We took a stroll down Olvera Street during our trip to LA last month. The plan was to hit Cielito…read moreLindo, but they are temporarily closed. So we looked around and chose El Paseo Inn. It turned out to be a good choice. My wife and I shared the Sepulveda Enchiladas. Thumbs up. The chips and guac were fresh. They kept bringing chips, we kept eating them. Salsas were good too. We tried a frozen margarita and a traditional margarita. The traditional was better. The agua fresca de jamaica was excellent. Service was fast and friendly. Even though I was bummed Cielito Lindo was closed, El Paseo Inn stepped up and delivered.

El Paseo Inn is located right on Olivera Street, so ofc it's a tourist trap. And expensive…read more AI told us to order the tableside guacamole ($15.95) so we did. Our waitress mixed together avocado, tomatoes, Serrano chiles, onions, cilantro, and lime in a molcajete. It was cool, but not worth the price considering the small portion size for super ordinary guac. I must admit the beef taquitos ($16.95) were quite delicious. You get four crispy taquitos filled with shredded beef and topped with avocado sauce + cojita cheese. The combination of avocado sauce and cojita cheese is absolute fire. It's creamy and has a zing of salty from the cheese. Because it's listed as an appetizer, it doesn't come with any sides. Without the sides, each taquitos breaks down to $4.25 a roll, which is quite expensive actually. Well, El Paseo is perfect if you're looking for an alcoholic libation, but I'd recommend venturing further down if you're looking for a quick and easy bite to eat.

Date of visit: May 10, 2026…read more Selections: Enchiladas de Mole Experience: We had called on Saturday, aka the day before Mother's Day, to see if we could make a reservation, but were told to show up early and we will be seated regardless if our whole party was fully there. We were going to be there a bit before 11:00AM originally on Sunday since their website said 11:00AM, but Yelp said 10:00AM was when they opened. So my husband called on Sunday to check and they did indeed opened at 10:00AM. When we got there, there were already three sets of groups seated and they had to rearrange some tables for us since our party was nine people, which only took a couple of minutes to arrange. We were served complimentary chips and salsa as well as water as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. I had quickly chosen my dish cause I'm a sucker for mole and there were only two options that had it, so I ended up getting the enchiladas de mole. The servers were great and the food was as pretty good too. I ended up taking leftovers home since I had eaten too much chips and dip before my actual food came cause the server refilled our chips on our end of the table like four times. The mole was pretty good and I wish there was more of it and didn't really enjoy that there was veggies inside the enchiladas since I think I was expecting more chicken than veggies inside. Not a big fan of beans, but they were pretty good with the melted cheese on top and the rice was good too. I definitely loved the decor they had and the designs painted on the walls because they eee so pretty and provided good photo op backgrounds.
