places in the north Stockton area (& Yelp reviews) we decided on Express Car Audio. I went back-and-forth to the different stores before buying to learn a little more each time. I'm not a "car" guy but I am a sensible consumer and do not give out Yelp or business recommendations easily which is why I'm taking the time to give credit to the owner and business of Express Car Audio. After learning about stereo products & features & comparing apples to apples w other stereo shops, the owner gave us a good deal on a stereo. He also gave us the best deal on replacing the motor for the auto door lock and not using the "cheap" parts. The owner guarantees the install and explained that while it is a "standard" guarantee within the industry, he won't delay the fix/repair for weeks (or even months) as a local competitor down Hammer Lane has been known to do. The install was done in the time-frame stated, no unexpected "issues" where the price had to be increased/inflated and it has been about over a month since the work has been done and no complaints or issues at all. In an industry that doesn't have the highest reputation, it is nice to know there is a respectable and trusted business like Express Car Audio. read more

Nobody knows how to communicate. Miguel is only one with answers, except he works elsewhere. Owner will yell and if you are at an impasse, terminate negotiations. I got a keyless entry installed yesterday-- mine's a 92 Pathfinder and my old one gave up ~10 years ago. I thought the price--$129+tax was reasonable, Elias was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The work was done ~20 minutes within the stated time. I never rush a technician because I want the work done right. Came here 5 years ago for a window tint and it's completely purple. Talked to some other guys at another window tint shop and did some research which concluded to cheap tint being used. But the one star mainly comes from damaging the plastic trim around my window. My car was brand new at the time and I took pics before bringing it in. When I picked up my car I had scuffs around the plastic trim surrounding my window. I used rain guards to cover it up. Basically they use cheap tint and they're not careful with how they apply the tint. read more

I have had decent experiences here before but today was a disaster. I needed some speakers and an amp installed...I was in town and hoped they could take care of me. The install price was a tad high but I figured they were professionals so I went ahead with the install. They said to give them a few hours to finish it.. I came back after a couple hours...they said it would be 45 minutes more...I came back after a hour and a half and the guy said he needed another hour. My boyfriend got a new-to-him commuter car yesterday and it needed a new stereo system. We started at Best Buy, but they didn't have what he needed and were ridiculously priced to order the parts. We found Express Car Audio off of google and the guys were great!! One man cut him a deal because he thought one of the parts was too expensive and didn't want to rip my boyfriend off. Upon agreeing on the brand (Clifford car alarm) and price, my car was in the garage and the installer went to work. I hung around till the work was completed. The place is clean and has an open setting. Elias was very friendly and kind and appears to treat his customers with respect while being knowledgeable on his products. There is a nearby Starbucks within walking distance in case you hang around. When the job was completed, Aaron who installed the alarm introduced himself and gave me a run down on how the alarm work and I was informed if there was any problems to bring it back.
