I contacted four different moving companies to move us from our large two bedroom sixth floor apartment (elevator building) to our small two bedroom home. Meetunghouse's form for the request was by FAR the easiest to fill out. On the day of the move, they brought everything we needed (moving blankets etc.) We boxed everything else ourselves before they arrived. The three movers assigned were cheerful and helpful and did their job very, very well. We've moved a lot over the years and this was one of the best experiences we had. They even helped us pick up a Facebook marketplace patio set on our way! Remember to tip your movers - it's hard work!! read more

I hired Meetinghouse to pack for me and move all the stuff. Mostly everything moved from one place to another, but the packers forgot to pack some things and the movers were stressed! The packers and movers were two different crews - one worked Thursday afternoon and the other Friday afternoon - which may have contributed to the problem, because the movers were definitely not pleased with the packers. It got to the point towards the end of day 2 where I just told folx to put stuff down because I felt guilty about how hard the move was on them. Based on the other reviews, I'm thinking I might have caught some of the folx on off-days? I will say they were prompt and polite, and Sway really tried to make up for what he could tell was not the smoothest move. It was not an inexpensive move, but the price matched with other companies I got quotes from. *I'd recommend not asking them to move plants because almost all of the plants they handled lost limbs. Not sure how to get around this if you're a person without a car or just want everything moved in one trip, but I'm glad I moved most of the plants myself. We were expecting three guys to arrive between 9:00 and 9:30. We got two guys at 10:00, no call ahead of time to let us know they would be late and down one man. I asked if there would be reduction in the hourly rate, and they bumped it down from $170 to $160. A very small adjustment! Then they took an hour-long lunch break and included it in their total number of hours. Basically, It felt like they were doing everything in their power to hit the highest number in the range quoted to us, even though we had modest a two-bedroom apartment with everything already in boxes, nowhere near a day's work. Nothing was broken and everyone was courteous; it could have been worse. But would I pick this company again? I'm not sure. read more

This is the second time I used Meetinghouse Movers because the first time was so absolutely smooth and fun, everything was easy, the guys were absolutely amazing. Two years later I used them again. My standing lamp was messed up on drop off, I fixed it myself. Everything was totally thrown in my tiny closet, over my vacuum cleaner, I couldn't even breathe when trying to find things. Granted I had a lot of bags and boxes, but... One guy literally started putting my small TV in a milk crate on leaving the old place?? I was shocked, I had plans to cover it and put it in a large bag with comforters to protect it. What, a milk crate uncovered and dumped in a truck.OK, it wasn't a huge flat screen TV, but it was mine and I was going to pack it myself really fast and secure. I also had a bag of food cooked and frozen that took me hours to find even though I was told it would be taken out first. It was a short trip, so the food was still OK. I had a cooler that I found easily. Very stressful move, even though one of the guys, was very sweet and helped me spread a brand new carpet out, took one memory foam mattress out to the trash. Another one who was lovely, didn't come up to unload the stuff. I'm really not sure if I will use them again. I loved all of them so much the first time ( a different crew I believe), I was slightly disappointed in this move. I'm still unpacking the mess thrown in the closet and tables over one another? Granted my stuff is not a millionaire's stuff and I didn't move into a mansion, but it doesn't matter. It's what I have now, treat the stuff with respect. Not all of the guys, but one I will not mention. Maybe, it's my fault, but I rushed myself to get everything packed. Still... Just thinking about this move, it was the second worst one I've ever had because of ONE BAD APPLE that treated my belongings like s*it. read more

Absolute rave for Jeremy and his team. I was in a bind when my original move plans were thrown off by a week and my help was unavailable for my new moving date. Jeremy listened to my concerns and made superb recommendations and quoted my interstate move at a great price, along my tight timeline, with no problem. His crew of guys were all very polite and friendly, took care of my possessions, and made sure I was happy with how things were loaded into the truck and into my new house. They worked efficiently but carefully, and made sure to listen to my instructions about what was going and what was staying behind. The second day - when my possessions were delivered to the new address, they contacted me an hour before arriving so I was able to be ready for them. They even worked through torrential rain and hail that started in the last 20 mins of unloading the truck and took care to protect my possessions - so they didn't get water damaged. I can't recommend Meetinghouse Movers enough. They took what was going to be an extremely stressful experience, and made sure it went incredibly smooth with no damages or delay in my timeline. Best movers I have ever used! Arrived slightly early on a Sunday, called when they were on their way. Three movers, Sway, Donny, & George were incredibly efficient but also very careful (wrapping furniture in moving blankets without being asked) and kind and calm. They were prepared with all equipment needed and able to disassemble furniture I hadn't warned them would need disassembly and to pack things where I had run behind. They did a large 1 BR local move in under 4 hours at a very fair rate (about $770 including travel time). Nothing broken or damaged and really invested in arranging my furniture nicely. I would not recommend these movers. First, one of the movers showed up hours late and was clearly intoxicated. In addition, the movers lost two parts of furniture during the move, so I am unable to put together my desk chair or mirror (which they were supposed to do in the first place). Finally, a ton of my furniture was just generally scratched and dented while they were moving it. They did not move my items with any care whatsoever. Really great company, customer service, and staff. I called every mover in my area (moved Philly to suburbs). They had the best rates, nicest customer service, and were incredibly accommodating. Moving day they were exactly on time and they HUSTLED. I had a great experience with Meetinghouse movers. I had a pretty big job, and it took all day, but the team was professional and efficient, and honest. They accidentally damaged a vintage mirror. I wouldn't have noticed until after the move, but they informed me of the issue immediately and fixed the mirror at no charge to me.
