Outstanding customer service. In December I bought a new belt and haven't had an opportunity to wear it until last week. (You know, one of those moments when you buy something and that piece of clothing is just hanging out in your closet with tags? Yep, just like that) So I finally put on the belt and literally as I locked it, a belt loop fell off. On a new belt! Sadden, I ran to Express to see what could be done. I was 100% ready to be turned around due to item being purchased over 90 days, but they exchanged the broken one for a new one no questions asked! What a kind and attentive staff! read more

Most of the staff here are usually helpful in most cases and they always have good stuff to pick from. One of the managers here seem to be challeneged when having to override mistakes some of her cashiers make. Also she informed me that they do not remove links from their watches when someone needs it. I find it hard to understand that they are not equipped to service products that they sell especially when all the watches come the same size for men and women. I was told to take it up with corporate. I was also told I can get the links taken out across the street for $8...RIdiculous! Other than that goofy issue, I always have a good experience here from the staff and find the clothing quality as I do with most Express stores. I'm so glad that there is a replacement for the Express that closed at Century Mall. This Express is much, much bigger. They have EVERYTHING! They have womens clothes, mens clothes, sales, new items and lots of fun jewelry, purses and even sandals. Every time I've walked into this Express it is immaculately in order. I love that. Even their Sales boxes and racks are incredibly neat and orderly. I've always been greeted with a geniune HAPPY smile and a "how can I help you?" and they mean it. The sales people there just want to help you find what you are looking for and are not just trying to annoy you. Great job! Love the new store. I'll be back many times over. read more

Had a great experience at this location yesterday (1/6) when I was there shortly after 6PM. Went to return a pair of jeans and the two staff members did a great job of accommodating my request as well as making recommendations for a replacement. The store was organize but the customer service was not the best. I came into the store not dressed up and didn't receive any service. The only interaction I had with the staff was when I left the store and they asked if I needed anything as they eye balled my bag.... kinda pretentious and left feeling like if you don't look like you don't have money they won't talk to ya. read more

Nothing against the store or it's clothes. Just hear to complain about the outdated system they use for paying the bill. They go through Comenity Bank and it always requires me to verify myself when I use the same computer every time. Also, it makes you have different log-in info from regular website and bill pay website. Get it together! read more

I normally wouldn't review a store instead of a restaurant, but I have to give a huge shout-out to Zach. A lot of times when you go to a clothing store, you either can't find someone to help, or a million people swarm you asking to show you certain clothes. But my man Zach was the perfect mix of helpful and hands-off. So I never felt pressured, but also felt like I could easily get help when I needed it. I HATE shopping for clothes. Awesome experience! I've been to a few different Express stores, some are super cluttered and some have sales people that bombard you as soon you walk in, others have no salespeople in sight. This is like the goldylocks "just right" store! Clean, big, and organized, even during their big sale. Best part was the salesmen, Zach, who tried so hard to find the dress I wanted in a different color. He contacted a bunch of stores and even stood with me to figure out what other stores where nearby me or my work! Awesome! Even though we couldn't find it, his enthusiastically helpful attitude totally made up for it! This is definitely the Express to go to (and look for Zach, he is amazing)!! read more

They left the security tags on my clothes which led to a stressful and costly trip back. They offered a non apology and I feel like a fool for having shopped there. The manager Janet was terrible and I would not recommend anyone shop here. read more

Positive reinforcement? I have flattered. I have tried threats. I have tried bribery. I have promised naked gratitude. I have begged, pleaded, made attempts to bully with a crowbar... Nothing and I mean nothing will get Handsome Boyfriend to try on clothes in a store. He truly hates shopping with all of his being. Express for put pictures of Kate Upton all over the place. This is genius. Because those pictures of the beautiful, busty, bodacious Kate Upton made it possible to lure him in somewhat unsuspecting. The clean hanging racks, organized by color and size made it fast to find the casual shirts, even the sale section. I tried to find pants, but other than jeans- the sizes are small and skinny- so if you are tall and athletic you may have far better luck here for casual shirts, not pants. This is my observation, not my choice in stock selection. Believe me, if they carried pants that had the remote potential to fit he might've tried those on as well. Sadly, everything in pants were small, skinny and not in his size. The staff had fitting rooms clear and ready for the shirts with no fuss. Before he knew it, in minutes, there is a bag of five new shirts... of which he will wear one, that looks so good, I may now have to bikini wrestle Kate Upton to keep her from his handsomeness (This is what I tell him). I was looking for some work clothes and figured I'd stop into this location since it's close to home. I was greeted within 5 minutes of walking in, which was nice. Then another girl started a fitting room for me before I even had to ask for one. I found some awesome Editor pants and a black pencil skirt that fit just right. Then I noticed that the pants were buy one get one half off too. Score! They also offer military discounts here too, fyi. I was in and out in 30 minutes and found everything I needed. Every staff member was attentive and helpful. The only thing I'd like to see is a bigger selection of clothes. But for this being a smaller location, it's not bad at all. read more

I stopped by Express this past Friday on my way home from work to see what new clothing articles I could add to my closet. The store was getting ready to close so I hurried up and picked out a couple of items. While checking out I started talking to the cashier, Mary and was explaining to her how I am a huge fan of Express but that my favorite pair of jeans from there had ripped and I only had them for a couple of months. Mary told me to bring them in and she would exchange them for a new pair, and then I told her that I had already exchanged them once before because they ripped again, but she said it was still okay. So I came back on Sunday and she was there and helped me exchange them while having a great conversation. I am so glad that there are still great caring sales people out there! Way to go! read more

I simply cannot say enough about the AMAZING help I received from Billy, Brian, and Kevin!!! WOWIE! Let's see...I came in with an enormous order of online items that just didn't fit. Billy went through them so patiently, one-by-one, then recruited Brian to assist and the two worked meticulously to make sure I received a full refund promptly. Then I had to go through the entire store and re-buy the same stuff in different sizes after trying them on. Well, that was a whole other process and Billy cooly said "that's why we're here--to help you!" Wow!! If I were in their shoes, I'd be my own worst customer for the sheer volume of items...and yet, they were incredible patient, nice, supportive, and made the shopping experience love-filled!!! I didn't want to leave. But then I had to...because they were closing! Still, they didn't rush me. What a team. WHAT A TEAM! I rarely review stores (unless they're really bad or really great). This Express is the best store in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area. I was in search of size 2,short dress pants. After searching through stacks of pants I came up empty handed. This is when Manny, a sales associate, at Express came in and saved the day. He informed me that my size was very popular and seemed to sell out fast. He scoured the store for me and came up with the perfect pair of gray slacks for me.
