Our family photo shoots involve 6 adults and 3 kids and she captures everyone along with smaller groups (like grandparents with the grandkids or individual families). She is patient and understanding and knows how crazy it can be when kids get tired or rambunctious. She can do multiple locations for photo shoots - just recently we did the beach for some pics and then headed to Sunset Park to use as another location. In years past we used the lighthouse. It's tough to come up with a 40th birthday gift for an estranged spouse. These days, the only thing we have in common is our children, so it seemed fitting to include them somehow. In a rare moment of clarity, I found a way to get this done, give business to a worthy photographer ( ahem, and friend) at the same time. I posed the idea to Tom, to do a photo shoot of my kids as a present for my wife and his energy and enthusiasm made me immediately think I made the right choice. We discussed locations and concepts based on what I had seen of his work. Tom had some fantastic ideas and was very receptive to my own ideas. Tom feels that the comfort of the subjects is important, so we decided to do an outdoor shoot at the park in the neighborhood where they grew up. The day came and although Tom had nothing to do with the weather, I couldn't help but feel that with the most beautiful fall day I'd ever seen, Tom has an in with Mother Nature. The shoot went flawlessly. He worked great with usually difficult kids and I could tell they felt at ease. My kids are into cosplay, where they like to dress up as their favorite characters. They loved that Tom incorporated their costumes into the shoot and couldn't wait for the pictures. And what pictures they were. I've never seen my kids look so good. The shots were classy, true and fun. I am more than pleased with the results and they were a big hit with everyone who got one. Tom uses an easy method for getting you your pics. He sets up a web page where you can view all shots and order them however you wish ( mugs, cards, photos, digital, etc) . With one click, a picture will be in your hands within hours. The overall experience with Tom, was one that I can't say enough good things about. He knew how to compose shots and make them look great. But most important, the pictures came out wonderful! I knew from the very beginning of wedding planning that I would be meeting with Noah, and when we sat down with him and he made us so comfortable with him and immediately felt like a friend, we knew we were going to hire him. A lot of people I've spoken to who haven't hired a videographer have said that they don't want someone getting in the way with a big camera and making people self conscious, but Noah knows exactly how to blend in and let people go crazy on the dance floor without realizing he is there filming them making fools out of themselves. He also worked amazingly with our photographer, and really got along with our friends (some of whom he had met and remembered from our best friends' wedding several years ago). Our footage was perfect. Everything that I wanted to remember about our day was there. Watching both our short video and our long video (because of course I made my husband watch it with me right away), I saw everything I wanted to see, as well as things I didn't get to see the day of, and things I forgot about in the craziness of the day! I'm an easily stressed person, and I was a very high stress bride, but Noah was amazing at getting me to relax, and he edited the video so that even I can barely tell that there are moments during the day that I was getting overwhelmed.
