They contacted me right away and I spoke to the sales guy for about 20 mins as he needed inventory details about all my furniture. Honestly, up until that point it was a positive call and the guy seemed very nice on the phone and helpful. However, at the end of the call after he went over pricing - he did the typical sales tactics and tried to have me put down a deposit on the spot. That is fine - I work with sales people so I get it - what I didn't predict is once I indicated I needed more time to think about it - he got more aggressive, which made me extremely uncomfortable. Honestly up until that point, I was really considering this company. The pricing made sense and I like the storage option. However, he kept pressing me why I needed more time to think about - I explained I needed to chat with my husband (he was not home). Then he said "well what is your husband going to ask that I can't answer." Honestly, at that point, I was done and now I am not considering this company at all because of this type of behavior. I again said I was sorry but wasn't ready to make a deposit and needed a few more days to think about it (this was the very first company I spoke to about this type of move). He explained I would need to do this all over again and get a brand new estimate - I said it makes sense pricing changes but surely they could save my furniture info as that won't change. Nope. Then his final line was "I don't know why you would have me go through all of this and not even be ready to book." At that point I already felt numb and just said thank you and hung up. This is ridiculous - the psychological hustle and pressure in trying to force someone into putting down a deposit. I am an empath so it was deeply unsettling for me - while I understand people needing to hit sales goals, I cannot support a company that has this type of cold sales structure/dynamic. Supporting this company would be saying it okay to support his type of behavior. I know it's a sales tactic but I will not be okay with having this be the norm and letting companies like this getting away with this type of guilt tripping behavior.
