Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. However, if you value your trees, they are worth calling. And they will call you back el rapido to schedule an estimate. Unlike many in the business, they throw down big mats on your lawn, so their tracked equipment doesn't chew up your grass. They seem to have a unique four-legged pruning platform that travels on treads and can fit in the narrowest of openings --- "I just need three feet [of width]!" their foreman told me --- and it can rise 100'. This equipment leaves an even smaller footprint on your property, unlike a heavy boom truck. Their people are considerate of shaping your trees when pruning, not just hacking. I also had them take out trees and grind the stumps, all done very nicely. Cleanup was commendable. And from the front office to the crews, they are courteous. read more

My neighbor and I both hired Antonio, my neighbor for taking down an old maple and I for extensive yard clean-up. In both cases, they exceeded expectations. He did extra work, cleaned off a low roof which was filled with debris, did an excellent job cleaning up the weeds (frankly the best yard help I've every had!) read more

Just had 2 trees removed from my front yard and absolutely % satisfied with the results. After playing phone tag/missed appointments with another company I reached out to Express Tree Service and was immediately impressed with the quick response and communication of their office. The estimated was completed within 2 days of the request (600 dollars cheaper than previous company). The crew of 4 showed on time and had the trees down and area cleaned up within 2 hours. We've got about 8 trees with a bunch of low hanging branches in our backyard threatening our power lines. Spoke to Joe and he came out promptly to get us a quote and was able to beat out all the other companies in price. Thanks to Alex and his swift moving team, it was all done in about an hour or two with no issues. I am greatly disappointed in my experience with Mr. Joe Perla. After his verbal and written estimate, he ask me...Why don't you get your son-in-law to cut down a hanging branch???? Presumption maybe??? We received several estimates after Express and they were $800-900 less. Very cocky and unprofessional. GREED is not good. read more

I used Express Tree Service to remove 2 large old oak trees. The crew of 4 came out and got to work. They were very careful with their equipment to not damage the yard. They worked hard and never stopped for hours. The clean up was amazing. Other than the trees being gone, you would never know anything was done in the yard. I highly recommend Express Tree Service. Holy smokers! Excellent, efficient tree work. Express cut down a 35' leyland cypress and ground the stump in no time. It was as if the tree was never there. Meticulous crew; they cleaned up everywhere they worked and laid mats on my waterlogged lawn so their stump grinder would not chew it to a mud wallow. They even chipped a large pile of branches that I had cut during the winter. I now know that probably due to their being busy, that they are a little slower than others to get you an estimate, but they WILL get to you! Be patient, as their prices are most fair and their work, as I said, is without fault. Highly, highly recommended. read more

Used Express Tree Service three times. The first two times were great - both times either my or I were at home to oversee the services. Ran into the issue the third time which I didn't do that due to work conflict - and that was a mistake. Didn't notice the issue until next day as I was late getting home and it was already dark. It was not the worst job that I have seen - but my issue was that they were not returning the call after I left daily messages on their phone. Bottomline - you take a chance by using them - if anything goes wrong, don't expect them to be reachable. read more

Recently had Express Tree Service cut & trim again. They are very good about making sure that all expectations from the job quoted are met, and the foreman on the scene is good about asking questions on cutting and trimming and conveying this info to the work team. My only criticism is that sometimes the communication as to date and time between their office and the crew in the field is not as coordinated as it could be, a minor inconvenience. read more

I have a very large oak tree in our yard that was in need of trimming. They came out very quickly to give me an estimate and made an appointment for Tuesday of the following week, which I then asked if I needed to be there and was told "no" as long as the area was accessible. My neighbor and I share the tree so they were aware and at home when the crew arrived. That evening we had straight line winds come in and take a huge branch down into our driveway which my husband and I cleared away and I realize that Express was very busy with taking care of other storm damage. I have made numerous calls to them and left many messages without any return calls. Again, I can understand after the storm, but its been over two weeks since they performed the tree service and I have yet to receive a call back. (they were supposed to remove 7 large limbs back to the trunk and only one limb was cut back to the trunk - I have pictures). The "gentleman" told my neighbor that I never answer my phone, I have checked my home phone and my cell phone (I have the logs) and have not missed any calls which to me indicates I never received a call back, I am at my wits end, and feel the only recourse is to hire a lawyer, I would not recommend this company to anyone. if there were negative stars that's the rating I would give. read more

Joe, the owner, is very rude and unprofessional. Either Express Tree or the mailman, lost my check that I mailed to them right after the work was completed. I had to stop payment on the check ($30) and Joe left me 2 very rude and nasty messages. He was ranting and raving about it's a holiday weekend and he has to pay his men. His last message ended with- "you owe me the money", and he hung up. I mailed the check, I had to stop payment with the bank, and nothing has been returned to the sender. If he handled it differently, I would have had a different reaction. I would NEVER recommend a company that yells into the voice mail of a customer. If they would have offered to split the fee, I would have said not to worry about it, but it was how the whole thing was handled. Shame on them, I have 2 jobs they would have gotten, but now, I will make sure everyone knows how Express Tree treats their customers. I will even play the message to they can hear for themselves. I had Express out to trim 8 trees in April. I walked the grounds with Joe & he wrote up the quote. Couple days later, the crew shows up without Joe and I need to walk the grounds again with the foreman to explain what we were doing. 2 of the trees were large and needed significant trimming/cutting of large limbs. I got home that evening and was not happy with what was done on the 2 large trees (2 to 3 foot diameter trunks). Since I had not yet paid, Joe responded and met me. I was concerned that the very large limbs on one side of one of the trees were not trimmed (limbs opposite these had been removed). Joe insisted tis was best for the tree. Early July, we were hit with 20 mph winds. The winds caught the limbs that Joe insisted on not touching, as if they were a parachute. Since the other limbs were removed, the tree had no counter-balance against the wind hitting the untouched limbs, and twisted the tree causing the trunk to split down the middle. Being a "tree expert", I would have thought that Joe should have realized what would happen when wind hits a tree that was so lopsided. The original work in April cost about $1,100, including $200 for this tree. I was not looking at him to remove this tree for free I assumed I would get a reasonable quote to remove the tree. Over the phone he loudly proclaim that there are no guarantees. and its is not his responsibility. I told him that I understood that. He came out and left a quote for $1,200 to remove this tree. I left 4 messages asking him to reconcile this quote to the cost of the original work. No response. read more
