Lindsay became my bff the second I walked in. So here's the sitch. Im visiting from NYC and getting a prdicure at a nail salon around the corner. Sitting next to Kat, we instantly start chatting up and talking about the neighborhood and our trip. We're in Chicago and then heading to Vegas for a festival which I still don't have an outfit for. And as luck would have it, she says she works at Felt around the corner and we should definitely head over! We head over to the magical world of Felt and meet the magical Lindsay. Lindsay was my fairy godbestie. She listened to where we were going, my style, and my body. I recently lost weight so I don't have lots of clothes or much style. Clothing shopping has always been tough for me. Lindsay pulled together pieces for me and set up a room. Cue the early 2000's movie changing room montage. Also did I mention the free champagne?! So I'm switching in and out of outfits for my partner and Lindsay to look at on the couch and big mirror which my partner and I drink champagne. I didn't even give Lindsay my sizes (because I don't even know my size anymore) and yet almost every piece fit. And every piece was a different size, medium, large, different numbers, etc. like is she a wizard?! We left the store with summer shorts, an awesome blue, strapless top that ties in the back, and a white skirt with black polka dots for funsies for work (great material, holds it's like 60s waves and is double lined so not see through) Not only did I walk out of there with clothes, but I walked out of there happy, with CONFIDENCE, and a beautiful sense sisterhood. Lindsay is such a girls girl. As a curvy woman, clothing shopping can be tough and disheartening. But if there was a Lindsay in every store, the world would be a better place. P.S. for Lindsay: Girl, the Vegas festival was CANCELLED. Can you believe it?! lol but don't worry I will still be wearing these pieces all summer! Thank you for everything! read more

FELT or Fake? After supporting a local business by spending a lot of money on expensive clothing, I was criticized for gifting a "person I just met" and the staff with handwritten notes, crystals for success, and precious stones--after my first visit. My first visit to the store was a good one. I also provided the store with some articles and bags to sell in order to support their success. On my last visit, I was pulled to the side by the owner and my shopping habits were criticized. I was accused of abusing the return policy. My bags were later returned to me in a haphazard manner in a shabby box. Some of the gifts were returned in the box, but none of the precious stones were included. This was followed by unneeded, nasty conversations with the owners and a threatening email. The conversations included a mysterious business partner who was not involved in any of my previous experiences. I have learned that all of the experience was like recovering from a hangover after a drunken night. FELT has LEFT me with nothing but FAKE expensive clothing, FAKE hospitality, and FAKE friendship. If you're looking for designer clothes, go online. The quality, prices and customer experience are much better. read more

Obsessed with everything Felt! I've been shopping here for a few months and always leave with some awesome pieces. Every stylist is awesome at this location. Special thanks to Amanda and Cat! They always pull some amazing pieces that make me swoon. I recently went in for their Meg Shops event. They custom tailored all the pieces with pins and sent them off to get adjusted for free. (What a unique and awesome touch!) The layout is minimalist and the price point does vary. Expect to pay between 100-1000. But it is really important to note that you will stand out in Chicago and you will have these pieces forever. When the quality is amazing and the piece stands out, the price isn't always a big factor for me. I spend some time styling part-time and I always get inspiration walking in and shopping. I've discovered unique brands while making lasting relationships with the staff. They do a great job not only letting you know about each pieces function, they also tell you the history of the brand. I used to work in retail for many years and appreciate the knowledgeable assistance. Sometimes it's hard to shop when in a rush or you don't have a idea of what you are looking for. The helpful push by the stylist at Felt to try something I wouldn't have thought to pull myself, always leads me to buying the piece and wearing it constantly. I know that may not be everyone's preferred method of shopping ...but trust me it leads you to key heading home with some key pieces that you will love. read more

I really love the quality of clothes here, so whenever I want some new clothes, this is always my "shop to go". I bought some tops, skirts and also some dresses. I think I bought too much, but it's okay, I love all that I chose. The dress is what I love the most, it's so cute and I think it will make me more charming. I love Felt! Catherine and Paige are amazing at styling and having fun. My first visit was while exploring the neighborhood with my boyfriend. We walked in and they had some great funky pieces from top designer names (no not your grandmas designers - Chanel, YSL, Givenchy, Gucci). Cat asked if I would "play dress up" and so we plopped my guy on the couch and gave him a glass of champagne while I let Cat style me. I would say she was 90% on the mark of what I wear (and size!) and what flatters my body. Coming in wearing sweats and a sweatshirt, that is impressive. Felt isn't pushy on making the sale but wants you to find pieces you love (and pieces you thought you could never love). About two weeks later, I stopped in again and retried a few pieces that I couldn't stop thinking about and I picked up two great pieces. I came back a few days ago (they are having a super quiet one off sale - so hurry up) with my cousin. She just started college and I wanted her to find a style she could love/embrace with this new chapter of her life. We had so much fun and it was great seeing pieces that wouldn't work for me on her. LOVE this boutique. I met Catherine at Satine in LA. She helped me shop a couple of times and always remembered me and stayed in touch. I live in SF so these couple of times were over the course of 2 years! I discovered this special little shop while walking through the neighborhood, and decided to pop in. Catherine and another stylist chose pieces and outfits that I never would have chosen for myself, and the vast majority of it looked fabulous and fit my personality well. I was stunned that they could size up my potential style so quickly. There was a wide array of options, from under 100 to 750 in price, depending on the piece. I left with some very comfortable, flattering, and stylish denim (205) and a lovely layering top (88). I plan to return soon to acquire more unique pieces for my wardrobe over time, and also to experience the styling and influences from the very attentive and thoughtful staff.
