Price for new starter for 2015 BMW X5. What you put was remanufactured, so probably 25% less than this at least.

I wish I had read the 1 & 2 * reviews. I would have given zero pr negative stars if possible. 1. He overcharged more than 6 times ($600) for the starter. He showed me that he would replace with some OEM or Bosch like manufacture but got some cheap re-manufactured starter with no real brand name. Even on Amazon a new starter for my car can be found for $75. When tried to talk about it, he was not pleasant and ran in his car. 2.Broke another part of my car while fixing , which normally costs around $16 ( price quoted by spare part company), and to replace that he charged $160 from me. 3. Didn't fix the car completely. When I asked to run the tests and show me that there are no codes left. He didn't clearly showed it and said I am the mechanic or you are. I know its all good. After driving a mile, car engine light showed up. 4. Left multiple (more than 10) paint dings on the car hood. Overall, I would not let him touch my car even from 100 ft pole. He is untrustworthy, unreliable and lots of attitude. I dare you to show the parts invoice

    Incorrectly installed.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent service performed on my vehicle. I wish you had informed me upfront that you prefer not to work on German cars, as this would have allowed me to seek a more suitable mechanic. Several issues arose with the repair. 1.The lower control arm was damaged during the work. Additionally, the ball joint was installed underneath the arm rather than within it. This wasn't corrected after I pointed it out. 2.The rear control arm bolt was installed incorrectly (positioned on top instead of underneath, with the nut on top). 3.As a result, I must now lower the entire subframe to redo the work properly. These expansion bolts are designed to be reusable when installed with hand tools such as ratchets and combination wrenches. Using "high torque impact drivers" can cause them to strip, which appears to have contributed to the difficulties encountered. Regarding the tie rod assembly, the up-and-down movement is acceptable; however, I specifically pointed out the excessive in-and-out movement in the inner tie rod, which is a concern. I also noted that the outer tie rod appeared seized to the inner tie rod and hoped your experience and tools would allow you to separate them. Instead, you insisted that the up-and-down play wasn't normal for this German vehicle and became stubborn when I raised the issue. While I agree that replacing the entire tie rod assembly is the proper solution when the components are fused together, I expected a higher level of professionalism and technical understanding of the distinction between axial (in-and-out) and vertical movement. I appreciate that you completed half the job at a very reasonable price half of what I anticipated and I paid the agreed upon amount in full. However, the quality of the work fell short of the standards I associate with a professional of your caliber. In the future, if a vehicle type is outside your preferred scope, I respectfully suggest disclosing that at the outset so the customer can make an informed decision. Reply to your comment; Yes, regarding the passenger side specifically, I cut the threads on the outer tie rod to facilitate its removal from the steering knuckle. The hex socket (Allen key) on the tie rod end had become stripped, causing the assembly to spin freely within the knuckle without backing out. I am not disputing your assessment of the driver's side. I am simply highlighting the issues that arose from the work performed on the passenger side, which was the area you primarily addressed. Please note that I am posting this review due to Yelp's terms and conditions. The individual in question is not a licensed mechanic and may not carry liability insurance for his business. I strongly recommend exercising caution when considering hiring him. Should he cause damage to your vehicle, you may have little recourse other than pursuing the matter in small claims court. I have already contacted the appropriate authorities regarding this situation. I am not seeking damages, my goal is simply to correct the error that was made. The replacement part required to fix the issue costs approximately $150, which makes further engagement with him unnecessary and not worth the hassle.

I had already called another shop and had such a bad experience that it honestly made my anxiety worse. Something in me said "don't go there," and I'm so glad I listened to that feeling. I ended up finding Collision King, and from the very first phone call, I felt a sense of relief. When I walked in, Jason greeted me right away. I showed him the damage and explained everything I had been dealing with, and he didn't just listen -- he genuinely cared. He took his time with me, explained everything step by step, and made sure I understood what was going on. I walked in feeling stressed and unsure, and within minutes I felt like I was finally in the right place. I also had the chance to meet the owner and his wife, and that just confirmed everything. You can feel the integrity, the kindness, and the way they treat people like more than just a customer. That's rare. I've never gone through anything like this before, and they didn't make me feel lost or confused -- they guided me through it. They went above and beyond in a way you don't see often anymore. If you're reading this and trying to decide where to go, please trust me -- this is the place. They have heart, they have values, and they truly care. I walked in feeling overwhelmed and left feeling supported and taken care of. I'm honestly so grateful for them. I wish I could do more than just say thank you

Essentially, you have to keep a $5K balance on account. I find that acceptable, as most of the initial risk is for the shop doing the work, so I'm cool with it. It limits the risk on both ends, and gives the shop a small initial advantage. Either side can divorce with only $5K of funds in contention. When you're talking large project dollars, that's maybe a week of work lost if either side thinks things aren't working out. Communication has been very good. I haven't had many opportunities to visit the shop, but I get detailed invoices and occasional shop photos of the work completed. None of it has been superfluous or just adding on goodies I don't need or are out of scope for the project. I get great questions about how far I want to go, and have dialed-back a few suggestions because I have a longer term plan for for the car. I don't feel oversold about anything. Shop is also very responsive if I want to communicate with Leonard or anyone else that has sent me questions. I, specifically, handed my car off to them and said, "I don't have a date I need it back." I've been very happy with the work they've done over the last two years, and we're very, very close to being done. Their work has been meticulous.
