Do not trust them with your money or your appliances. The Experience: My Whirlpool washer had a clear suspension issue (OFB error) which caused the machine to shake so violently it broke the lid. Their technician charged me nearly $800--the price of a brand-new machine--claiming a lid replacement would fix the problem. It didn't. The machine continued to shake because the root cause (the suspension) was never addressed. The "Warranty" Scam: When I reported the ongoing issue WITHIN the warranty period, they sent the same technician who admitted the suspension was faulty and demanded another $400. When I questioned why this wasn't diagnosed initially (since the broken lid was a direct symptom of the suspension failure), they became hostile. Management Malpractice: The Manager is incredibly rude and lacks basic professional ethics. She flatly refused to acknowledge that the lid broke because of the suspension, treating them as unrelated issues to justify double-charging for labor and parts. Despite their own technician admitting the actual problem was never fixed, they are now trying to recharge me for labor again. The Bottom Line: They will misdiagnose your machine, take your money for "repairs" that don't work, and then hide behind technicalities to extort more cash once they've already dismantled your appliance. They have no integrity, their "warranty" is worthless, and their management is a nightmare to deal with. SAVE YOUR MONEY. BUY A NEW MACHINE INSTEAD OF DEALING WITH THESE CHEATS. Wrong Diagnosis, Extra Charges, and No Installation. Express Appliance Repair Winnipeg I contacted Express Appliance Repair to repair my microwave. During the first visit, the technician said the problem was with the internal electrical panel of the microwave and not the wall outlet. He said replacing the panel would be very expensive and that, due to the age of the appliance, it made more sense to buy a new microwave. I paid for this diagnostic visit. Based on this diagnosis, I purchased a new microwave and scheduled a second visit for installation. I was quoted $250 and told the cost was high because the work involved electrical work that needed to be up to code. When the technician arrived, he said it would cost more to remove the old microwave from the wall. This extra charge was not discussed in advance. No electrical work was done. The microwave was never installed or put on the wall. No repair or installation was completed, and my kitchen was left in a mess. I was charged $200 in service fees. After they left, I discovered the real issue was the power outlet, not the microwave. My old microwave still works. I paid $200 for a misdiagnosis, wasted time, and spent about $400 on a new microwave I did not need. I would not recommend this company. read more

Terrible. The front glass panel of our oven had fallen off, and they put it back on with double-sided tape. Then when it fell off a couple hours later, they charged us for the second visit, even though the person on the phone clearly said it was covered by warranty. I wish I had looked up reviews prior to using this company (conveniently they have no google page and that should be a sign). I was charge $250.00 for him to fix an issue with my washer which took 5 minutes. Usually I don't mind paying because they're trained to find the issue and you're paying for the experience however when he left I noticed the dryer wasn't working now. I called and he said it would be an additional $110.00 service fee and he couldn't come for a week. I contacted another company who came and the problem was the previous tech had left a wire exposed. This place is so bad that they don't have a Google listing so that they can avoid public bad reviews. We have been unhappy throughout this whole experience, but bad only got worse and continued downward. We had a technician come to the house and diagnose our issue as a circuit board being fried - no problem he says, we have some in stock, we can be back in 3-4 days to fix this up if we put the deposit down right there. Great! 7 days come and go, and we hear NOTHING from Express Repair. We follow up and are told that they will get back to us about that part, I'm guessing because the lady that we spoke to didn't have the part ordered at all, she called back and told us it would be a 3 week wait for the part. Well at 3 weeks and the price they were charging us, we could have been done with the issue and had a new dryer already! They tell us that they will still charge us for the inspection, as well as charging us a "30% restocking fee" if we decide to "cancel the order" - the one I'm assuming was placed between when we called and when they called back. Another person in our house then followed up because 3 weeks is a crazy wait time for a part we were told was in stock - especially when that was the reason we went ahead with the repair at all - and was advised not 3 weeks, 3 days! So we thought, cool, they're lying to everybody, but if it's really 3 days then that's great. Another week passes and we hear nothing, so we follow up and lo and behold, they have the part! Tech comes to the house and... IT'S THE WRONG PART. 3-4 days for the next one. We said that we had been lied to already from 3 people that work for this place and so we don't trust that it'll only be that long. We decide ultimately after being messed around for the last 3 weeks with no dryer, that we want to cancel the order completely, to do so we had to speak to a manager because they weren't going to give us any refund at all even though they were less than helpful and actively made more headaches for our family. The manager was supposed to call us on Tuesday before 5pm, didn't, we didn't hear from her at all on Wednesday, so we follow up - and she's not in the office! We finally get a call from her on Thursday, and her tone off the hop was rude, combative, and extremely unhelpful. I imagine this is how this company makes the money to keep running, by scamming people at the inspection and then lying their heads off until the clients eventually are exhausted and need to find an alternate solution but are out the money regardless. Here we are, two-hundred dollars later with no repair, no solution from the company. TERRIBLE experience. I will be posting this review everywhere that I can, though they have made it difficult to get the word out about their awful customer service and inexperienced technicians. They tricked my family and me into paying a $100 fee after their so-called technician quoted $600 to fix the oven--PLUS another $300 for a part--when I could literally just buy a new one for that price! I called to cancel IMMEDIATELY, and within just 4 MINUTES of their ridiculous quote, they had the nerve to say I'd be charged a $100 cancellation fee because I "didn't cancel within the 3-hour window." CAUTION - DON'T USE! Advertising is misleading. Service charge went from $99 to $135. And more false advertising. Service guy did not even pull the wall oven from the cavity to test anything. We advised him that it was likely the thermal fuse/switch that had tripped after self cleaning, but he never checked that. Told us we didn't have that fuse! Tried to upsell us on buying a different more expensive part - a power controller for $800. Oven had a working power display and turned on and operated so??? We pulled it out, reset the thermal fuse and oven had heat again. We decided to replace switch anyway ourselves - $80 and 20 minutes work. No respect for our home either. Dishonest outfit. This place is a scam. I called them to look at my fridge . They charged me $365 for a part and when it arrived they told me they made a mistake and my fridge could not be fixed. Their solution was to offer me a refund minus service and restocking fees . The amount they offered for a refund was $30. These scammers want to take $330 for doing absolutely nothing. I am now disputing these charges with visa as they appear to have also forged my signature on the visa patment. Arrived on Apr.3rd 2023 and assessed oven problem as requiring new motherboard.Said if I ordered part through him immediately, then he would not charge for assessment visit and only charge for new part and installation.I would have to pay half of total cost today and balance upon completion of service. Paid $365.00 with credit card that included an extra fee for using the credit card as a form of payment.A month later, part still has not been received and oven still broken. Frequent calls and e-mails to company has only resulted in "part not in yet, will call you when it arrives".Will not send me any type of written verification part has been ordered or definite date when repair will occur. Not same day service as advertised as they had to order a part. I could live with that. Very expensive repair, but they already were charging $100 to come out to assess the problem. That would be waived if they do the job. Still was expensive at $420 to fix door mechanism. Okay they fixed it, only to see on the invoice they charges me an extra 3% for using a credit card. Washing machine wasn't working properly so they came in and looked at it. We were told it needed a new part so we made an appointment for 2 days later. After the repair we still had the same problem. He then moved the hot water input and it works fine. We paid $400 and went 3 days without a washing machine for him to switch the inputs. xpress appliance repair - Back in April the settings on my stove timer weren't working and the timer would go off every hour or so. I called Express appliance repair to come take a look. When I called I specifically said what the issue was and asked for a quote, which they did not provide. The only thing they said was that it was a $99 service call to assess, and if I wanted it repaired they would credit the $99 from the bill. When the Tech got to my place he pressed a couple of buttons and the settings didn't work for him either, so he looked up the part on line and said that the parts were obsolete and he couldn't fix the timer. I was disappointed that they couldn't fix my stove ( I was left with a beeping timer) so I asked if he could at least disconnect the wire to stop the beeping. The tec said it would cost me $290 ( this is already with the $99 deducted. I was floored and said " to disconnect a wire?? And not fix my stove??". He didn't say much other than that's a flat rate....In frustration and needing the beeping sound to go away, I said yes, all while feeling I am being exploited. After the Tech left, I called customer service to complain and they were rude, and dismissive. They also said he touched my stove so the charges applies...Obviously he touched my stove, you can't assess without touching that's what the $99 charge was for, but he didn't fix anything, I still have a stove with no timer! I requested to speak to Management to which I was told they were gone for the day. I asked if they can call me when they are back, I never heard from them. I called again a few days later and they weren't available. I asked if they could call me back. To this day I am still waiting to hear from them...To add insult to injury today they texted me saying that they "validate" me as a customer and would like to offer me $50 off my next repair, to give them a call to schedule an appointment... Machine didn't work, I guess because of this review they did not reply to my call nor ever showed up. Had a washer that needed repair. Serviceman comes out does assessment and says need new part which I agree to - total cost $600. Comes back with part and it didn't solve the issue and need to spend another $450 on top of the other part plus installation which would have put the total more than a brand new washer. Wish i read all the reviews first. This company lied several times on the phone to get there service call price. First there website says 59.99 or up for service call i got charged 90$ after tax. Second I asked when I was booking what is the max price for the part as I gave them the exact model and part that wasent working on my washing machine. As I knew what it was and was told a max price. Tech arrives no parts and then gives me a price double the original max and tell me I owe $90 because he came. Took 20 minutes max. Most time spent writing a recipt. I made the mistake at looking at Express Appliance Repair (Winnipeg) to service a washer that stopped working. A guy which i described to be caucasian, in his late 40's to 50's, spoke with a russian or similar area accent, bald head, brown and gray color moustche, came to the house, took a look at the washer, misdiagnosed the problem, attempted to kill time by playing with his phone to increase his bill time. What should have been an $89 service call, turned to him trying to tell me i owe him $285+ tax for work he couldn't fix and did little to solve. After telling him I will not proceed with his service, he refused to leave the house and continue to monkey around on the washer causing more damage. After he realize I wasn't going to be bullied into paying him $285 he asked me to pay him the $89. He refused to tell me his name, company he worked for or provide a paper invoice. I told him i wasn't going to pay him without a paper trail as he demonstrated he's not trust worthy. Eventually he left, I inspected the damage and called a reputable company to take a look. They diagnosed the actual problem, fixed it, charged a a more reasonable rate and helped fix what the first joke broke. People beware. Similar complaints online with Google and Better Business Bureau with this company gouging customers. Don't be fooled by a picture of a high star ratings they pasted on their website. I would complain in person but the address they have listed online as their business address lead to a residential house. Didn't feel safe so I left it alone. I see they sometime alter their business name and uses Crocus Enterprise and other variations of Express Appliance repair. Very shady business practice. I wish something can be done to bar them from soliciting business as it leaves a bad reputation for honest service folks. I hope my shared experience prevents someone from being a victim. read more
